  • English education was the first Peace Corps program in Moldova in 1993 and has continued strong ever since. This video highlights two current volunteers, Alex and Jon, who are working alongside Moldovan educators to enhance English classes. They are among the many English education PCVs now serving across Moldova.
The video is in English and Romanian, with subtitles. It is among a series of videos produced for the 25th anniversary of Peace Corps Moldova.

This was a wonderful video. It represents the best of America. I am an American who moved to Moldova two years ago. My wife and I live in a village home where we grow our own food, raise our own chickens, pick our own fruit, gather our own nuts and berries, and make our own wine. It's a simple life filled with simple pleasures. I love it.

@@pizdanpula223 Yes, I agree. Along with lower Moldovan salaries comes a lower cost of living. For someone like myself receiving a retirement pension from the US, the dollar goes a long way in Moldova.

Good for you Edward Taub - I'm raised in a similar setting in the countryside of a coastal Western European country on a farm, my education has been technical and creative to be fully self sufficient. Bigger doesn't mean necessary better. Smaller farms don't depend on outside labor (shortage) like the large farms in North America. Many of the East went to the West for a better life, now the East is ready for the West to help people sustain their values and have a better life. Hardworking families in the countryside are the backbone of a nation - because no matter what - in the Cities they need food. Yes love Moldova and hope someday to spend there a whole growing season.

The Peace Corps is an incredible organization. It brings the best out of everyone that interacts with it. Glad to see that the projects in Moldova are being presented to the world in such a professional manner. Great work!

Yup, TH-cam must have surfaced this because I watched not only Lost in Moldova, but all those other videos from Romania or Moldova. Very nice video, and very good to see real life peace corps, rather than one played on TV. And it's nice to learn that not all Peace Corps volunteers are 20-somethings fresh out of college looking for an adventure before starting their real life.
