  • Lokoja is a city in Nigeria. It lies at the confluence of the Niger and Benue rivers and is the capital of Kogi State. While the Oworo, Bassa Nge, and Nupe are indigenous to the area, other ethnic groups of Nigeria, including the Kupa-Nupe, Hausa, Ebira, Igala, Igbo, Bini/Edo, and Tiv have recently established themselves.
Lokoja is located in the north-central of Nigeria and is one of the cities in Nigeria with lots of colonial history. Lokoja was the capital of the British Northern Nigeria Protectorate. Lokoja remained a convenient administrative town for the British colonial government after the amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria in 1914. The first Governor-General, Sir Frederick Lugard, governed the new nation of Nigeria from Lokoja.
Lokoja has some of the best tourist attractions in Nigeria, such as Mount Patti, the confluence point among other.
Lokoja has three major markets: New Market (International Market); Old Market; and Kpata Market.

Our ones lush roadside forests are disappearing all over Nigeria and we need to start replanting trees wherever we can if we are to not suffer increased flooding and droughts.

Well you must be either very rich or very famous. I went to Nigeria last October after 23 years in UK and spent 4 months (first return since leaving). I travelled through lokoja 8 times via road and never needed security once. Stressful road trip yes but other than that not a single trouble. Nice video.

If all federals roads in Nigeria are like what I'm seeing at the beginning of this vlog, then Nigeria's economy would have been greatly improved. Thanks @David Nkwa for taking us with you on this travel vlog.

Thanks @David Nkwa for the drive to Lokoja. The federal roads are horrible. I hope not too many people drive through it at night. I look forward your Lokoja city exploration. Have a blessed day in Lokoja.

Not until all these useless trucks are removed from our roads there will always be congestion and disturbances. You can't part truck on the road side just like that. There should be truck or trailer park for them .
We don't take good care of our roads and that is very sad. Weeds are even growing on the roads. Jeez!

The fact that you need police escorts from Abuja to kogi state says it all...A country where you can't freely move around without fear for your life and safety is a failed state. This imported buhari is the biggest failure in the history of Nigeria...
