It’s so nice and nostalgic to see Sir Nigel Gresley back in blue. I remember riding on it as a kid, but it’s been years since I went to the NYMR. I really need to go back at some point.
Gresley has been blue for all of its time in preservation, except 1 year in black primer for running in (2022). The A4 is very exotic and is very high maintenance, so they didn’t want to pay £30k twice for a posh paint job, on top of the £1 million overhaul.

Oh yes, It was definitely lovely seeing it in blue, and I would definitely recommend going.
