Layout Boat Duck Hunting | Eiders at Our Feet!

Day two of our Maine trip we headed back out to sea with different conditions. The weather was perfect and we had eiders at our feet all day long. This is layout boat duck hunting at its best!

Are they gamey??? Or similar to inland diving ducks?? Like Buffalo head/ canvas back/ blue bill ect

Yeah they’re gamey and strong taste like most divers are .

We are planning to do a recipe this week with them! Canvasbacks are phenomenal table fare. These guys need a little more work, but are definitely worth eating. Frank is correct though, depending how you cook and prepare them they may have a stronger taste than puddle ducks. Thanks for watching!
