The Abyss is the absolute bottom of the Headspace. That area with Abby is basically a barrier that separates White Space from Black Space. But it seems that the wall is worn out, and holes have already formed in it... Go past the barrier and you end up entering Black Space 2.
Its kinda satisfying how each route lets you explore majorly the world you chose... like if you go with the hikikomori one u can deepen in Sunny's mind while on the neutral route you can see what the outside world has to offer... its somewhat smart that you cant experience the whole game in just a playthrough
It implies that this isn't the first time Omori has been on this journey with his friends over these past 4 years. All those skeletons in the Abyss and in Humphrey were previous iterations of Omori, Kel, Hero and Aubrey that failed to help Sunny wake up.

I believe that the Strangers in Black Space are projections of Sunny's Superego which has taken the form of Basil for 2 reasons. The first is that Basil is the second closest person to the truth, before Sunny. The second is the White Egret Orchids. While Omori is a very realistic game, the White Egret Orchids seem to have some mystic ability, allowing a true projection of Mari's thoughts to enter Sunny's dreams from the graveyard and a true projection of Basil's thoughts to enter Sunny's dreams when he's close to his dying grandmother.
"Dream" Hero is an interesting character, he's one that his dream world variant is as accurate as his real self. You can also think it might be because Omori is unable to depict him in an Afraid State. Hence the Black and White Noise.

its interesting how abby is essentially the 3 initial fears omori has, but because he conquered them in the story he doesn't start out the fight afraid. though with the lack of music, abbi pleading to stop, and the mf EYE staring at you the entire time it adds onto the player's dread
@@stupiderandunnecessarier tbh its a stretch for me to say so too lmao. my thought process connected: - depth=height using the ladder as reference to how high everything else is. kinda like when you go swimming in the deep ocean. even though you know you're at sea level the actual ocean floor spans miles below - and 8 tentacles to spider's 8 legs. this ones the weakest connection imo because its just a visual connection. but both species are good hunters so there could be something to be said of being hunted as part of the fear. (that and they could've also gone for a giant/bigfin squid but that would require 10 instead of 8 so i think its intentional)

She's not, y'all have been misled by the wiki being full of misinfo years ago, there is not a single line of text that implies Abbi is an imaginary friend, we do not know what she is, period.
I don't remember where, but I remember reading on TV Tropes (I think) that once mentions that therapy or whatever may involve children using clay to create some figure that's somehow related to their trauma, which could explain why all of the "Something" enemies have a different art style where they seem to be made of clay. The only exception to this is Angi (the angler fish things) which seems to be hand drawn like most other characters, but I would assume that this is because children often express their trauma through bizarre drawings.

It’s sorta scary to see the fact that after so much, sunny feels like he can’t go back to his friends,friends that don’t exist anymore. (By not exist I mean them all changing,they are not the same person) he even declines himself from leaving the house after refusing to open the door for Kel, he feels like being sheltered and alone is the only way to cope,it’s pretty scary when you give it a second thought.
I think Abbi was the last entity in Headspace to remind Sunny of the truth, and that Headspace!Basil would've ended up in a similar state if you didn't face Something (hell, it kinda already happens to him with the Stranger).
During the hikkiomori route if you do your chores and go back to sleep instead of stabbing yourself, you can talk to basil and he gives you a flower crown, it helps you gain really good stats, I recommend using it during the boss rush. Hope this helps!

Nobody knows that answer, even if you check the wiki. My guess is that in the Faraway town segments, if everyone somehow became Afraid, Hero goes monochrome there, too.

If you defeat Abby and spare her you get to use the tentacle things across Headspace and she'll bring you the most powerful weapons and stuff. Choosing not to spare her gives you her eye I think which I believe using it on Omori makes you unable to die. I probably got it slightly wrong tho.
