    Thanks!!! Now I know I can build my perfect Opinel No. 8 knife! Because I'm gonna order 2 different No. 8 knives... The basic one with the high carbon steel blade and the boring handle... and the Chaparon.. very nice handle made from different types of wood and designs and all handles are one of a kind but it has a stainless steel blade which is not for me... And thanks to your video I now know how to switch the blade so I have both... a nice chaparon handle and a high carbon steel blade!😎

    Sanded out the inner side where the knife is held, so that it can move more freely. Always got stuck when the handle got wet

      For me living in a very dry environment I have to give mine a drink of oil or the blade gets a little loose

    Nice how-to video. If buy a fiber wheel for a bench grinder or use an arbor and a drill. they remove staining on the blade or any metal fast and easy without damage. Then polish with a small cheap polishing mop on a drill or drill press and polish I like Flitz. This will not remove the pitting the metal turns out nice and shiny.

    Thanks but i can't do it. Tried it with several models but the pin almost seems like it's welded in place, it doesn't move

      Check that the pin doesn't turn when the blade is opened that could be the blade is rusted to the pin ,I haven't seen it when the pin gets a bit bent from hard use it can take a tap with a hammer and nail to get it moving

    Impossible with a number 6, I swear. I can NOT get the pin out at all, it's as if they welded it or something:)

      it might be bent when the colar is locked does the blade move ? can happen on hard use but usually on the size 8 or bigger if the pin turns with the blade it could be rusted to blade or the handle could be swollen if its been wet recently

    This guy is bad ass. Uses a screw just because he is used to using whatever he can find.

      @kisbushcraftdownunder  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No the outdoor number 8 blade is thicker than the regular one but the seven is the same as the outdoor junior
