Just cracked a Racer 5 and wanted to watch something appropriate to pair with it. Great video, people like Ryan make all the difference, passion and knowledge of the product coupled with a willingness to show others the fruits of their labour. Great viewing, I'd love to visit.
Amen to that! Come morning you usually remember the beer, but you always remember the people.
Good stuff. I've not tried much from Bear Republic but everything I have tried has been absolute quality. Every beer is always unbelievably well balanced and drinkable. They definitely seem like one of the good guys, will keep supporting them!
+Carlos Vélez pretty much how we felt - and then on top of that was the barrel ageing we had no idea about. Shows the breweries making all the noise aren't the only guys making all the good beer. We learned an important lesson.

I went a couple years ago and was expecting a similar experience. To my surprise and luck, they were offering flights of their Tartare sour series. Great stuff.

The Craft Beer Channel Not sure why they call it Tartare, but that's the name of some of their sours. No hints of beef in the nose or taste.
haha, should hope not. Though I've had beer with meat in, and fish. Crazy world we drink in.

Racer 5 is a great IPA! Recently reviewed Cafe Racer 15 and was super impressed! Probably one of the best West Coast DIPAs that gets distributed! Hop Shovel is damn good too. Really awesome to see the behind the scenes stuff. Gotta make my way out there. Also had no idea about the BA stuff. Cheers guys!!! :)
Yeah it's definitely worth the trip - especially as it's only about 25mins from Russian River and hundreds of vineyards!
We were really impressed with the beers. Always forget how drinkable Racer 5 is. Much as I love East Coasters, the malt/hop balance means you could spend a whole day drinking Racer 5 and not really notice. Not true of Hop Shovel though, that badass packs a punch.
