  • Not only in old steam turbine engine were using steam on board,
Even now latest model of ships also does use steam on board for multiple purposes. And for that need of steam boilers are installed in ship which generates steam onboard according to vessel requirements
Main purpose of steam on board is to heat up the machines, systems, fuel oils, lube oils, etc
They are also used to maintain suitable temperature in accommodation and other parts of ship, if vessel is sailing in cold regions.
Mainly boilers are classified by 2 types:
    1) WATERTUBE BOILER
    2) FLAME TUBE BOILER
As the types says WATER TUBE BOILER contains water in tubes and fire flames around the tube which heatsup the water and form steam.
In FLAME TUBE BOILER, fire flame and burned gases passes through the tubes and fresh water is around the tubes inside boiler cylinder,
When flame passes through tube which are covered with water, they heat it up and produces steam.

@@kamalraj7017 hi bro... After BE the only best option you are left with is to do a GME course and then you will be able to work off shore,
Only on basis of BE (mech) it's difficult to get job in this field
