The first person who ever killed me in BDO was Caarl outside Heidel, he was a big mean red musa and I thought he was the absolute worst. Many years later and a lot of GS later, we have fought over spots such as gyffin underground, mostly it was him just stampeding with his zerk having a blast. Between that and seeing him when Loml realeased getting his Dahn Glove, tipping me on how to progress quests and exchange mats to get it asap, the redplayer that I fought was the worst was one of the best sights to behold in EU servers. Besides the whole "bad for new undergeared players" where we actualy lost absolutely nothing, XP, crystals, wtvr, Caarl absolutely changed my opinion and attitude torwards redplayers, and to me, this feels like bad news in general for the aspirational open world pvp players. Hope J lets you have your fun again soon enough, it sure was a lot of fun for the server imo
I like open world PVP and I it really is unfortunate that it's changing. However, players did it to themselves. For example: Killing someone at a dehkia spot who is just grinding a set spot, using an item that has charges, is going to cause people to complain. That is griefing someone and it's going to lead to problems that causes people to quit, which means no pearl sales that customer.
this, most red players aren't looking for "pvp" they just look to run around and one shot people in their pve setups to grief and waste their time. if all red players quit the game it would probably be 1/10000th of the players that quit because they were sick of losers like carl

@@kizer0161 I have no Idea what late game PvE content you all are talking about, PvE in this game has always been killing mobs in a circle, in the early AND late game. I've seen countless PvE players getting to the hard cap and quitting the game cause they have nothing more to do until new gear is released, while I see the same PvP players from 8 years ago still playing the game cause they have a reason to actually push past the hard cap. And griefers are definitly more common. Saying it has in all games doesnt mean it's not a problem. When someone used to grief me, I'd flag up on them or declare war and defend my spot and my grind, now I just have to accept it and swap channels and HOPE that they wont follow me, cause PA actually doesn't care about people following you on channels unless they are actually PKing you. And tbh, the most toxic, annoying and out of their mind players, are all PvE, they CANNOT accept anything related to PvP. I've never been a red player, but I always loved the open world pvp. If what it takes for the game to be healthy is 5 people going red and "griefing" the game as you guys call it, I'd bee more than happy to accept it.
I understand both sides as I’ve been red several times and was planning on going red once I got my Debo V on BDC when I was a newer player grinding at trees red players would come and kill me and it was irritating as there was nothing I can do losing buffs and they kept spawn killing me to the point I couldn’t log off I had to dashboard to just switch servers but it motivated me to get better gear and now I can fight 3v1 red at once simply cause I have better crystals and gear now. But I can see the frustration of other players that feel differently sometimes losing a magical draught is extremely annoying after just using it to a red player especially as a NEW player because everything is scarce and rare to you. Red players have no idea how many players they’ve made quit or take a break from the game and PA sees that as losing profit because most of these players bought outfits, pets, etc one of my friends quit BDO for that very reason. So at the end of the day there’s no real benefit of being a red player anyway you can lose everything and gain nothing. I’m sorry bro it came to this though but I seen this coming a while ago Bless unleashed did the same thing when I was a purple player except there were benefits to going max purple would get 5% PvP attk dmg and 5% PvP def. BDO don’t have none of that. I almost went red the other day and it took so long to get my karma back I was like imagine the pain of being 10m karma deep. BDO isn’t gonna die because of this karma update though PA making more money now because newer sensitive players are satisfied with not being killed and harassed so it = more pearls bought. Hope they implement better and more rewarding PvP activities besides just NW , siege and AoS. Sorry man 😢
Oh and I know Bless is a trash dead game but I actually enjoyed that sh*t and it led me to find BDO one point Bless had open world PvP and you can kill players at boss fights and me and my friends would just merk players cause we were geared etc and they would lose nothing and us too but eventually they took the open world PvP out of boss zones and half the map became a SZ then they took the PvP buffs away from being max notoriety which is max red/purple from all the complaining people did.
It doesn't look that zoomed out to me. Only thing you can do is max the camera range in settings and turn off zoom effects. Then for a more "zoomed out experience" you could use your arrow keys to make your character further down, giving you that Bossfight-cameramode anywhere you want.
When I got into bdo about 4 years ago I thought one of the coolest concepts for bdo was the open world pvp and the ability to fight and kill anyone anywhere pretty much, Ive had some experiences in combat but it was always getting hard gearchecked. Since a year ago I have been seriously working on my gear and am finally reaching a point where I can stand a chance against people in the open world only for PA to have killed off pretty much everything regarding pvp other than organized pvp, arenas and capped content. I hear stories of huge fights happening over grind zones and guilds declaring wars in the open world and im sad ill never get to experience this part of bdo especially now that I would be able to participate with the progress Ive made with my gear.
you can still kill anyone in open world outside safezones. you can still have 2 players enabled pvp and not drop karma. you can still kill pve players and proper shaft them from behind without giving a chance to figth back.
You still can open world pvp... "turning red on and off..." there is the problem: if you decide to be a red player, you stay longer red. it was your decision. in the past it was way too easy to get your karma back positive. finally "bad guys" staying longer "bad guys". i mean pirates stay pirates... so why not bad guys stay bad guys? Thats the base of an open world game. you can meat everytime bad guys and good guys.... stay red caarl. it was your playstyle, your decision. Even if they made ingame punishment harder, your not the good guy from the present to tomorrow.

It started in 2019 when they first started to nerf PvP as the goto method to take/defend a spot. Its been downhill since then. They only buff griefing.
Combat system might be good in terms the way it looks. but with all the broken class that have prema sa or prema 's or just dumb op skill. I still dont see the point in investing time into the game. if its is not gear than you get shit on, then its bc of a class and if its not the class or gear, then its 3d party progame that delete half of the animations of skill allowing you to become a blurr in the game. I would take a more chilled down MMO over the fancy combat any day than this game. its just truly sade that the old bdo that was skill base has gone and been replaced with this Bs.
They make a misstake with adding "world pvp" and they slowly but surely remove it because only 0.1% or probably less do pvp like that so why they should continue ir ur way if the majority dont like or just dont care ?
the game on 2016 had 90% of its players doing pvp, 2019 many players quitted because of this changes, fast forward today you see not alot of pvp players left not 0.1% tho but in reality the game started as a pvp game, always been a pvp game till this clueless devs came into scene, so world pvp wasnt added to the game, IT WAS born with it...
@@Alaaeddine_ they were doin pvp because the game was lackin in proper pve content. they improved that. guilds were gatekeeping you from spots on all channels, game was overpopulated for the amount of spots that were available so you were forced to pvp. it wasnt a choice. and the red system was a puinishment, not a reward, they only made the punishment more severe for being red
as much as i am happy with how they change the declaration system because on SEA server most high tiered guild somehow just love it to declare a weaker guild just to take over a spot forcibly, and it happened not only once or twice so I am very happy with how they change the declaration system, but I am just disappointed as fk as how they change the karma system, Red Player is there because they create it, its a feature that they invented in the first place and now they want to destroy it, I am more than happy to be killed by a Red Karma player because it shows that they have the balls and skills, unlike those big guilds that use declaration system to take over spot forcibly with their high GS and high number , anyway its sad to see that you retired as a Red Karma system, I will always respect those that have tried the Red Karma ways, wp Caarl, take this as how the GM respect how skilled you are as a Red Player that they had to do this changes

This is a bit disappointing. I'm from the RU server, but I saw your videos even before I became a pk myself. On our server there is a downgrade after death from another player if you are without crystals. There are also two times fewer channels and people. But this did not stop us from creating the first full red PK guild on ru after the PK update (we were in other guilds but in the same community), where we have fun every day. Open PVP in BDO has become shit, but someone needs to stay and let people know that we won’t be broken that easily.
Bro, for real i have -550k karma right now. Its like i want to pk player, but some runt of a Guild called "Dusk" loves ro pk player, i killed 5 of them in garmoths nest, it 5 v 1 with my warrior, right know im dealing with half mil negative karma, damn those players.

In my opinion, they did it well, grinders should have more chill on the spot. If you only want beating, there are always options guild league and server arsha, so I don't see a problem. It's irritating, some random guy comes and kills you for no reason and you'll waste your time and buffs
@@ghostyasuo9163 What does that even mean? People don't DFS anymore because of the abundancy of relevant spots available outnumber the concurrent amount of players grinding. Why waste time fighting if you want a spot and can just swap servers, or just move to a different one. The game is simply not in the state of Desert Nagas or even Serendia Elvia later on anymore (mainly orcs though). I even have to say that to this day I come across red players just as rarely as before any of the karma and dec changes. The only difference is that there's no more "Oh, let me be a criminal in the game for a bit then change back to a law abiding player in a matter of minutes." Players who commit to be red will stay red for longer, which is a positive for them if anything, as it makes them do what they enjoy for longer periods (which is PK ing and being red). The "punishments" or shall I say setbacks of being a red player hasn't changed one bit.
Honestly feels like being blue and playing on arsha might net more fights with players opting in with the intent of fighting for spots, but then again i play on arsha sometimes as a pve andy and just run lol :/ however there seems to be roamers.

1st of all PA do this decision just because red player not that one bring income to them and they make those who wanna pay them left the game. 2nd PVE / PVP build too huge gap now with PVP set grief PVE ppl there rarely see a chance that PVE set will win over PVP set player that getting PVE ppl upset. But alot of people quit and new players are just here for the pve which seems weird when the pve is quite awful. How do you set your camera to be far from your character like in the video? All the time that I zoom out eventually I got back in a ‘zoom in’ setting

It started in 2019 when they first started to nerf PvP as the goto method to take/defend a spot. Its been downhill since then. They only buff griefing.
Combat system might be good in terms the way it looks. but with all the broken class that have prema sa or prema 's or just dumb op skill. I still dont see the point in investing time into the game. if its is not gear than you get shit on, then its bc of a class and if its not the class or gear, then its 3d party progame that delete half of the animations of skill allowing you to become a blurr in the game. I would take a more chilled down MMO over the fancy combat any day than this game. its just truly sade that the old bdo that was skill base has gone and been replaced with this Bs.

They make a misstake with adding "world pvp" and they slowly but surely remove it because only 0.1% or probably less do pvp like that so why they should continue ir ur way if the majority dont like or just dont care ?
the game on 2016 had 90% of its players doing pvp, 2019 many players quitted because of this changes, fast forward today you see not alot of pvp players left not 0.1% tho but in reality the game started as a pvp game, always been a pvp game till this clueless devs came into scene, so world pvp wasnt added to the game, IT WAS born with it...
@@Alaaeddine_ they were doin pvp because the game was lackin in proper pve content. they improved that. guilds were gatekeeping you from spots on all channels, game was overpopulated for the amount of spots that were available so you were forced to pvp. it wasnt a choice. and the red system was a puinishment, not a reward, they only made the punishment more severe for being red
I dont know about EU but in NA arsha is also pve. If u kill someone there they start to complain even tho they know they are on arsha.

as much as i am happy with how they change the declaration system because on SEA server most high tiered guild somehow just love it to declare a weaker guild just to take over a spot forcibly, and it happened not only once or twice so I am very happy with how they change the declaration system, but I am just disappointed as fk as how they change the karma system, Red Player is there because they create it, its a feature that they invented in the first place and now they want to destroy it, I am more than happy to be killed by a Red Karma player because it shows that they have the balls and skills, unlike those big guilds that use declaration system to take over spot forcibly with their high GS and high number , anyway its sad to see that you retired as a Red Karma system, I will always respect those that have tried the Red Karma ways, wp Caarl, take this as how the GM respect how skilled you are as a Red Player that they had to do this changes

I can’t deal with PA no more. They clearly don’t care about there game or the player base. The karma system alone shouldn’t exist. It’s so bad it begs the question “Why even have force pvp then”. Then they go off and wait years to release content for the game.

This is a bit disappointing. I'm from the RU server, but I saw your videos even before I became a pk myself. On our server there is a downgrade after death from another player if you are without crystals. There are also two times fewer channels and people. But this did not stop us from creating the first full red PK guild on ru after the PK update (we were in other guilds but in the same community), where we have fun every day. Open PVP in BDO has become shit, but someone needs to stay and let people know that we won’t be broken that easily.
Game needs to be acquired by a better company that will do an FFXIV fix to it.
Bro, for real i have -550k karma right now. Its like i want to pk player, but some runt of a Guild called "Dusk" loves ro pk player, i killed 5 of them in garmoths nest, it 5 v 1 with my warrior, right know im dealing with half mil negative karma, damn those players.

In my opinion, they did it well, grinders should have more chill on the spot. If you only want beating, there are always options guild league and server arsha, so I don't see a problem. It's irritating, some random guy comes and kills you for no reason and you'll waste your time and buffs

@@ghostyasuo9163 What does that even mean? People don't DFS anymore because of the abundancy of relevant spots available outnumber the concurrent amount of players grinding. Why waste time fighting if you want a spot and can just swap servers, or just move to a different one. The game is simply not in the state of Desert Nagas or even Serendia Elvia later on anymore (mainly orcs though). I even have to say that to this day I come across red players just as rarely as before any of the karma and dec changes. The only difference is that there's no more "Oh, let me be a criminal in the game for a bit then change back to a law abiding player in a matter of minutes." Players who commit to be red will stay red for longer, which is a positive for them if anything, as it makes them do what they enjoy for longer periods (which is PK ing and being red). The "punishments" or shall I say setbacks of being a red player hasn't changed one bit.
Honestly feels like being blue and playing on arsha might net more fights with players opting in with the intent of fighting for spots, but then again i play on arsha sometimes as a pve andy and just run lol :/ however there seems to be roamers.

Open world is where it can become organic big fights can break out etc. Game just decided to try and become mainstream which might backfire on them who knows. Before when gvgs etc were happening majority that played bdo wanted to pvp. Even garmoth was pvp after boss died since there were alot of decs. But alot of people quit and new players are just here for the pve which seems weird when the pve is quite awful. And how people frown upon dfs is insane it used to be a core part of mutual respect in the game
