If the compressor is weak, replace It with a 0.75 ton or a 1 ton non inverter R22 compressor. This vintage air conditioner needs more years of work

but i'm gonna try to fix the original compressor first, the main reaso is because i loved how the typical national compressor sound it makes. if it's unfixable, then the last option is replace the compressor.

my grandma's sister has this old fancy house in durban with buggered up air conditioners that look similarly to the one you have right now, they unbranded though
