This piece sounds pretty good on viola and I’m currently working on this and I play clarinet lol but first time I’ve heard this piece have a string soloist
Bravo, absolutely awesome viola playing! Many years ago I heard it for the first time with Steven Dan and the Toronto Symphony. You need a lot of courage and forward vision to go out there to do it.To bad the Rondo is missing.
This concerto has to many fragments set up in high register, so it makes little sense to perform it on viola without any changes to that. Even with such brillliant performance as this one is.
It takes a very fine player to make this work in this transcription...and Timothy Ridout gets close. Could he try the bassoon concerto next!?
Dang Timothy Ridout is good. What a joy to hear him play.
Ensemble Esperanza So it's basically the Solo Clarinet part arranged for Viola. This would've been Mozart's Viola Concerto in A major K 622a.

Delightful!
ufff muy bueno
Bravo
Where can we find this transcription of viola? Would love to play it!
I'd use a 5 String Viola to help with the Higher notes. I'd rather play it on a Double Bass tuned in Fifths.

At 1:20 you can see the dark-haired male violinist make a mistake, and his stand partner scoff him a bit for it.
If you are going to make a mistake, make it a good one!!
Hätte Mozart auch gefallen.
What key is this arrangement in - A or G?
A
It sound way better than clarinet.
Probably but its nice to see a virtuosic performance on viola, considering relatively few (solo) compositions are written for that instrument
@@porsche911sbs She said it sounds better than the clarinet version...I"m not sure I would agree, although I like it.
The most holy piece for clarinet is played by a Viola😱😱 that’s so sacrelegious😤
Muhahahaha 😈
