As my two year old son was waking up this morning, he was lying down on the couch as I was watching the documentary about the 60th anniversary of Mary Poppins. It’s on Disney +. The show concludes with this short film. When the new verse began to be sung, I heard a little voice singing next to me. My son has never heard this song before I swear and here he is singing along to its new verse. I broke down pretty bad.
Crying my eyes out here-this is genuinely beautiful. A beautiful tribute to a beautiful song and the beautiful careers of two brothers who've made living here in this "small world" a whole ton brighter. Thank you so much, Richard and Robert Sharman.
I was watching the. Mary Poppins tribute special that aired on Wednesday, and I'm glad I got to see it all along with this short film that was shown! Those brothers did an awesome job with their music! May they rest in peace.
One of the highlights of my life was in 2014, a Club 33 event where I got to meet Richard Sherman. They moved 1/4 of the seats out of the Tiki Room and put in a baby grand piano. I got to see him play live. The thing that stuck with me was his genuine love of music. It wasn't about him, there was no ego involved whatsoever, the music was his passion and he loved writing it and playing it.
Awwww. 💔😔 Such a touching tribute to two Disney legends. R.I.P., Shermans. Thanks for all the music, and now, wherever you both are, you're together again.
Was one of the luckier ones to see this first-hand back in D23 and I found myself crying alongside many other Disney fans. Today even though it’s Thanksgiving and I’m somewhat alone, the whole thing made my cry the second time. The Sherman Brothers were truly the heart and soul of Disney fans all over the world, but it feels nice being able to share their legacy with so many fans young and old. May these two legends rest in peace! 🕊️ 🐭✨

I can speak for most of us in the world when I say I am eternally grateful for the beautiful music the Sherman Brothers gave us. Thank you, Robert and Richard Sherman. For everything.
There is something so sweet in this video, it brings tears to my eyes because it brings memories of our trips to Disneyland and Walt Disney World. So many beautiful memories.
It’s Small world is and will always be my favorite song not just how annoyingly catchy it is, but the magnificent of an Art-form it had. it was when i researched the history and the message Walt wanted to spread, i just fell in love with it so much. This song and the ride introduced me to so many friendships, it has inspired me to become more creative. Thank you Sherman Brothers for creating this magnificent song. Even though the world is horrible right now this song will forever remain in my heart.
This made me cry 😭 I needed this so much right now after everything that’s happened in the past few weeks. Thank you, Sherman brothers for everything you did for us 💞

Mary Poppins is my absolute favorite Disney movie and all the Sherman’s songs are classics. This song is especially poignant because I am a travel advisor and it’s illustrates why we need to travel and embrace other countries and cultures.

Thank you, Sherman Brothers, for writing to wonderful songs that we all knew and loved very much from the movies such as: 1. The Parent Trap (1961) 2. Mary Poppins 3. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 4. Just like Walt Disney, I'm very thankful to The Sherman Brothers for not only making songs come true out of dreams and imagination, but changing the future after all. I've grown up with their musical contributions whenever I watch classic Disney films of the past century since when I was younger. Nobody else make songs like this but Sherman Brothers.
I'm really happy that the Sherman Brothers gave us so many classics to grow up with that stuck around throughout several generations. And that they got to live long enough to see how what they've created impacted countless children and children at heart. Thank you, Richard and Robert. ❤ Also, on a separate note, Disney PLEASE don't flag this for kids, let people comment on this. 🙏
@@stefmonterrosa6818 The music is good, the story itself is meh. Yes, I know Disney is known for remaking fairytales, myths, and legends and whatnot, but adapting a Shakespeare work (Hamlet) into a movie was not their best move! @OliveNLuv oh I see. Well, I myself enjoy the story and music of the Lion King. I respect your opinion though. Thanks for explaining, I am open minded to different opinions. Could you tell what you think of Timon and Pumbaa?

I avoided the ride like the plague whenever I went to Disneyland. 😅 However... Why does this montage bring me to tears? Perhaps it’s because that young boy watching Zazu sing in the movie theater reminds me of myself at five years old. Or maybe it’s the children on the boat ride, who remind me of my own kids just three months ago in Paris, singing with joy and wonder like all the kids in this video. It could also be the realization that this song connects so many of us, fulfilling its purpose in ways both profound and beautiful. Despite the flaws of the Disney company, past and present, I find myself grateful. Grateful for the songs, the movies, and the experiences they’ve created-things that have the power to elevate us, to bring us together, and to transcend so many divides.
Even though I was born in 2007, this hits really hard. I've literally studied Disney my whole life, so the news in May that Richard has perished, was icredibly a very heartbreaking moment. We'll forever appreciate what thet gave the Disney Company, but also Walt himself. Walt really loved those guys, but they will now all reunite🤍
60 years of Mary Poppins and 60 years of It’s a Small World, just… There’s no words for me to describe because I’m overwhelmed with the death of Richard Sherman. I’ve said many times that I’ve always wanted to meet him. I know he wrote the lyric to Mother Earth, but I thought, let’s drop that and instead replace that with God, and it’ll read: “God unites us all in heart and mind. And the love we give makes us humankind. Through His vast and wondrous land, where we stand hand in hand. It’s a Small World after all.” Small World truly hits different with me after his passing, and I’m autistic and music truly communicates through the soul through the mind of how our brain develops. The Sherman Brothers gave me a kind of connection of what music should sound like, like the way John Williams, Alan Menken, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gilbert & Sullivan, Danny Elfman, all the way back to Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, among others, is why I still study the good of music and I criticize the bad music filled with druggers, celebrity this and that, and all those things today. That’s not music to me. Music truly is what I should be hearing like if it were coming out from a painting, or hearing an angelic voice from a big church. Something like Mozart’s Requiem, and especially Handel’s very famous Messiah Oratorio. The way that Richard describes It’s a Small World, that it’s a prayer for peace, and it’s never a novelty as some people puts it, truly is the side of music that explains the world… Like how Jim Cummings puts it when he talks about the way how Winnie the Pooh sees things, through honey-colored glasses. That’s music to me!
Thank you Sherman brothers for making children around the world whether big or small, disability, mental health issues, trauma, family problems feel safe to come to Disney to escape the world and have fun in our imagination.
A beautiful tribute to two of some of the most prolific composers in Disney history. I’ll admit I teared up quite a bit watching this. They NEED to find a way to incorporate that last verse into the attraction itself.
That was a nice heartfelt tribute to both Sherman brothers. RIP to Robert and Richard Sherman, at least their legacy lives on from their music and their sons who produced the documentary about them, and the 60th anniversary Mary Poppins documentary.
I don’t think I have ever had a harder time holding back my tears after watching this. Such a sweet tribute to the Sherman Brothers for the amazing music they created for such iconic Disney films ever made. They will forever be remembered 😢 😭

Rest in peace, Sherman brothers.
Thank you Sherman Brothers for Giving us all these Wonderful Disney Songs
A beautiful tribute to two of some of the most prolific composers in Disney history. I’ll admit I teared up quite a bit watching this.
They NEED to find a way to incorporate that last verse into the attraction itself.
Thanks Mr. Sherman for making the music of my favorite Winnie the Pooh movies.
Forever Legends.
Grateful to be alive at a time where they were still making music.
This was wonderful.
1:46 The kid in the hoodie is a time traveler, who would be wearing a Stitch hoodie in 95???
Upřímnou soustrast, ztráty Vaších kolegů, zaměstnanců a přátel, Disney. Ale jak řekl Walt Disney: "Jdi prostě dál!". A já Vám to přeju hodně. Zdraví z České republiky.🥲🛕🇨🇿
Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. Walt Disney 🐭🏰💫
Thank you for the memories... Sherman Brothers! 🕊
R.I.P Sherman Brothers. I actually just sang one of their songs 'Let's Get Together'.
Absolutely incredible
Thank you boys you did the right thing for Disney.
Even not being a Disney-kid, this song just...hits.
Thank you Richard and Robert Sherman, for all the magic you both gave us through your music. 🎶 ♥🥰.
I know they’re both in heaven playing Feed The Birds to Walt right now.
