      @@LetsGoMum I hope you don't mind me asking a question, but regarding the skitube, I purchased the daily skitube add-on to our lift tickets. Does this enable us to go down to Bullocks Flat (and then back up) more than once per day (Like if we needed to go back to the car or into town)? Or does it just allow 1 trip up, 1 trip back per day?

    • @LetsGoMum
      @LetsGoMum  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there-so I think you mean you will drive to bullocks flat which is on the Thredbo road and park your car there and then catch the ski tube from bullocks flat to Perisher Valley Station? If it is a one-day ski tube ticket it will allow you to travel from bullocks flat up to Perisher and then Perisher back to bullocks flat. Any travel between Perisher Valley and Mount blue cow is free but they always check your tickets on and off at bullocks flat

    • @tangentiall
      @tangentiall 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LetsGoMum Thanks for replying so quickly! Yes, drive to Bullocks Flat, park the car for the day, then take the Skitube up to Perisher Valley. We have 3 days of lift tickets so I just added the skitube access while booking those. Just wondering if they allow multiple trips a day. Thanks for your help!

      @LetsGoMum  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tangentiall ah I see - to be honest I’ve never done more than one trip up and down with a day ticket and I believe it is only for one trip up and one back down but I’m not 100% sure on that. I’m sorry I can’t be more help there.

    What a great video!! I really enjoyed it. May I ask what many days will you recommend for a beginner? Myself is second time but other friends are first time.

    • @LetsGoMum
      @LetsGoMum  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your kind words! This is a tricky question to answer, of course it can depend on things like physical ability, age, whether or not you are having lessons, etc. It can be as quick as two or three days to be skiing independently down green runs for many beginners. For others it may take a week of consecutive lessons but usually even taking lessons they will have you up and skiing down trails in just a couple of days. Of course the longer you ski each day the more confident you get and the faster you learn, but I really recommend lessons to fast track skiing and boarding. I hope that helps, and have lots of fun!

    Would the goats gully trail from mid station of the quad express chairlift be good for a beginner?

    • @LetsGoMum
      @LetsGoMum  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is terrible, but we haven’t skied Perisher for about three years now but I’m pretty sure that Goats Gully is the one off to the midstation cafe heading back down and has quite a challenging pitch at the beginning so I would avoid that unless you are a fairly competent intermediate skier

    Go to smiggins or blue cow to learn easier terrain front valley gets very busy and dangerous.

    • @LetsGoMum
      @LetsGoMum  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. I think it’s all a matter of opinion - Smiggins is probably not my first choice for beginners, due to all the T bars, and the fact that it often thaws in the shoulder periods, however, I agree that blue cow is also a great place for beginners, though unfortunately blue cow lessons did not operate during the pandemic when this video was made 😊

    Hi this was great info!
    We are skiing for two days but staying in Jindabyne, so will be taking in the Ski-Tube from Bullocks flat both days. We are hiring ski gear for both days, can we return the gear at the end of the day and re-hire them for the next day so we don't have to carry the gear in our car?

    • @LetsGoMum
      @LetsGoMum  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could do that - I would probably hire them for the two days perhaps so you don’t have to go through waiting and getting them fitted each day, and you could pay for them to stay in the locker room over night or carry them which is a pain but it can be done - (you can fit two pairs of skis in a snow board locker I’m told!)

    for snow jackets, pants, and helmets; should you rent in perisher resort or stores outside perisher?

    • @LetsGoMum
      @LetsGoMum  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think they matter as much - as long as you’re happy with the fit. With skis etc. it’s better to rent them on-site so you can take them back to replace a size or adjust them.

    Hi there,
    This will be my third year with 3rd epic pass. Last year when we went there, most of the runs were closed because of bad weather. The blue ones were open and I enjoyed them without any trouble.
    Do you reckon I should go for black ones now as blue ones were pretty easy for me last time?

    • @LetsGoMum
      @LetsGoMum  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m in the same situation with my teenagers where they desperately want to try a black run and I’m nervous about it because black runs are very steep and difficult (from memory 😂). I haven’t done a black run for such a long time (I stoped skiing for years). I gave in and was planning on trying the kids down a black run - Devils Playground - last year near Rollercoaster but it was closed due to high winds and we never got to do it. I judged that one to possibly be the best one to start on as they could both ski Rollercoaster adequately which runs parallel to it. Rollercoaster is quite steep in places. They can also ski Mount Perisher and Zalis (on Mt Bluecow). I think these may all be DOUBLE blue dot runs which means they are harder than other blue runs - which blue runs were you skiing last year?
      Also, do you ski with a buddy?
      It’s always much safer to ski with someone else if possible, or keep to busier areas in case something goes wrong.
      Perhaps consider asking experienced skiers (maybe Perisher staff or if you have a ski instructor) there which one they regard as the easiest black run as a starter run.
      Whichever area you’re planning on skiing a black run in I would ask fellow skiers at the top, who hopefully have been down it more than once that day what the conditions are really like, too.
      For example if there has recently been snowfalls that can possibly make it easier to ski, but if it is icy or has gone to moguls even blue runs can suddenly seem like black runs!
      I’ve just googled for the easiest Blacker on at Perisher and there is still no clear answer but here is a link of a discussion on it on another website:
      www.ski.com.au/xf/threads/perisher-blacks-easiest-to-most-difficult.23211/
      Anyhow, I hope these suggestions help, and if any black run skier wants to comment here to help with suggestions, please do!!

    • @LetsGoMum
      @LetsGoMum  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends how you’re getting there-if you’re driving then you need to buy a ticket to get into the National Park as you can see in the video - you can catch the ski tube straight to Perisher, which there is also a charge for. Then when you were at Perisher if you want to go up a ski lift (and I’m not sure if you are allowed to without skis, but I think you can) then you would need to pay for a day lift ticket and those are quite expensive. If you just want to look at the snow there’s no need to go up to School if you can just walk around at the base of the hill.
