I did the tutorial but I’ll be damned if I didn’t forget damn near everything I learned as soon as I started story mode.😅 This game is a lot more complicated than I thought.
Yeah this is exactly what happened to me on day one of early access. Went into training to try and learn everything but about thirty minutes after that I forgot damn near everything 😅
Yeah, doing the tutorial tells you what to do. Practice is how it becomes muscle memory because the exact same thing happened even in XenoVerse. Couldn't remember what I just learned lol

Just to add on to the sparking tip! If you are in sparking mode you can do something called a charge dash strafe! Hold R2 and X to dash and then keep tapping R1 and your character will start to strafe/zigzag side to side as they are coming forward to their opponent leaving them to guess what you’ll do next

I havent played a tenkaichi game in a long ass time i felt so damn stiff not knowing what I was doing. The battle tutorial was greatly needed man GREATLY
@r..e7045 yee i think the one i spent the most time with recently was DragonBall FighterZ which i probably spent the most hours on with a fighting game ever. Id still play it now if the servers werent basically dead enjoyed the hell out of that. They need a Number 2 😂😂
@@yourcollegedebt8384same with me lol was over here thinking I’m on xenoverse had to back out and go to training, last time i played a tenkaichi series was like 2011 or so
The reasoning behind turning off recovery assist is because sometimes you can be in a downed state where you CANNOT be combo'd further. You can use this state to stay down longer and recover with (left, right, back, and recover) to strafe around and get your opponents back or perhaps bait them to shoot a beam that does nothing, then get up and punch em. Its not vital, but i can see uses for it.
For the great ape fight, you need to consistently dodge his blast, move by holding the stick in one direction and pressing X to move away quickly. Sparkling mobile will help you do a lot of damage. also if you do the ultimate of it and time it so he doesn’t block that also does a lot of damage
As is mentioned in the video, the biggest help by far was the battle training with Piccolo. Went from barely beating Ozaru Vegeta. To being undefeated up to the androids. Been using other characters too for the story. DO THE BATTLE TRAINING!! The tutorial barely covers what you need to know
Thank you for this video bro this has helped a lot i played budokai 1,2 and 3 when i was a kid an then a bit of the xenoverse series throughout the years but sparking zero has brought me back to the dbz game series and i am struggling to lock back in so this has helped a lot so thank you again brother!
for anybody playing on classic, theres a glitch in the game where if ur playing on classic and ur online opponent is on standard, ur gonna be locked out of ur second super

Went through the entire tutorial section and within minutes, pretty much forgot every offensive/defensive movement that didn't have some sort of resemblance of the older BT games LOL I'm definitely going to be heading back into training with Piccolo again. Good strategy for great ape is to hit L1 and Square during rush attacks to vanish behind him. I did that and won on my first try, also learned that from the tutorial so Lotus is right guys DO THE TUTORIAL lol 😂
Side step also takes a small amount of ki. So if you charge to minimum of your super then side step you wont pull off your super. But Lotus points on what to look out for and train are 100% valid
Maybe im vanish sidestepping somehow bc on his it has no ki loss but earlier I noticed my ki bar would go down a small amount around less than a quarter of a bar so something I gotta tech and practice
Just got to play today and this game had me in a SEALED box at 1st this video helped with counters immediately bro. Haven't played a DBZ game since Raging Blast
Really annoying to me that they don’t make the tutorial part of the game, considering how important it is. Even if it was skippable for those who don’t want, there are so many cool training things they could do, like progressing from Roshi to Kami to King Kai and learning different mechanics. It just drops you into story mode and makes no effort to tell you how important training is. And Raditz isn’t even required to beat, so everyone just gets housed by Vegeta. Good game but awful intro game design.
2:56 - I thought I was losing it because I felt like the game wasn’t taking my button inputs or doing things I did not want and I couldn’t figure out why. Thank you.
The chains, like xxxy or □□□△, can also change depending on which way you hold your left joystick when pressing y or △. You can send them upwards or into the ground or a side attack. ALSO heard you can deflect ULTIMATES with O or B if you have 3 skill points! Haven’t had a chance to try yet though.
Why ? Go to the training tab and read the instructions on how to do things don’t rely on this video it literall has nothing useful , we all know to go to trading to learn the controls.
@@Arkskii-gf03 i mean I get that but I'm a little incompetent when it comes to fighting games so I need some reminding, also I have a job so I only really play this game like two days out of the week. I'm loving it tho!

When it comes to recovery assist I found it better to have it off. Only because it opens up the ability for you to counter follow up supers with high speed movement (R1/R2) consistently instead of being hit during the recovery frames.
