One of the best singers no matter the genre he's now but I'll always miss him and his voice on Kamelot. I like Tommy's voice too but Khan's voice is unforgettable. I remember the first time I listen to Kamelot, the song was Wings of Dispair and I just loved how he changes his voice during the whole music. Good luck Roy Khan and thanks!
OH MY LORD THIS DAY IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! GOD BLESS ALL THOSE WHOM HELPED ROY COME TO THE LIGHT!!! WOW!!! ITS HARD TO BELIEVE BUT I STILL DO WOW!! THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY RIGHT NOW JUST WOW!!! TO GOD BE THE GLORY AMEN!
As a former fan of Kamelot, praise be to our Heavenly Father for calling Brother Khan to His side. He is immensely gifted and can offer much with a music ministry and by the power of the Holy Spirit, soften unbelieving hearts toward Jesus Christ.
I miss Roy in Kamelot, but all we can want for him is to find his true happiness. His voice is as incredible as ever and I'm glad he's still sharing it.
And just when I thought I couldn't love Roy any more, it makes me joyful to see someone unafraid to proclaim what is RIGHT and TRUE in dark times such as we live in now. God Bless You Roy!
+Yash Garland But if the only truth is subjective, including freedom. Then you only said what you did out of chemicals in your brain, I think you don't want this world to have meaning. Roy Kahn has found unity in diversity in the community of the trinity. The theme of Hell is rational certainty.
Roy Khan, from the philosophy of Memento Mori, the philosophy of Bertrand Russel and Santayana, to worship? You have no idea what this does for me, Epica talking of Utopias. This man has had his fair share of philosophy and comes to Unity in Diversity in the Community of the Trinity. Lord, catch my tears I'm crying. Praise be to YHWH the many God.
iam glad roy is so,so happy.roy one day he will have everything he wants.this is beautiful and I let my mom hear it and she was singing ,with tears coming down her face.she said you can feel the lord in his whole body
I so happy to hear Roy singing. If it makes him happy he may believe in what he want but there are a lot of christians in metal I can't see problem.. Anyway I'd even buy CD of his gospel songs because of his voice
Power Metal is Power Metal, not Rap music. If an artist like Roy Khan decides he wants to sing gospel music then that's his choice and we as his fans should respect his decision to do what makes him happy. However, I do wish that Roy Khan would come out with a gospel CD, maybe by an independent company so he doesn't have to feel swamped by the pressures of the music industry. Maybe one he founded himself so he can make music on his own time. I think he would do good to do such a thing because he would be spreading his faith to a demographic who probably wouldn't originally have an interest in Christianity. He'd be bridging two seamless gaps by touching Christians with his voice, and blessing his metal fan base with his faith. Roy Khan commands a lot of respect from his fan base and from the genera. There are a lot of people who would support him on this.
This man is just incredible, his voice so infectious I can feel his happiness as he sings it. This song does not have much melodic variety but Roy actually made it sound good. Everything he touches turn to gold. I truly hope he is happy with his life now then maybe one day he will decide to bless us all with his voice and music again.
Roy Khan is a phenomenal singer and I respect his decision. If he were to come back and sing christian music I probably wouldn't listen to it because I am not religious myself and I fell in love with Roy's darker and more theatrical style. That's just my opinion though. I'm just glad he's happy!
***** I imagine that if he does return to making music on a professional level that whatever his choices of lyrical inspiration, musically it's probably going to be a much softer endeavor than what he's done previously. Me I just hope that if he does choose to make his God and faith the primary focus of his music that he at least will write his own songs instead of using the typical church tunes like "Oh come All Ye Faithful" or "Oh Prince of Peace"
I just love it how Khan came back to God so the world would hear about this - he who was the main vocal of one of the most recognizable metal bands. I just love it! HA! Blessed be the Lord!
I played this for my mom because she leads the church in singing and plays piano and classical piano and she was singing and crying.trust me she dosent do it that much.miss kahn and I believe I will go to Norway when my sis goes to Europe.her wife is from the u.k[London].
I knew he'll be back with music. He can be any religion he wants. However I don't know if he'll ever go back to the way he expressed darkness in his songs. I'll have to listen to it to know. His voice is as beautiful as ever.
Ryan Nelson i loved him no matter, but it is so great he is a christian now, he has a great voice, i too could listen to him all day, matter of fact i listen to his cds most nights before i fall asleep, Black Halo is my favorite,
He lives his life as he feels convicted to, as you all live your own way. He is probably happy where he is. You can't blame someone for wanting to be happy. So he left Kamelot, get over it!
Wow. Great way to show your talent. Leaving a band like Kamelot which was made known by his enormous talent in songwriting and singing to sing in unknown churches in an unknown place. I have nothing against his religious beliefs but God gave him a gift and he should have continued to share it with the rest of the world. He's my favorite singer but I will never respect his decision to go away from the music industry, from Kamelot and from Metal.
He doesn't have to do anything. He has the right and obligation to live his life as he sees fit. If he felt that he needed to leave metal to achieve hapiness singing to god in a unknown little church is his decision. In my eyes you're only throwing a tantrum when you don't have any right to do so. I think you should try to be more considerate.
His voice and expression in this song can convert even a fanatic atheist.. If any Norwegian knows where you can find Roy singing (small event or church) , please pm me
"There is a god in each society. So right is wrong, where wrong is right, no one could be sure. And still we are certain that what we know is truth. The only truth. We're building our temples taller." - Where is the Roy who once wrote these lyrics? :(
So long as he's truly happy, who gives a shit if he's religious or not. It's selfish of me (and you) to want him to keep on singing ala Kamelot. I know plenty of closet Jesus followers that are Atheist (or whatever) because they feel like they're something special and being Atheist is being "different" (lol). Those people are assholes 99% of the time (since they don't believe in repercussion). Maybe if they found Jesus, they'd shut the fuck up and let everyone else get on. Nothing lasts forever, at least Roy didn't die in a plane crash or succumb to drugs like a shit-ton of other artists. Instead, he's happy singing Happy Day. Good for him!
I miss when Roy used to sing in 1993 MY DECISION : "I have no God to rely on Cause I am all I need Compared to a life in submission I do prefer my sins I seek, may find, may change I feel no guilt No confession will ever reach my lips Let my dreams unfurl Leave my pure desire Ill temper justice for mercy Cause they are blind to see That Gods the power within me The power to prevail Belief, betrayal, be true Belief, betrayal, be true Im no ones God Damn, Prodigal Son Let my dreams unfurl Leave my pure desire This is my decision" !!!
Ni siquiera sé qué decir...me ha impactado su tremendo cambio..desde su aspecto hasta el tipo de canciones que elige para cantar. Está bien por él, pero cómo escuchar March of Mephisto después de esto??
I completely respect his decision to leave the band but because of the way he's been furtive over the years, I hope he doesn't regret his years in metal :(
Si Roy lanzara una producción musical cristiana, sin duda alguna sería el primero en comprarlo. Una pena que ni su dirección electrónica esté a disposición.
This is going to End soon. He would be tired after a couple of years and will come back for more metal music. This is not a flu...He just wanted to feel God for a Little break. Thats nice :)
I am actually more surprised by his new appearance, looks like he is *really* trying to get away from the past power gothic metal persona. And yes that is actually him. tinypic.com/view.php?pic=i5u23b&s=5
I don't know how you got this tim unless you go to his church but thanks for posting.when I met kamelot 2 years ago everyone was nice but when I asked youngblood if him and kahn talked he was pissed off so I said sorry hows the family?i don't believe they left on good terms.
I don't mean to judge, but Kiske's "Christian" views are rather New Age-themed. It seems he doesn't believe in Jesus being salvation from sin, and he also doesn't believe in the Bible, which invalidates our entire faith. I can't say whether or not he truly is a Christian, but I don't really see how a Christian can be a Christian yet not believe in the Bible. :\
It may just be something got lost in translation or he used the wrong word, but it just kind of seemed a New Age-styled Christianity. Hopefully not though! I may not be a big fan of Kiske's voice, but I can't help but love seeing people being brothers and sisters in Christ. :)
jacobjedi2 Yeah, well. Discussing Religion is always a hard subject, everyone has a different view, of course. I'd rather respect their decision before judging them... not saying your judging, just commenting :D
I didn't care for them. I liked what I found when I first discovered them, but after diving a bit deeper the remaining songs sounded like generic power metal that simply added praises of god somewhere in the lyrics. Though perhaps I haven't dived deep enough into their discography to make a proper observation. Would you care to name a few I should listen to?
Apparently he's working in a local congregation in Moss (where I live). Though the article that I got that from is about a year old, so that could've changed since then...
Song isn't meant to convert anyone. Church songs are meant to worship and praise God. But yeah not a fan of most of it... Still he sounds good singing it.
He was possessed by a demon that caused him to make beautiful blasphemous music. Now that the demon is gone he's trying to repent in church. Honestly, I think he had a mental breakdown. Sometimes instead of getting real help people turn to religion. He's talked before about his family being Christian so that must be why he turned to it to seek comfort. I hope he comes back and gets the help he needs to perform again like he used to, it's a shame his powerful voice won't be shared anymore, but I don't know. It's already been 5 years, that's a long time to be lost in the void.
All well and good if he felt he had to leave metal then I can respect that. FYI for all the Christophobes, it's not a universal thing. There are plenty of devout, evangelical Christians in metal - Amy Lee and Tarja Turunen come to mind.
and further more, music doesn't always have to be dark and evil. If that's how you think than you are one-sided. Not everyone is going to like what you like. Get over it!!

I prayed such a long time for him and his family - I cry for joy listen to his God-given voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a happy day

I finally get WHY he did this. When the holy spirit and God grab you, it CHANGES YOU and it FEELS INCREDIBLE.
Whoever recorded this is my hero.
Roy Khan's voice still makes me cry, ooh man i look like a softie now, what a voice!!!!
So good to hear the best and most beautiful voice EVER! No matter what he sings, HE sings it! Roy
And just when I thought I couldn't love Roy any more, it makes me joyful to see someone unafraid to proclaim what is RIGHT and TRUE in dark times such as we live in now. God Bless You Roy!
What YOU believe to be right and true.
Matthew Phillips Maybe. But it's still subjective belief. And that doesn't make it an objective truth.
Matthew Phillips Same goes for you telling me that I am dumb.
Matthew Phillips Oh most certainly but until there is proof it can't be a fact.

It's great to hear him sing, that voice should never stop singing and i'm trudly happy for him for finding his path on Jesus.

Agreed. If he's going to go down this path, he could at least keep making his own material.
But hey, that's up to him...
from march to mephisto to this, is fantastic
glad to hear Roy singing , hope is is healthy and happy with his family
I have both the hope and faith of singing with Roy in heaven one day.
Whatever genre music it is, i still hear power metal as long as voice of him... :)
I'm just happy to hear him sing. I thought he stopped completely - and that would be a huge loss.
lo celestial de su voz jamás se perderá!! I pray for you sweet Roy!!
2023 o cara cantando como nunca
Awesome, Glad you are saved Roy
roy khan , we miss and love you . have a good calm peacefull life, may god never let you burnout , and never let you give in saddness
So glad to hear him singing again!
Although I'll miss him in Kamelot; I'm very glad to hear him still singing!

I'm just glad Roy is singing again!
This is beautiful.
Me alegra mucho por Roy que lleve una buena vida.
Pero en ocasiones lo extraño mucho en Kamelot.
Opino lo mismo.

His voice is amazing. God bless him.
FOREVER.. we will follow you Roy

Amazing to hear this. Although, I have to say songs like 'Abandoned' will convert someone before this song will.
I knew he'll be back with music. He can be any religion he wants. However I don't know if he'll ever go back to the way he expressed darkness in his songs. I'll have to listen to it to know. His voice is as beautiful as ever.
Amen Roy!

My mother now thinks that he is amazing. Since had turn to Christ she told me that she could listen to his voice all day and not grow tired of it.

Roy Khan touring with Stryper ... this would be awesome! To Hell With the Devil!
That...would be...incredible!
Roy Khan and Stryper will be good...
Really nice
His voice is great for anything. Although to me it's no wonder that he can sing gospel so well, I mean you can hear inspiration at work here.
I want a song with HB, Roy and Johanna :D
Yes, PLEASE, that would be epic!
Pkferni ❤❤ that would be awesome..
and a music with Theocracy too.

ooooh happy day😂
can't take those lyrics serious but his voice❤
Yes, Dave, mee too - we will!
I miss when Roy used to sing in 1993 MY DECISION : "I have no God to rely on
Cause I am all I need
Compared to a life in submission
I do prefer my sins
I seek, may find, may change
I feel no guilt
No confession will ever reach my lips
Let my dreams unfurl
Leave my pure desire
Ill temper justice for mercy
Cause they are blind to see
That Gods the power within me
The power to prevail
Belief, betrayal, be true
Belief, betrayal, be true
Im no ones God

Let my dreams unfurl
Leave my pure desire

Neueregel Conception!!!
He is happy, I'm happy.
He actually looks grorgeous in his suit in the visual, and still some khan-like movements, though toned down.
I completely respect his decision to leave the band but because of the way he's been furtive over the years, I hope he doesn't regret his years in metal :(
me alegra que busque de DIOS
Si Roy lanzara una producción musical cristiana, sin duda alguna sería el primero en comprarlo. Una pena que ni su dirección electrónica esté a disposición.
I hate religion and i miss you Roy! I hope you come back to Metal! I'm very sad for that.
Right now the only thing I can say is this: OMG!
Nydelig tekst og melodi kjære svigersønn
This is going to End soon. He would be tired after a couple of years and will come back for more metal music. This is not a flu...He just wanted to feel God for a Little break. Thats nice :)
I am actually more surprised by his new appearance, looks like he is *really* trying to get away from the past power gothic metal persona. And yes that is actually him.

what if god dose not exist and khan was god. i think thats more i like it =D
I don't know how you got this tim unless you go to his church but thanks for posting.when I met kamelot 2 years ago everyone was nice but when I asked youngblood if him and kahn talked he was pissed off so I said sorry hows the family?i don't believe they left on good terms.
Imagine Roy and Kiske prasing God together?! :')
I didn't know of that
It may just be something got lost in translation or he used the wrong word, but it just kind of seemed a New Age-styled Christianity.
Er dette tatt opp i Moss frikirke?
Roy should go back to singing for kamelot. The new guy doesn't have that airy sound in his voice and doesn't quite hit the IT factor.
Patrick Huskey
Totally with you and still referring to him as "the new guy". ;)
He's a nice listen but too much the try of a copy.
There's a reason I can't stand Christian music, it's repetitive and lacks flow, but I am glad to hear him singing again.
go listen to theocracy. Christian metal.
I know about them, they're okay.
The lyrics are... okay. They're at least tolerable compared to most of the preachy, uninspired Christian songs sung at your local church.
+Bringer of the Doom OKAY?!?! Theocracy is top notch, man! Up there with Kamelot, Symphony, X, etc. for me.
How did you get this?? Where is Roy now??
Apparently he's working in a local congregation in Moss (where I live). Though the article that I got that from is about a year old, so that could've changed since then...
hope he enjoy his new life, but it sucks never hearing his voice in rock again.christianity is just a trend but rock is forever-
He need a new band ;)
Song isn't meant to convert anyone. Church songs are meant to worship and praise God. But yeah not a fan of most of it... Still he sounds good singing it.
He was possessed by a demon that caused him to make beautiful blasphemous music. Now that the demon is gone he's trying to repent in church.

sounds a bit like Rene Froger this way haha
All well and good if he felt he had to leave metal then I can respect that. FYI for all the Christophobes, it's not a universal thing. There are plenty of devout, evangelical Christians in metal - Amy Lee and Tarja Turunen come to mind.
not bad
This is dark
and further more, music doesn't always have to be dark and evil. If that's how you think than you are one-sided. Not everyone is going to like what you like. Get over it!!
Are you implying that Kamelot is evil?
not at all but the subject matter of some of their later work was dark in content
true everyone has a dark side, I'm just saying maybe Roy needed a change and who can blame him for that?
Scott Taylor
Sure. If something isn't right for someone, then it's not. Simple as that. The man must do what he feels is right.
Fun fact, though; the church that he works in -- Moss Frikirke (Moss free-church) -- is actually close by to where I live.
