Everytime I tell my coworkers I have a freshwater pet shrimp they side eye me😂
Bombastic Side Eye?
i love my skrimps but the part about cleaning the tank is a lil bit of an exaggeration lol. they do eat up a lot of the mess but there is still work involved with keeping them. still recommend tho, because it's a lot less work than many other aquatic species!!
Mine died couple days ago cus I added one rock and the general hardness changed
always clean your tanks!
unless you understand the nitrogen cycle and water parameters to make a fulls self sustained ecosystem
@@kaptrap I have a 10 gallon tank if I clean my tank every few days do I have to cycle the tank (I'm new any tips?)
@YoGav. Cycling isn't something that a human does like cleaning, cycling is a natural thing that will occur anytime there is ammonia present in water.
Even if you don't "manually cycle" your tank and just put fish or shrimp in, the cycle will start, this is called the fish-in cycling method. But this runs the risk of ammonia rising beyond the fish's comfort level thus they will stress and die. That's the reason why aquarists tell you to cycle your tank before putting in livestock, either by adding pure ammonia or fish food and letting it rot. So when the fish is added, the bacteria that turns ammonia (harmful) into nitrites (harmful) into nitrates (harmful at 20ppm) is already present and processes the fish's waste into safe nitrites. But this nitrite will still be harmful at a concentration of 20 parts per million (PPM), this is why you need to do routine water changes or fill the tank with plants to suck up the nitrites and use it as food. Hope this helps!

They are the fruit of the sea.
They're the cockroaches of the sea. They swim around eating detritus, bacteria/biofilm, and fish poop.
@@joesteadman343 how about this one...So- there is a myth permeating that roaches and shrimp are "literally" the same thing, because if you are "allergic" to one, you are "allergic" to the other....here is the truth to the thing:
Roaches are Arthropoda, the same group that contains other insects and several other multi legged weirdos. Shrimp are Crustaceans, like lobsters and some other similar creatures. While Mattie insect allergies are certainly a thing, most allergies to any type of sea life are actually an allergy to something awful in the water table that the unfortunate water creatures have absorbed into their spongelike flesh. For instance, the mercury and other poisons that can be found in ocean salmon and tuna are often the culprit of a fish allergy, not the fish flesh itself.
Well, most commercially available shrimp- the ones in most restaurants, or the ones on ice at Sam's Club, are farmed in huge, disgusting vats-pools in Southern Asian Countries, like the Philippines Archipelago. These cats are literally cesspools of filth- dead shrimp, shrimp skins, shrimp shit, etc. Being such large and odorous pools that are located in tropical hot zones, they are magnets for the enormous tropical rats, roaches, and God knows what other jungle weirdos that occur in such places. The vermin come for shrimp crap tartar, but often end up drowning in the filth, or getting squished by some poor "farmer" who is trying to tend to the pools. Thus, the water becomes saturated with extra roaches filth, which in turn is absorbed and eaten by the shrimp. Sooo...by the time it gets to your plate, the shrimp flesh can be packed solid with roach shit, and tons of other filth. If a person with allergies consumes these shrimp, they have a reaction, often a terrible one, and are deemed "allergic to shrimp". And if that person is already allergic to roaches or insects, it's easy to see how they would assume that "shrimp and roaches are the same- so similar that they cause the same allergic reaction." Pretty crazy stuff. Bottom line is that you should always check the source if the seafood you eat. Ocean caught shrimp are available and are considerably healthier, but they are more money. And I am willing to be the ones available at fast food joints are from the "farms". Anyways, bon appetite....🍽🪳🦐🍤🍣🍱
are talking about giant isopod.
@@AmsMuize9623 Naw...shrimp are the fruit of the sea, Giant Isopods are the Hell Spawn WTF Zombie Space Monster Potato Bugs of the Sea
@@AmsMuize9623 Isn't that related to the "rollie pollies?" I think I remember learning they're some of the oldest organisms in school.
They are the backbone of aquariums, eating algae and waste food and have very very small bio loads meaning you can keep large amounts of them without it causing many issues and as an added bonus theyre so easy to breed and you can sell them for profit, whats not to love
I had one in high school, he used to copy off me during tests.
Yo for real mine too and then the damn teacher be taking points off my tests cause I was cheating when I was trying to tell my teacher that it was my shrimp.
mine committed identity fraud
I had 3 of them during my junior years. I was in the front, so chances are i could of had 4.
They are such an interesting pet. I like how they search for food with their many legs & stuff their faces. It is also hilarious when they swim backwards.
They are also food
One of mine picked up a fish flake and chowed down for a solid five minutes. I watched the whole thing go down.
There are three types of people in the world
1. "Its easy to keep cherry shrimps!! It takes no effort at all"
2. "Cherry shrimp are very sensitive, they can easily die from even just nitrites or nitrates. Theyre some of the more delicate aquatic pets"
3. "Lmao why do you keep shrimps as pets are you gonna eat them"
Hahaha that's pretty accurate 😆
Yeah 😂
Somehow im all 3
Same here.
My girlfriend already said I have a shrimp
We've all been there bro
Happens to the best of us 😅
Number six if you start with like 10, a year later you will have 1000s because they breed so quickly
So 5 is good lol?
@@Lssjg702well if so you won’t be able to see them depending on the tank size, and the bigger the group of shrimp the more comfortable they’ll be coming out of their hideouts.
Because knowing they have a chance of breading for females and males in the group
Females are know to hide and release “Perfume” when they shed to indicated for breading
So it’s best to have 10 to have 5/5 of females and males to have a higher chance of breading theses shrimp
I do love my flip shrimp!! Knowing Rob has a bit of trouble with colors it would've been funny when he was listing colors to have them be the wrong ones lol. Happy new year y'all!
"The easiest pet to keep"
Imagine when i have a mantis shrimp
Number 6 : *backup food.*
Hahah😂😂😂
Smallest prawn cocktail ever
Their like the size of shrimp ramen size 😅
If bro said you can also eat them when your hungry💀
"easiest pet to keep" 💀💀💀💀
Cardina shrimp die if the water is a hair off, I’ve kept tons of them and their either hit or miss. At the moment I’ve got 5 tanks with shrimp but only 3 are breeding, the others are just living life molting away
I love shrimp! I’m the proud new owner of Amano Shrimp I bought from Flip Aquatics. They are fascinating to watch, and I could sit and watch them all day. ❤😊
Thanks so much for your support :) we appreciate it so much
Please they are sooo cute!!
I haven't fed or cleaned my shrimp tank in 2 years and it still looks good with thriving shrimp.
I am gonna get red pintos and orange Sakuras next month!
their super cute until you realize you gotta order them because your pet store doesn't sell them and you gotta pay 60$ for just 2 ghost shrimp :)
Bro, i felt like i was in their little shrimp community.
Joining in the Band.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have a big pickle jar and an old school fishbowl I’m turnin’ into live planted shrimp and snail tanks💯🌱🦐💙🔥
Best shrimp prying mantis shrimp and put ur finger next to it also it gives u a fist bumb (totally not deadly)
You make it sound so easy…but since I have been doing research, there is quite a bit to do and consider and well as quite an expense.
Extremely easy to keep 😂😂😂😂
I prefer fish because of the bond you get with them but shrimp seem good too
I feed my pet lobsters and my pet goldfish shrimp :)
I didn't even know this was a thing these are so cute, I have pet brine shrimp but of course that's not the same thing.
I want to raise shrimps just so I can always eat them . That being said idk if I could eat it if it was my pet 😂😂
I want one but, but dad said “it’s too hot they are going to die” and my guppies are literally still alive after surviving extreme heat because I put tarp to cover them from the sun’s heat and my fish tank has so much algae now and I hate it so much. Like *JUST HELP BUY ME A CHERRY SHRIMP*
I'd say little to no tank maintenance is needed if the tank is bioactive...
I guess you don’t have to do much compare to keeping other pets but keeping water parameters the same is the most challenging part as they are sensitive to any changes in water conditions.
Not sure about getting shrimp but I do want to get some neon rainbows from you 😀👍🏻
My shrimp after I miss one water change: adios
If only there were purple shrimp
Shrimps are hard af to keep let alone get them to breed
I agreed, I’ve testing my tank peramiters and it lead to a high GH,KH I can’t seem to locate why I’m having these results?
And this lead to stress my past shrimp not being able to molt and die of stress 😢
Yep. My shrimp are more work than my horses.
Can I call them today and I’m already falling in love with
I been very interested in the shrimp hobby. I been noticing in videos that the gravel you use I see in all the other shrimp videos. Could you please tell me what that is and why it’s used for shrimp? I’m trying to educate myself before getting shrimp.
Number 6: Makes a great snack
nah they aree too small you probably wouldnt even taste it
Only useful part of buying shrimp
@@capmario-I just ate shrimp it's good
@@Megamindforehead. they bussin but these aint the ones you buying they the size of your thumb nail
In Asia that small shrimp is actually tasty, Japanese called them ebi, it's even tastier if it is salty.
Not me searching up snake and not shrimp
And number 4 FREE SEA FOOD!!
Instructions unclear my shrimp died on my first day
hey why would I get a SHRIMP instead of a dog. Dogs are soft, cute, and yippee
basically grow your own food for larger fish as well!
#6 they make a great snack
Wow so colorful! Mine is clear 😍
A transparent shrimp? Cool! Can you see its organs?
@@IAmTrulyTheHonoredOne yes! 🥰 One time its stomach turned greenish because it ate my aquarium plants 😅
@@ChannelBx woah! Rip to those plants :( Do you know what kind of shrimp you have?
@@IAmTrulyTheHonoredOnemost likely ghost shrimp. If you think that’s interesting, look into ghost catfish as well. You can see all of their bones, very cool.
Honestly I want like a shrimp farm yes for consuming 😅
today i get some wild shrimp as a pet😃😃😃😃
Plot twist: the shrimp will jump😂😂😂
ok im buying a shrimp
I getting cherry shrimp
shrimp are kinda cool. (i have 17 tanks)
1. I caught one from a park and its very fast not so easy lol😂
Guys, can I keep ‘em with my bettas? There’s so much controversy around this and I wanna know once and for all, should I add them with my bettas?
I’ve seen it done, don’t have any yet but I have a betta and have frequented the betta and shrimp subreddits for a while, and the consensus I’ve seen so far (take this with a grain of salt since I’m not an expert) is that they can live happily, but it’s always possible your fish sees the shrimp and goes “ah thanks for the snack :)” and there go your shrimp. Some I’ve seen live comfortably with shrimp, others I’ve read about just ate them. What kind of tanks do you have? The thing that I worry about is the shrimp breeding too much and crowding my betta in his tank so I’m looking into the possibility of trying to get all male shrimp so maybe I won’t have to worry about this problem.
U can do but very risky I personally wouldn't unless a very big tank min 20 gallon
@@Defonotshaan really? I have a 10 gallon for my betta and was considering getting just a couple but am looking into ways I could prevent or reduce breeding first so they wouldn’t overpopulate my tank since I want my betta to have plenty of room. Why wouldn’t you recommend for a smaller one if you don’t mind sharing?
Ghost shrimp we also very cheap too
Add them to your fish tank and they'll clean the water naturally by eating all the fish poop
fun snacks
I’m very new to this hobby I’m not sure… do they eat their own waste?you mention they clean the tank for you. Please explain thank you
I named him Simon
I love srimp
I like eating,shrimp 🥰

They also for some reason creation demonic circle for sacrificing. Lol
Mine always die after a few days!?
I'm wanting to get pet shrimp, I do have a few questions
Are you able to have fish with them? (If so what kinds)
And can they be in the same tank as a snail?
Hi there! You can have them with fish but the fish need to be small enough that they can’t eat them! They can also be kept with snails! We have a section on our website of fish we recommend as tank mates for shrimp!
@@LupDiesel thank you so much, I'll check that out
Number #6 : food
One of the easiest pets will how come I died two days ago
Can they be a fish tank with fish?
As long as the fish aren't big enough to eat them!
Do they need hearter
idk abt easiest
Hardest species I've ever had to try to keep alive. You can do everything right and the little bastards still die.😂😂
Where do you get them
We offer them on our website! www.flipaquatics.com
1 thing i hate abt it
u cant play with them and go oustide with them like real dogs or cats
How to order??
What about water changes
if i have ghost shrimp with java moss and a betta fish plus 3 snails do i need to feed them still? i got shrimp food but i dont know if i need too cause theyve been eating the java moss and waste
You still need to feed them, because they prefer the actual food not just mosses and plants
@@Someone-by6jm how much would you recommend? i have those shrimp food tablets but i dont want to overfeed them if there already getting some food from the java moss
Do the get any bigger
5 reasons not to have shrimp
5: short lifespan
4: sensitive
3: bad personality
2: shy
1: planaria outbreaks
4 is wrong
Shrimp name?
Wow
I thought they were easy to keep but I have bought them like 5 different times but they always die like a day or 2 after 😢
your doing it wrong
Changing environments quickly for them stresses them out and may cause them to die.
It's not that they aren't easy to keep. It's more likely your incompetence
I just did
One question-how many is the minimum you can buy?
It depends on what kind you are buying! Our caridina shrimp are sold as singles, but neocaridina shrimp start at 5 or 10 packs.
@@LupDiesel where I would buy them from sell Cherry Shrimp
Shrimp ain't worth the stress
