So, thanks to them, they've manage to upgrade me from psxFin to ePSXe, a MUCH better emulator that previously refused to work at all with this game! No cutting off from the bottom screen! No crashing during gameplay! The joy is real! If you want to know how to get this game to work on it, see on the bottom of the description.
Now a few days ago, I've said, in this very video description, that with great hopes also comes with new obstacles, and the only obstacle was the tedious workaround of replaying the music without having the very beginning of the music glitch up. However, I've actually found another workaround that lets you replay even faster than the normal "pause-and-reset"; just use savestates! So this emulator is absolutely perfect to use for anyone!
As far as I know, the hotkeys default to F1 for Save State and F3 for Load State (I'm not sure if they can be modified). Just simply put a Save State right before the moment you start (so either while the "Keep The Current CD" option is selected when choosing "All Tracks", or while selecting a track on any other category ("Single Track" or "Speed")), and if you want to reset the track, just Load State and play again!
Oh yeah, and the beatmap's easy. But I love this music, so I don't care.
Caddicarus does a pretty good job at explaining what the blooming hell this game is, and in fact, the sole reason I even knew this game existed: • [OLD] Vib Ribbon - Cad... I wish there would be a PC port for this game...

Chunks of Martoon's tutorial were used to make this tutorial, and with some help with HomeStarRunnerTron: ngemu.com/threads/heres-how-to...
1) Get a CD/Disc Burner, with examples being MagicISO and PowerISO (I use the former).
2A) PowerISO: Select the "New" dropdown arrow, then "Audio CD". Add whatever MP3s you want to play, click "Save", choose your destination, and bam, a .bin and .cue files appear!
2B) MagicISO: Select the "File" dropdown arrow, then "New", then "Audio CD Image". Add whatever WAVs you want to play EXCEPT for the first track (since the game doesn't detect it for some reason), then select "File", then "Save As". File destination, acquire .bin and .cue files. If you want a small file to use as the first track, you can use the following: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3...
3) Run the ePSXe emulator, then run the vib-ribbon's CUE file (not BIN, this is important).
3.5) IF, for some reason, the game doesn't appear to load, download the following file provided by Martoon (I uploaded on DropBox for convenience): dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3... Then, extract the registry key, double-click it, and confirm. Repeat Step 3. You can open the file with a Notepad if you're paranoid about it.
4) Go into the Main Menu of the game (where it lets you choose between Vib-Ribbon music or custom music), press ESC, then go to File, into Change Disc, into ISO. Select the custom .cue file you've made.
5) Go to Run, into Continue. Have fun. (Or don't, if you're attempting to perfect a ridiculously unfair/hard beatmap) - เกม
im amazed how a game this old can play any song and have no need for anyone to tell it when to bring the obstacles, shame it's quite expensive and hard to play on emulators :/

It's nice that Parappa The Rapper and vib-ribbon allows you to do unnecessary inputs without just slapping you in the face, that's the exact reason why I like parappa the rapper games and *CRAVE* for a third part

A rhythm game from 2000 that able to generate its own obstacle, meanwhile you must make your own map on rhythm games like OSU so other people can play it.
Well vib ribbon just generates obstacles, game-generated osu maps would probably be very primitive and a lot harder to program
Most modern rhythm games are far too complicated to make a suitable algorithm or program to auto generate charts that are anywhere comparable in quality to what can be done by people. You might be able to get away with that for more traditional binary input type rhythm games, but many include much more dynamic and space related elements which are not only practical to the gameplay's difficulty but also it's visual aesthetic. I don't think it would be impossible, but it would be very VERY difficult beyond the capabilities for indie rhythm games, and professional rhythm games typically have a different market model which would be incompatible with autogeneration, namely selling additional song charts.
The biggest issue with Vib-Ribbon is that for most songs, the obstacles barely ever line up with the music, due to the simplicity of the game's design. So it ends up that AbeX300 (the uploader) has to do extra movements to make it seem like the game actually syncs up. It's not a problem of AbeX's, it's a very well made video, but it really shows the extreme limitations of the game.

This isn't randomized even! The game generates exactly the same path everytime you play the same song!
It fits into 2Mb of RAM and can create courses based on anything you throw at it.
Now how about that for a ps1 game?

I don't know what this game is, or why it is on my recommended 6 years later but it's awesome.
Its a rhythm game where you play as a rabbit named vibri (i think shes a rabbit anyway) and you play courses, there are 7 you can play from the start (including the tutorial) After that you can put in cds and it will generate a course for you

Dancing queen is my grandmas favorite song, and when i was little she used to play this a lot. So, this gives me a lot of nostolgia. She's still alive to this day, by the way.
