I am so sick of the way people talk about Travis Kelce as if he is an idiot and I hate that people equate him to a dog. Anybody who watches his podcast can tell that he is a smart guy who is both self-aware and self-deprecating. The idea that tweets he made when he was 20 years old is in any way reflective of who he is now is ridiculous. Everyone seems to agree that Taylor Swift is a genius, so do you really think she would be with someone who has the intelligence of a "golden retriever?" I have a beginner's understanding of football, but I understand enough to know that to play the sport the way that Travis Kelce does, you have to be exceptional at processing a huge amount of information in a matter of seconds- reading defenses, understanding leverage, etc.- and then be able to take decisive action under hostile circumstances in front of thousands of people. It is so sad to me how reductive people are in their analysis of him. Also, his emotional intelligence is off the charts. As the mother of a teenage boy, I wish I could ask him how he and his brother have managed to excel in such a physically aggressive and competitive sport while still being able to express such sweet emotional vulnerability. To someone who is trying to raise a man with a healthy relationship to his emotions, they give me hope.

Well-stated! You’re spot on in your analysis. He’s an adult yet people talk about him as if he’s a dumb jock 20-something. Far from it!
I think TS is fully aware that she is lucky to have this MAN in her life.

Absolutely agree. This podcast started playing automatically after another finished and I didn't even make it all the way through because it was all so condescending. The man will be a first-round hall of famer and has accomplished more than the vast majority of the players in the league ever will. He's widely considered the best ever to play his position by coaches, teammates, and even rivals. Spend even five minutes listening to interviews where players/coaches talk about his abilities to read defenses and see holes in coverages, or what a fantastic teammate and leader he is. You cannot do any of that without a high level of intelligence and a level of talent only an elite few possess. I don't even spend a ton of time on sm and Ive seen comments on his pressers/interviews saying Tree has trained him well. Umm, no. He's a professional athlete that's been dealing with the media for his entire career, not some imbecile that's never given an interview before. He's not Ken. He has a life and a very successful career--even beyond football--outside of Taylor.
And honestly, I hate being that person, but imagine if the genders were reversed here and a podcast went on for ten minutes essentially saying "she's so sweet and cute and pretty but it's got to be really refreshing for her boyfriend to be around someone without a single thought in her head."
I also find it so gross the way people equate lack of spelling ability with lack of intelligence (things like dyslexia exist) or act like because he has a high level of admiration for Taylor that it somehow makes him some puppy following her around. He talks about all the people he cares for that way. Because he's an evolved human that's genuine in his appreciation for those he's close to. (Also for people he barely knows--watch the videos of the charities he's involved in.)
One last point because tbh I'm so irritated that i've been compelled enough to write an entire paragraph about a guy I do not know and will likely never meet, and whose life has absolutely no impact on mine whatsoever, but if there's one thing that really stands out about him, its his innate kindness and acceptance toward and for others. If you watch his podcast, the man never drags people down. He's always there to rein in his brother when he starts to get too judgemental. (Jason is still also an amazing human.) Honestly Travis even managed to be gracious to Aaron Rodgers, so the bar is high. Lots of people could learn more than a few lessons from him.

One of my key takeaways from Kelce's WSJ interview is that he desires to be a fountain and not a drain on other people. How amazing and wonderful is that! I wish more people (including myself) took that approach to life. I totally agree with your point about his kindness. Let's talk about the fact that he called his mother after her TV interview (where she said hanging out with Taylor was "ok" because she wasn't sure how to respond) to reassure her because he knew that she was probably second-guessing what she said. He saw the interview; he knew his mother well enough to know that she was probably upset; and he wanted to make her feel better. No one had to tell him to call her- he did it because he is sensitive and intuitive. Finally, to your point about what lessons he could give, the WSJ reporter asked Kelce what he could teach Taylor and (according to the reporter) Kelce was shy and unsure of what he might be able to offer her (because it's pretty clear from the article that Kelce thinks that Taylor hung the moon). I have a couple of suggestions. I would not consider myself a Swiftie but I have watched a number of Swift's interviews and also listened to her music. Based on what she has said, it seems like she still has a lot of childhood insecurity as well as a certain amount of generalized anxiety that she is carrying around with her. She has also referred to herself as a "pathological people pleaser." I genuinely believe that Travis Kelce has figured out how to be comfortable in his own skin (while still being aware of his shortcomings). He doesn't seem to let the noise of other people's opinions impact his self worth or how he goes about his life. In fact, on the football field, he thrives on opposing fans' hostility towards him. I think he could help show Taylor a way of being that would allow her to let some of her baggage go.

They act like the only type of intelligence that exists involves vocabulary and diction. Listen to Travis explain the differences in types of defensive coverages and how that relates to corresponding adjustments needed to for the offense and tell me that man is not highly intelligent.

I know that you meant the doofus comment in an endearing way and not to hate on Travis, but he may come off as al funny doofus, he's pretty damn smart. He wouldn't have gotten this far in his career and be so revered and respected, if he was the stereotypical dumb jock.

Travis is considered the greatest tight end in football. Maybe the greatest ever. To memorize the plays and play at this level means he is very smart. Your prejudge against sports people is pretty petty. He writes like he’s dyslexic but if you had any idea the stuff he has to memorize to play at the top of the NFL you would be mind blown. You would hate a football vlog that calls Taylor a dog. So please be less nasty. They are both at the top of their field and that is impressive. He has 100 million saved so he’s not like a guy down the street.

This entire discourse is so disrespectful to travis. The man’s going to be a first ballot hall of famer in one of the most complex sports in the world. You think he’d understand everything there is to understand about different coverages, schemes and plays while being “dumb himbo”. Imagine travis fans talking about Taylor in such a manner, swifties would go crazy. Why is it that just because he’s impressed by her intelligence, he has to be dumb? Were judging this guy based on his tweets 13 years ago. I get why her boyfriends have always hated the media and swifties, don’t need to belittle them to raise Taylor. She’s great enough by herself.

You guys did a good job with talking about tough subjects! As far as Travis, I think he is smarter than what we are giving him credit for. As someone that also is very much in my feelings, in my head and one to see the world a bit different than most, it is better to have a partner like this as they often bring us down to earth and allow us to live more in the moment and get out of our own head a bit. I love that she has someone like him and vice versa! His emotional intelligence is higher than most and that's the most important!

For people that are concerned about the concerts in São Paulo: 1st of all, the stadium where it's happening was built with concerts like this in mind, which was not the case for the one in Rio that was built for the Pan-Am games. 2nd, São Paulo is not as hot as Rio right now, not even close. 3rd, São Paulo is way safer for tourists than Rio.

As a Brazilian fan: The problem was T4F. There are huge festivals all year round in Rio and everything goes pretty smoothly. The thing is, even we couldn't expect that heatwave and weather to go the way it did, it was pretty harsh even for us and T4F also messed up by not taking it seriously. Another thing that happened was the fan situation, to me, It was pretty insensitive the way her team handled it and I'm not blaming Taylor here at all, it's just that for the way she interacts with fans you would think she would go above and beyond to do something special for her, but we can never predict how someone is going to react to something like this, it was pretty shocking. WITH ALL THAT BEING SAID...Rio is always doing the most and I would advise anyone who wants to go there to visit other places in Brazil first.

Because of Ana's death I used videos for kids to teach my 8 year old daughter about heat exhaustion and heat stroke. We are ordering 2 Resqme tungsten keychain tools to have in each of our cars in case we see a child, or even an animal, locked inside a car in the Texas heat. These tools safely break car windows and can also cut through seat belts. I wanted to do something meaningful in Ana's memory. Maybe if more people understood heat stroke warning signs then more lives could be saved. Seek medical help right away for someone hot who is no longer sweating. If a body can no longer sweat it's in real bad trouble.

Thanks ladies! So happy eagles won, great game! And Jason played so well. He changed calls on the line and had major blocks! WSJ was like a feast! He didn’t look too shabby either! But I do think he is a smart, well rounded guy. Just because he’s not in that artsy world, and technicality and creativity of directing etc., just makes him a regular guy, in a different lane, like a normal person lol….and frankly most Hollywood or limelight relationships works better if the spouse is outside of that world. He is. He’s a normal dude who plays football. Athletes don’t really mix with that scene.

The girl's death was a series of mistakes, including on Taylor's part. Even if people could enter with water, it wouldn't have been enough. How much water would you have to bring to a 4-hour show, where the heat index is 140°F? Over a thousand people fainted during the show because of the heat. The only way to have prevented Ana's death would have been to cancel the show.
Everyone knows that the artist has the power to cancel the show, but Taylor didn't do it. Even the next day, after over a thousand people fainted, a fan died, and the weather forecast warned that it would be hotter than the day before, she canceled the show only 2 hours before, after fans waited all day in line in sweltering heat. To me, it just shows that it was Taylor who didn't want to cancel the show.
Her new boyfriend, Travis Kelce, said a week before the show in Brazil that Taylor hated postponing her shows and boasted about performing in adverse weather conditions. Is she boasting about the show on 11/18, where Ana died?
I don't know the answer to that question. All I know is that Ana's death only warranted a story on Taylor's Instagram.
Not to mention, she said the fan died before the show, which is a lie because Ana started feeling unwell during Taylor's second song. Another false news circulating in the American press is that Taylor called the family of the fan who died to offer condolences-this is a LIE. The Brazilian press contacted Ana's mother, and she said that didn't happen.
I was reading the news in the major US newspapers, and my God, how can the media spread news without concrete sources, based on posts from random people on social media?
And now Taylor's American fans are attacking Brazilian fans with xenophobia, portraying Taylor as the victim. A 23-year-old girl who was about to graduate in psychology in April lost her life, but poor Taylor, right?
At least Brazilian fans aren't a bunch of jerks because they organized a fundraiser for Ana's family to cover the transportation of her body from Rio to the state where she lived and where her family lives. While American fans are busy spreading xenophobia on the internet, Brazilian fans have come together to help the family bring their daughter's body home.
Taylor's image has changed significantly for the Brazilian press and fans. On 11/17 when she arrived, everyone was applauding, but the facade of the artist who cares about fans, important causes, who faces whoever needs to be faced for a good cause... all of that has crumbled.

Regarding the public reaction to the whole thing here in Brazil: the lack of action to not postpone the concert earlier rubbed people in the stadium the wrong way. They are in that oven for 8 HOURS before the announcement. Some people spent their life savings on this, this kind of concert is extremely expensive for the avarege Brazilian. So for the people going on Twitter to bash the brazilian fans, put yourself in their shoes for a bit before you come calling names.
Also, the fact that the fans had to crowd fund the transportation of Ana's body on top of her parents having to take a loan at a bank for the funeral is just revolting for some fans. People are mad. And rightfully so. If you think that anger is misplaced, I would mostly agree. But to me at least Taylor and her team being basically silent and not doing anything to help is not a good look for her at all.
Either way, love the podcast, been here because of Travis but stayed because of you guys, fun listen. Sad that this happened and just trying to put foward some information from here in Brazil

No chance she can or will speak until the investigation is done. An autopsy and tox screen will need to come back and officials will need to complete the process. No legal team would permit her speaking or taking action now, as it can create implied responsibility.
Also, where is the President of Brasil? He demanded answers from the event company in 24 hrs, right? That was last week. He knows about this and did nothing to get Ana home? Why would the local and national government leaders do nothing for their own people?

One thing is anger but people sending death threats and wishing Taylor to be dead is another. There is an investigation ongoing therefore Taylor would have been advised not to contact the family or send money as it could be perceived as pressure or bribe until there is an outcome of that. People are jumping to assumptions without knowing what it is going on behind the scenes . On top of that the police disclosed her location putting her security at risk. It has been one thing after another, then another fan died after being attacked, people being mugged after the concert. So I understand people being disappointed on Taylor but from the outside Taylor fans from outside Brazil are also dissapointed on how Rio became so chaotic and dangerous and how quickly people turned their backs on Taylor . Regarding the late notice, rumours are that Taylor wanted to postponed earlier but she was not allow too .I do not think Taylor will be back after this tour and you can not blame her . I do not know what is going to happen about Sao Paulo , if the same company organises the event she may decide to pull out.
