How strange of us to meet this way, with you choosing to be the moon and I choosing to be the sun. You are a shining light surrounded by darkness, you give hope to those who need it, you follow a pattern but your absence is constant and everything expected. You move the waves of the water and create the tides. You influence the writers of this world and reflect my light. You cling to the earth so that they might have light and help give their way in the night. But I am the sun, although I am burn those approach me I give you the light you need to help them see, yet I am repeating rejected by you for favor of the earth’s shadow, the world in which you live to circle. Although feed their plants in which they need to eat, breathe, and live, they favor you. I make them sick, but I’m like keep them from depressions doors. Yet they go to you to seek comfort when you’re light is my own reflecting off you in disguise. I love you more, and while you’ll always be yourself, you seek to use me while you’re world rejects me. The very world which circles me just as you circle it, I very would and one of many that I keep from flying off into space so that it doesn’t freeze and die as you follow. Oh moon who rejects me so while staying just out of reach but always near, why do you treat me so? I’m not perfect, but neither are you. We both try and fail to protect our world so full of life, you trapped in its gravity just as much as it’s trapped in mine. Must we always end longing and heartbreak? If only it were possible to move on with our lives with that beautiful world we both love being at stake for undeserved collateral damage, a world we both work to make and serve.
