For anyone who thinks that that's Mannimarco rising from the coffin, you are ALL WRONG. That is the Underking. This cutscene happens no matter which ending you get. Basically, the Mantella is the Underking's phylactery, and whoever gets it will use it, prompting the Underking to immediately seek it out. This is the equivalent of you being in a deep sleep, and someone, without warning, squeezes your balls to harness your power. Of course, you'd scream.
When the Warp in the West occurred, all the endings of Daggerfall happened simultaneously. This means that Mannimarco both did and did not obtain the Totem to Numidium. Thus, in Oblivion, we see Mannimarco as a God--he is the Necromancer's Moon that shines down. BUT, we also see Mannimarco as the mortal--he is the one we kill in the Mage's Guild questline. Both existed as a result of the Dragon Break.
Go, Mannimarco! :D Yep, now that his "mortal frame" has been defeated in TESIV, all that is left of the King of Worms is the Necromancer's Moon. I tended to believe that the Mannimarco faced in TESIV: Oblivion was either a pretender, or just a powerful mortal "avatar" serving the will of the King of Worms. If it really is the mortal Mannimarco as a result of time gone crazy during the "Warp in the West"?...I have this feeling that upon the mortal Mannimarco's death, he may as well have become part of the Necromancer's Moon instead of going to the Dreamsleeve/Aetherius.
After the Warp in the West, Mannimarco have been split into to incarnations. One is the successful necromancer who obtained apotheosis and become God of Worms, residing in Necromancer's Moon, or The Revenenant. In the times come, he replaces Arkay as the God of Death, allowing necromancers to create Black Soul Gems. Second is the Lich, the King of Worms who became a shadow of himself, seeking powers aimlessly and horrifically, finally putting down for good by the Hero of Kvatch.
@genericusername546 Great, I was hoping that you were able to, because I've heard you can after Morrowind (and I bought it GOTY off Steam for 10$ a while back) and I'm not sure about Arena, though. Thank you for the response, by the way. :)
@Pilaf1984 it revealed in "The warp in the west" that both endings to daggerfall happened, splitting time and screwing up memories in the process. I think the Mannimarco that makes black soul gems is from the time line wheres he reached godhood, and the Mannimarco you fight is from the timeline where he didn't
@Mercury205 The King of Worms was either just a powerful necromancer who took the name to sound powerful, or was the mortal form of the God of Worms. The Warp in the West was a time paradox that caused Mannimarco to both ascend to godhood and remain mortal. It's almost like two people:)
@10aciouspoop It was "The Warp in the West", and it was "A" dragon Break not "The"("dragon break" is essentially Tamrielic shorthand for "Time goes temporarily insane") , but yes, all of them happened at once. Also, time skipped ahead a day and the Illiac Bay was transformed from having dozens of kingdoms to just having 4, Sentinel, Wayrest, Daggerfall, and Orsinium, with no-one able to remember how, when or why the battles that led the establishment of the 4 started.
So there is only 2 living(/unliving) gods left in the Elder Scrolls. Counting the new Sheogorath (myself and all other players) and Mannimacro. However before anyone states that Mannimarco is dead after the mages guiled questline; I have a theory that he created a small relm withing the outer realms, and placed his soul Therine along with his bonemale withing a arm (that he would sever). Thus being able to stay there and be a god, well still living within a lich body.
I've just recently began playing Daggerfall, and I've got the hang of dungeons and quests, but I was just curious; since I've played Oblivion, bits of Morrowind, and Skyrim, does Daggerfall 'end' when you do a 'final' mission? (meaning can I continue to play it afterwards?)
Thus as Pilaf1984 stated: his pupit like Lich body is very expendable, and b/c of this the mages guild has not seen the last of him. However this is only a theory.
I just wonder, if there was a warp in time that created a time paradox, how can both the mortal Mannimarco and the God of Worms exist in the same time frame, in oblivion (the game)?
well actually its theorized that b/c of the dragon break there are actually TWO KOW now: the mortal KOW, who got pwned in oblivion, and the "God of Worms", who is responsible for the light shining in the alters. If you've ever played the mod "Origins of the Mages Guild" you'd understand that (Its a mod yes, but they keep it 99.9999% lorically accurate)
hold up isnt it becuase of all the endings happening at once due to The Warp of the West that the king of worms became a god and there was a new king of worms.

So phylacterias are basically liches's ballsack, interesting

such a spooky skeleton

That's why the purple light still shines on the alters after the King of Worms is killed in Oblivion-the God of Worms is still alive!

@TheVideoMenace1 The best answer for this problem is Mannimarco Revisited
@K12machinima You can continue playing it afterwards.

@whatewer23 in the oblivion IV all creatures are your level +-2 so you can really defeat anyone there

so basically mannimarco flesh form is on nirn but his divine essence still remains in the heavens
Just like how every ending came true, many also didn't come true.

@Pilaf1984 no,its really him,i read that akatosh took awayhis godlypowers before the game

The King of Worms is the founder and head of necromancy.
@Mercury205 Thankfully there was a mob that does justice to his appearance, check it out
@Pilaf1984 yeah, that must be it, no way we killed the true king of the worms with only lvl 20 hero.
They use the same CG for the Underking and the King of Worms. Cost-cutting tactic?

The skeleton may be Lyssandus??
Now how did he degrade from O_O THAT
Into a high elf in fancy Necromancer robes?
On Nirn, not earth.
Unless you are referring to the ground. In that case, I done goofed :P
Who is the skeleton who rises from the coffin ?
Hmm.. If the King of Worms went into the ranks of the Daedra princes... I'd like to see his realm of Oblivion
No. His realm is not in Oblivion and he did not become a Daedric Prince, but a god of his sphere of influence
gods of oblivion?
Yeah, like his Avatar or Champion.
@Pilaf1984 yes thats what i have been telling people i see sum 1 that thinks like me
So do they share the same mind, or are each almost completely separate?
This.
it is same king of worm as in oblivion?
Yes.
do you seriously read all the books in tes???
World's longest game and shortest, most generic ending.
Mannimarco in TES4 sucked they shouldnt have made him if they insist on more king o worms atleast make it THE king of worms
