Jesus, that smile at the end felt like the end of the world. Ryan is VERY powerful. Considering that butcher and homelander’s lasers seem to be about equally matched and butcher lasered soldier boys face with little effect it goes to show how powerful Ryan is with how he was able to hit soldier boy so hard. Plus, he’s still only a small child. It seems like they’re taking the “nephelim” approach in that the homelander’s son will be way more powerful than homelander himself

I could see the end of Homelander ending in two ways. Considering they've changed so much from the comics including Soldier Boy and Homelander's relationship, either he'll die raging like a beast and cursing out Butcher, or die with his last words being "Raise my son well, don't let him end up like me." I mean when he, Ben, and Ryan were there together he was being the most human he could have ever been. I felt really bad for Homelander there maybe they will smoothen him out in the finale.
At this point, If I were to write my own plot of how will this go. Ryan will probably grow up to be an even bigger a-hole than his father, eventually out of control, and then I think that Homelander will be, again, betrayed and died by the one he loved, it's just so fitting to be the end of him and probably the only way he can die since Soldier Boy is out of the picture. And there you have it, the real final boss of this series.
For real. He was such a breath of fresh air and had motivation and nothing stands between him and his goal. At the same time he didn't betrayed the boys, and didn't tried to harm or kill anybody of them until they betrayed him. I knew that we would still have 4th season that's why everybody still alive, but I was so frustrated with this season! Basically they didn't complete their mission, fucked up their health, got Soldier Boy against them and got Ryan completely crazy..And that head popper is a Vice-president.. Like what they have accomplished this season, just a load of crap.

Homelander lasers a guy again in front of a crowd but this time it isn’t in his head. Ironically people cheer for him even though he murdered a man right in front of them. This ties back to homelander saying I show people the real me and they love me for it. He was afraid of how people would react to his real self and yet they still cheer. Todd cheers for homelander and other join in as if they needed validation. Homelander also craves validation. Homelander killed the “enemy” so that muder was ok. In his interviews homelander pedals the notion of the infamous them. Who is the “them” or “they”? Anyone who is not with “us”. They can be whoever we need them to be. The homelander fans might cheer but the rest of the world may not making the us vs them narrative grow.

I can't believe this show finally managed to make me actually feel sorry for A-Train and kinda looking forward for his continued redemption arc. AND that in the same episode Ashley for ONCE in her life does something good and makes sure Maeve gets to actually get out.
Maeve realized something that I feel like nobody else ever really considers, besides Butcher maybe. And that is that while Homelander is very VERY gifted even among supes. He isn't actually invincible, he never trains, he never hones his abilities, he's sloppy because he's never been tested. All you need is someone "nearly" as strong as him, a Maeve or a Butcher or a Soldier Boy and then you can probably start to close that gap with skill and experience, or numbers. I feel like if Maeve had overcome that psychological barrier of being intimidated by him much sooner and had been training hard the last couple years, she probably could have had a clear Strength advantage over Homelander by this point and might have managed to physically subdue him properly.
Definitely not a strength advantage. Even here, homelander was holding back greatly. He wasn't taking her seriously until he bled and even then he wasn't going all out.

Honestly wasn't expecting anything like this. Noir dying, and so pathetically. Ryan is (at least momentarily) on Homelander's side. Maeve "dying". Starlight gaining flight like in the comics. But one cool thing that happens was Victoria officially becoming her comic-countetpart "Vic the Veep". Makes me wonder if they are gonna kill Dakota Bob and try to make another 9/11 type scenario. Season 4 is definitely going to be something interesting and NEW with so many things having changed from the original.
Yes, but at this point, I really hope season 4 will be the last. Not because the series is bad, because it’s awsome, but because one can really only keep a great series going so long before it loses the factor that makes it great
I think it was kinda poetic that Homelander killed Black Noir in the show since the exact opposite happened in the comics. It's a shame that Black Noir didn't have much plot since they went to a different path but the show did what needed to happen

*When the dad and step-dad team up to beat up the abusive grandpa* Is the joke I made to my gf. But MAN. It's so hard to decide what the right decision was here. SB and Homelander are both completely self-absorbed jackasses without any conscience and no concern for collateral, but it could be argued that SB had no ambition and was ultimately the lesser threat, both because he was a bit weaker overall and because he wasn't hell-bent on seeming national domination. That said, it's hard to say how you'd ever manage to overcome his 'trump card'; that radiation blast is insane, like a small nuke, and it seemingly does very little to SB himself.. Any supe you send up against him is flirting with death, or at least losing their powers. Starlight, Kimiko, Maeve, and MAYBE throw in A-Train or something for good measure, could possibly take him down with only losing a couple of them. But even though Maeve was seemingly able to fight HL fairly effectively-possibly because HL never had to actually train and just brute forces his way through his enemies, and Maeve has been training obsessively for a year-I doubt a similar team could hope to put HL down, especially since he can always just escape by flying away and coming back to fight another day. It REALLY feels like they missed their one shot at HL, unless Mallory starts trying to find a way to pull that radiation out of SB and weaponize it.
Ok this ending pissed me off. Butcher in one fell swoop undid everything that him and the boys have been working towards for the last 3 seasons. If maeve was able to survive soldier boy exploding when she was literally hugging him then there's no reason why ryan couldn't survive so basically soldier boy got betrayed by the boys twice for no reason 😡

Ryan is like his father Growing up isolated but Ryan at least had his mother a moral compass the only person who loved him then his world got flipped upside down when he found out his father was a famous superhero very strong. Then after the death of his mother he is isolated again with no friends no family to really look after him no real family in anyway and all he had was a link of butcher them and butcher cut that tie by saying what he said to him about Rebecca that line was forever severed. Then home later arrives and says no matter what I will always love you giving him the validation he needs having someone in this world who loves him no matter what in return Ryan will return that love but this makes everything more dangerous because to keep that love Ryan seems like he’ll do anything to make his father proud. This narrative is shown through our homeland is family Soulja Boy being a disappointment to his father then homeland or being a disappointment to Soldier Boy and then in their initial meeting Ryan being a disappointment to Homelander. Ryan smiles because these people are cheering his father in a way they are cheering him
Butcher in the comics put together an amazing plan to get rid of all the Supes all at once at one point. I feel right now since they have a ticking clock of about a year to 18 months this is where his master plan will come in to play

We didn't see Maeve neutralized easily by anyone ... we never actually saw her fight them ... and it was her vs. Black Noir AND Homelander in that encounter we didn't see. And even then we see that she wasn't really badly physically damaged later. Which suggests they "fought" to restrain her more so than they fought to hurt her. Afterall Homelander had plans for her as he stated later.

Man what a season, saw a lot of disappointed people online. But In my opinion, it was a great finale. Wanted a bit more from Noir in terms of confronting Soldier Boy one last time, Get a few licks in. It is what it is, Left a lot of doors open with what can happen in the future seasons. G men will most likely still be introduced. Tek night story line, that little buzzing fly sound man/women whatever that is. Fkn Cindy, who escaped that facility. Similar powers to Neuman, Can’t wait for what’s to come 🤌🏻
I loved the finale. My only disappoitment was Maeve surviving. I love her and that would be a great ending to the character! Furthermore, based on the scene where Soldier Boy hurt Kimiko, the effect of turning off their powers is kind of instantaneous. So I assume that Maeve was hit by a nuke that turned off her powers and, even if the effect took a few seconds for her to avoid the explosion, she still fell of a HUGE building. So yeah… Maeve still being alive was My greatest disappointment this season

I had to pause for a second when Maeve threw out the perfume flask of Nowitschok. A bottle of what was probably 100ml of the most potent nerve agent with a median lethal dose of 0.2mg shattered somewhere on the open streets of downtown New York.
I don't think Black Noir is actually dead. Remember Soldier boy literally bashed his brains out and he lived. A little gut punch from homelander seems minor in comparison
There’s a definite theme of this season of Sons DESPERATELY trying to escape the faults of their fathers, and instead running face first into the same shit their dads did to them.
Loved this finale. I don’t get how people don’t understand why ryan did what he did. It made sense Ryan chose his father. Butcher pushed him away earlier during the season when he promised he would be there. But besides that loved Maeve in this episode and Jensen Ackles killed it as Soldier Boy. Especially during the fight. Sucks Noir died but Hopefully he returns next season and he’s stronger. Hope they kill Homelander soon as well.

The sad part for me is that Annies power-up is such a let down...so much build up on the power to only like fart on SB, he falls on his butt and thats it. Even Butchers laser threw away Homelander and cut SB cheek and he is just human on a temp V power. Also this episode was kinda a let down for me, kinda expected Butcher and Hughie have their final fight and have perma V as it would make things more complicated yet interesting. At least Maeve had what she wanted, lost her power and now can live her life with her loved one, at least till Elena wont be killed/murdered by HL cultist, Maeve can always return just by taking compound V like Kimiko. Ryan turns into another idiot or c**t but that is Butchers fault for saying all those things to him in earlier episodes. HL now can kill others and people cheer at least the HL cultists other people might riot.
I think Noir is still somewhat alive? Probably be in a coma or something. In his cartoon flashback, after what soldier boy did to him, he still alive. 50% chances that he’ll be alive next season.
Although the previous episode suddenly made him much more interesting, I think a show gets ruined when every big character is just brought back to life again. Occasionally they should stay dead.

I feel the same way about starlight powers, always seemed a bit underwhelming. I did notice it's just like a shockwave (or shotgun) of light so it's more concussive force over a wide area than anything. What I'm thinking is, since she's now with the boys, maybe Frenchie can design some gloves for her that focuses the light she emits (similar to cyclops) so that she can potentially do more damage.
I love the Boys but the finale was a disappointment for me. I won't be surprise if Black Noir somehow comes back in the next season but I really wanted to see Black Noir vs Soldier Boy or even Homelander vs Soldier Boy. I get it they wanted to give Meave some shine but they wasted Noir in the process.
I highly doubt that would kill black noir he got hit in the face with a blast and had pieces of his brain missing I don't know what organ he lost but it's a 50/50 he lives or dies.

I feel like with Butcher’s timer on his life, the ending of the entire show will end with homelander dying, butcher running out on his timer and maybe even potentially having the option to become a permanent super to stay alive but turning it down to be at peace with his wife in the afterlife
My theory on noir is he’s like deadpool, so no matter what happens to him, he’ll always heal, like when soldier boy smashed his head in, or like when deadpool tried killing himself all those times in deadpool 2. It’d make sense for him plus it’d mean he’s not dead which is really what I want, since he’s easily my fav character along with soldier boy and deep.
Except he didn't actually heal from Soldier Boy's assault in '84. That's why he's mute, has the brain of a child, and had a terribly fucked up face. Do you fuckers not pay attention?
We saw his burns in season 2. Nope he couldn't heal. And if he had been able to heal, he would have talked in whole series. Noir is dead. It will be dumb if they try to bring him (Earving) back. If Noir has a comeback in season 4, it will be a new one (probably HL's clone)

Can’t really say I liked this episode, soldier boy didn’t do anything wrong, he didn’t like what Homelander had become and when Ryan got in his way and tried to fight he did the right thing and tried to kill them both, now Ryan is going to be bad like we see at the end. They all betrayed soldier boy and the way Noir went out wasn’t right.

Just finished the episode -- fucking brilliant. With betrayals and highlights and irony that remind me of the earlier Game of Thrones seasons. Ironic that Soldier Boy -- "the disappointment" that didn't storm Normandy on Do or Die Day -- didn't go back on his word. Loved it. Homelander's son is going to raise hell in upcoming seasons. There's something different about Homelander and Ryan's laser...it's apparently WAY more powerful than butcher's Heat Vision. Let me say why :- In the scene, where SB was trying to NUKE WAVE Homelander and Ryan together after knocking down Ryan, butcher stopped SB with Heat Vision, but SB didn't move an INCH, he just stood there and blocked it, until Homelander Lasered and he was sent flying. Now, think about how Ryan's Laser also sent SB flying, but when butcher directly Heat Visioned SB's face it didn't do any damage. Personal Note - Ryan's Laser is pretty much as strong as Homelander's even though he's a child. He's gonna be a MENACE once he grows up, especially if he grows up on the path hinted at the end of Season 3.
It's already stronger. He cut straight through Stormfront, whilst Homelander couldn't even pierce her skin. Technically, Ryan ALREADY has the power to kill homelander, just not the desire or training. I think this is why the final scene is so important as you mention. S2 saw ryan losing control of his power and and resenting it, whereas S3 saw Homelander losing control of his power and ryan ENJOYING it.
I think now that they hve captured SB, they r gonna experiment on him suck up his nuclear Blast make it some kind of weapon a fcking kryptonite sort of thing, kill HL nd than Ryan.. It's possible

The V will work on Butcher because he has conditioned his body for it with the V24. His body (while unable to handle the V24 overall) did adjust a bit, because he only threw up the first time. After that he was fine... until his brain started leaking.
Since Queen Mauve was depowered as she was midair falling, how did she survive hitting the ground? Black Noir may regenerate, he survived other crazy things Homelander to Ryan: Join me, and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son
Saying it loud, Noir is likely still alive, people assume he's dead, but forget he got his damn skull split open in the 80's in nicuragua, and lived, 2020 with the advances in tech in NYC? a little disembowling won't keep him out for long. And how people kinda forgot Maeve threw a glass vial, OF NOVICHOK, ONE OF THE MOST DEADLY NERVE AGENT MADE, into the middle of a crowded section of NYC at night. She probably just killed the same amount of people who died on the airplane, if not more with that one toss of a perfume bottle.
Last week after they dropped Ep 7, in the still shots they accidentally included a couple of photos which take place in a hospital with Hughie and Butcher in gowns, and they both looked pensive. Amazon did pull those photos shortly afterwards and the aren't amongst the Ep 8 still shots, so that looks like a deleted scene. However, based on Vought Lab's notes, damage already occurs after the first dose of Temp V. And we still see Hughie dealing with the residue coming out of his ear, so clearly there has been damage, so I"m expecting this to follow him into Season 4 I'm surprised they didn't reveal what happened to Zoe after her mom dosed her with the Original formula V, so this is still something that needs addressing. But based on how Victoria isn't grieving, I'm assuming Zoe survived Speaking of Victoria, she's the gender swapped character of Victor, or Vic The Veep from the comics. Their characters diverges quite vastly from the source material, but it looks like she'll be inheriting his nickname. Season 4 is slated to start shooting in August through to the end of the year. I think Season 3 completed shooting last fall, so that might give us a relative time frame as to when the next season hits the air
There’s so much to discuss here…soldier boy was true to his word 100% and was gonna kill HomeLander and then of course the Ryan incident happened, what should’ve happened is when Maeve should’ve grabbed Ryan and then leave and then butcher and soldier boy hold homelander down while he powers up his nuclear blast. Since that didn’t happen, when butcher and soldier boy squared off, butcher says “not the kid” and “stand down” soldier boy could’ve said “okay let’s just get homelander” The thing is HomeLander does care about Ryan and wants a family since he never had that. He wanted soldier boy in the picture as well…but then of course what happened happened. Soldier Boy was true to his word 100% man what a crazy ride. Also…Black Noir will be missed.

Janine live pretty normal life compare to Ryan. MM act nice to her. While Butcher as pos to Ryan at that moment. Ryan wanted Butcher to talk there, want to know what is wrong and when they will meet again. But Butcher emotionally hit Ryan where it hurt most. So Butcher get his chance to explain but He ruined it.
What I enjoyed about this season so much was the thematic approach in having the season start of with a Movie premier about the Rise of the 7 that even saw the tower destroyed, and by the end of the season it's all about the fall of the 7, only 3 members are there, Homelander, A Train, and The Deep while the Tower is also damaged by Soldier Boys blast like in the movie. While we have at the same 6 members of the Boys now by the end with Annie joining up, so as the 7 fall, The Boys rise up and perhaps next season they will get a 7th member from someplace.
I asked myself the same question, but I guess it's okay if she doesn't appear next season CZ her Arc it's over, however if she did appears I'm gonna be pissed because she was supposed to die in that fall.
I like that Starlight doesn’t “go super Saiyan”. It would be a lesser show if that happened. The point was that more superpowers weren’t the answer it was more about good people coming together to fight fascists.
Maive is the s3 mvp along with solder boy maive has the most character growth and she ends up being a real hero by the end sacrifing herself she’s one of my favorite characters and solder boy is a terrible person but he’s funny charismatic and powerful made the story interesting knowing someone can go toe to toe with homelander
Black Noir...(they literally named this guy black black lol) will return... despite "seeing him die" we never ACTUALLY saw him die coz he's got that helmet on. The animals fading from view could just be him losing consciousness. I mean he survived Soilder boys shield to the head, the explosions at Butchers Aunts house, and the almond joy attack by Maeve, so I think, he will survive. A-train was looking at Noir's helmet in deep thought. I think as soon as Homelander left, he ran and scooped up Noir and took him somewhere to recover. Maybe to Edgar.
That empower seen is actually fantastic storytelling looking back at the series as a whole with Hughie finally realising he doesn’t need powers and that he can be of use empowering Starlight but they made the blast do nothing 😂
There is Cindy too. Roaming around there. She escaped the lab Stormfront used to run and we never knew about her anymore. Possibly the next enemy or ally. Depending if they want to make Victoria climb even higher during next season or just present her as the main villain. Having in mind they both are pretty good at exploding...people (Even cindy looks more like the imploding kind). And she was shown in one of these last "previously" intros. Making sure she´s not forgotten.
The finale was great, the only thing that didn’t sit right with me is the way Noir died. I feel like we spent episodes 6 and 7 building up his backstory for him to die so quickly and effortlessly. But other then that it was great!
Noir's death was similar to the way he killed Kimiko in season 1! Disembowlment! Which makes me think he will return as Kimiko did. And no, Homelander did not rip his heart out!
In the comics Vic Neuman (who here is “Victoria”) becomes Vice President, which is why Homelander had Deep kill the current VP, so that Victoria could be his replacement.

Jesus, that smile at the end felt like the end of the world. Ryan is VERY powerful. Considering that butcher and homelander’s lasers seem to be about equally matched and butcher lasered soldier boys face with little effect it goes to show how powerful Ryan is with how he was able to hit soldier boy so hard. Plus, he’s still only a small child. It seems like they’re taking the “nephelim” approach in that the homelander’s son will be way more powerful than homelander himself

I could see the end of Homelander ending in two ways. Considering they've changed so much from the comics including Soldier Boy and Homelander's relationship, either he'll die raging like a beast and cursing out Butcher, or die with his last words being "Raise my son well, don't let him end up like me." I mean when he, Ben, and Ryan were there together he was being the most human he could have ever been. I felt really bad for Homelander there maybe they will smoothen him out in the finale.
At this point, If I were to write my own plot of how will this go. Ryan will probably grow up to be an even bigger a-hole than his father, eventually out of control, and then I think that Homelander will be, again, betrayed and died by the one he loved, it's just so fitting to be the end of him and probably the only way he can die since Soldier Boy is out of the picture.
And there you have it, the real final boss of this series.
I can even see ryan killing Homelander as an 'accident', with homelander forgiving him. Then butcher will kill ryan, and go full butcher

For real. He was such a breath of fresh air and had motivation and nothing stands between him and his goal. At the same time he didn't betrayed the boys, and didn't tried to harm or kill anybody of them until they betrayed him. I knew that we would still have 4th season that's why everybody still alive, but I was so frustrated with this season!
Basically they didn't complete their mission, fucked up their health, got Soldier Boy against them and got Ryan completely crazy..And that head popper is a Vice-president.. Like what they have accomplished this season, just a load of crap.

Homelander lasers a guy again in front of a crowd but this time it isn’t in his head. Ironically people cheer for him even though he murdered a man right in front of them. This ties back to homelander saying I show people the real me and they love me for it. He was afraid of how people would react to his real self and yet they still cheer. Todd cheers for homelander and other join in as if they needed validation. Homelander also craves validation. Homelander killed the “enemy” so that muder was ok. In his interviews homelander pedals the notion of the infamous them. Who is the “them” or “they”? Anyone who is not with “us”. They can be whoever we need them to be. The homelander fans might cheer but the rest of the world may not making the us vs them narrative grow.

I loved how homelander gets surprised when people started to cheer. What a crazy reality check!
He learned he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose a single vote.
Maeve realized something that I feel like nobody else ever really considers, besides Butcher maybe. And that is that while Homelander is very VERY gifted even among supes. He isn't actually invincible, he never trains, he never hones his abilities, he's sloppy because he's never been tested. All you need is someone "nearly" as strong as him, a Maeve or a Butcher or a Soldier Boy and then you can probably start to close that gap with skill and experience, or numbers.
I feel like if Maeve had overcome that psychological barrier of being intimidated by him much sooner and had been training hard the last couple years, she probably could have had a clear Strength advantage over Homelander by this point and might have managed to physically subdue him properly.
Definitely not a strength advantage. Even here, homelander was holding back greatly. He wasn't taking her seriously until he bled and even then he wasn't going all out.

But MAN. It's so hard to decide what the right decision was here.
SB and Homelander are both completely self-absorbed jackasses without any conscience and no concern for collateral, but it could be argued that SB had no ambition and was ultimately the lesser threat, both because he was a bit weaker overall and because he wasn't hell-bent on seeming national domination. That said, it's hard to say how you'd ever manage to overcome his 'trump card'; that radiation blast is insane, like a small nuke, and it seemingly does very little to SB himself.. Any supe you send up against him is flirting with death, or at least losing their powers. Starlight, Kimiko, Maeve, and MAYBE throw in A-Train or something for good measure, could possibly take him down with only losing a couple of them.
But even though Maeve was seemingly able to fight HL fairly effectively-possibly because HL never had to actually train and just brute forces his way through his enemies, and Maeve has been training obsessively for a year-I doubt a similar team could hope to put HL down, especially since he can always just escape by flying away and coming back to fight another day. It REALLY feels like they missed their one shot at HL, unless Mallory starts trying to find a way to pull that radiation out of SB and weaponize it.

Ryan is like his father Growing up isolated but Ryan at least had his mother a moral compass the only person who loved him then his world got flipped upside down when he found out his father was a famous superhero very strong. Then after the death of his mother he is isolated again with no friends no family to really look after him no real family in anyway and all he had was a link of butcher them and butcher cut that tie by saying what he said to him about Rebecca that line was forever severed. Then home later arrives and says no matter what I will always love you giving him the validation he needs having someone in this world who loves him no matter what in return Ryan will return that love but this makes everything more dangerous because to keep that love Ryan seems like he’ll do anything to make his father proud. This narrative is shown through our homeland is family Soulja Boy being a disappointment to his father then homeland or being a disappointment to Soldier Boy and then in their initial meeting Ryan being a disappointment to Homelander. Ryan smiles because these people are cheering his father in a way they are cheering him

What's the point of Maeve being neutralized by Noir so easily, and giving Homelander work, the same one who killed Noir with a single blow.
We didn't see Maeve neutralized easily by anyone ... we never actually saw her fight them ... and it was her vs. Black Noir AND Homelander in that encounter we didn't see. And even then we see that she wasn't really badly physically damaged later. Which suggests they "fought" to restrain her more so than they fought to hurt her. Afterall Homelander had plans for her as he stated later.

Man what a season, saw a lot of disappointed people online. But In my opinion, it was a great finale. Wanted a bit more from Noir in terms of confronting Soldier Boy one last time, Get a few licks in. It is what it is, Left a lot of doors open with what can happen in the future seasons. G men will most likely still be introduced. Tek night story line, that little buzzing fly sound man/women whatever that is. Fkn Cindy, who escaped that facility. Similar powers to Neuman, Can’t wait for what’s to come 🤌🏻

I loved the finale. My only disappoitment was Maeve surviving. I love her and that would be a great ending to the character! Furthermore, based on the scene where Soldier Boy hurt Kimiko, the effect of turning off their powers is kind of instantaneous. So I assume that Maeve was hit by a nuke that turned off her powers and, even if the effect took a few seconds for her to avoid the explosion, she still fell of a HUGE building. So yeah… Maeve still being alive was My greatest disappointment this season

Loved this finale. I don’t get how people don’t understand why ryan did what he did. It made sense Ryan chose his father. Butcher pushed him away earlier during the season when he promised he would be there. But besides that loved Maeve in this episode and Jensen Ackles killed it as Soldier Boy. Especially during the fight. Sucks Noir died but Hopefully he returns next season and he’s stronger. Hope they kill Homelander soon as well.

The sad part for me is that Annies power-up is such a let down...so much build up on the power to only like fart on SB, he falls on his butt and thats it. Even Butchers laser threw away Homelander and cut SB cheek and he is just human on a temp V power. Also this episode was kinda a let down for me, kinda expected Butcher and Hughie have their final fight and have perma V as it would make things more complicated yet interesting. At least Maeve had what she wanted, lost her power and now can live her life with her loved one, at least till Elena wont be killed/murdered by HL cultist, Maeve can always return just by taking compound V like Kimiko. Ryan turns into another idiot or c**t but that is Butchers fault for saying all those things to him in earlier episodes. HL now can kill others and people cheer at least the HL cultists other people might riot.
I think Noir is still somewhat alive? Probably be in a coma or something. In his cartoon flashback, after what soldier boy did to him, he still alive. 50% chances that he’ll be alive next season.
He will definitely be back, Stan Edgar would not let him die that easily, probably pump some more powerful compound V in him while he's at it.

I feel the same way about starlight powers, always seemed a bit underwhelming. I did notice it's just like a shockwave (or shotgun) of light so it's more concussive force over a wide area than anything.
What I'm thinking is, since she's now with the boys, maybe Frenchie can design some gloves for her that focuses the light she emits (similar to cyclops) so that she can potentially do more damage.
Starlight can also blind people with that flash of light. It could come in handy with Neumann.

I won't be surprise if Black Noir somehow comes back in the next season but I really wanted to see Black Noir vs Soldier Boy or even Homelander vs Soldier Boy. I get it they wanted to give Meave some shine but they wasted Noir in the process.
I highly doubt that would kill black noir he got hit in the face with a blast and had pieces of his brain missing I don't know what organ he lost but it's a 50/50 he lives or dies.

I feel like with Butcher’s timer on his life, the ending of the entire show will end with homelander dying, butcher running out on his timer and maybe even potentially having the option to become a permanent super to stay alive but turning it down to be at peace with his wife in the afterlife

My theory on noir is he’s like deadpool, so no matter what happens to him, he’ll always heal, like when soldier boy smashed his head in, or like when deadpool tried killing himself all those times in deadpool 2. It’d make sense for him plus it’d mean he’s not dead which is really what I want, since he’s easily my fav character along with soldier boy and deep.
He also survived getting burnt twice.
Except he didn't actually heal from Soldier Boy's assault in '84. That's why he's mute, has the brain of a child, and had a terribly fucked up face. Do you fuckers not pay attention?
We saw his burns in season 2. Nope he couldn't heal. And if he had been able to heal, he would have talked in whole series. Noir is dead. It will be dumb if they try to bring him (Earving) back. If Noir has a comeback in season 4, it will be a new one (probably HL's clone)

Can’t really say I liked this episode, soldier boy didn’t do anything wrong, he didn’t like what Homelander had become and when Ryan got in his way and tried to fight he did the right thing and tried to kill them both, now Ryan is going to be bad like we see at the end. They all betrayed soldier boy and the way Noir went out wasn’t right.

Just finished the episode -- fucking brilliant. With betrayals and highlights and irony that remind me of the earlier Game of Thrones seasons. Ironic that Soldier Boy -- "the disappointment" that didn't storm Normandy on Do or Die Day -- didn't go back on his word. Loved it. Homelander's son is going to raise hell in upcoming seasons. Can't wait.
I could see the end of Homelander ending in two ways. Considering they've changed so much from the comics including Soldier Boy and Homelander's relationship, either he'll die raging like a beast and cursing out Butcher, or die with his last words being "Raise my son well, don't let him end up like me."
There's something different about Homelander and Ryan's laser...it's apparently WAY more powerful than butcher's Heat Vision.
Let me say why :-
In the scene, where SB was trying to NUKE WAVE Homelander and Ryan together after knocking down Ryan, butcher stopped SB with Heat Vision, but SB didn't move an INCH, he just stood there and blocked it, until Homelander Lasered and he was sent flying.
Now, think about how Ryan's Laser also sent SB flying, but when butcher directly Heat Visioned SB's face it didn't do any damage.
Personal Note - Ryan's Laser is pretty much as strong as Homelander's even though he's a child. He's gonna be a MENACE once he grows up, especially if he grows up on the path hinted at the end of Season 3.
It's already stronger. He cut straight through Stormfront, whilst Homelander couldn't even pierce her skin. Technically, Ryan ALREADY has the power to kill homelander, just not the desire or training.
I think this is why the final scene is so important as you mention. S2 saw ryan losing control of his power and and resenting it, whereas S3 saw Homelander losing control of his power and ryan ENJOYING it.
I think now that they hve captured SB, they r gonna experiment on him suck up his nuclear Blast make it some kind of weapon a fcking kryptonite sort of thing, kill HL nd than Ryan.. It's possible

Then butcher kicks the shit out of the now terrified HL, but doesn't kill him to further punish him, sending ryan into a rampage who finally completes the foreshadowing laser-slaughter arch by lasering a huge crowd for real.

The V will work on Butcher because he has conditioned his body for it with the V24.
His body (while unable to handle the V24 overall) did adjust a bit, because he only threw up the first time. After that he was fine... until his brain started leaking.

Saying it loud, Noir is likely still alive, people assume he's dead, but forget he got his damn skull split open in the 80's in nicuragua, and lived, 2020 with the advances in tech in NYC? a little disembowling won't keep him out for long.
And how people kinda forgot Maeve threw a glass vial, OF NOVICHOK, ONE OF THE MOST DEADLY NERVE AGENT MADE, into the middle of a crowded section of NYC at night. She probably just killed the same amount of people who died on the airplane, if not more with that one toss of a perfume bottle.
Last week after they dropped Ep 7, in the still shots they accidentally included a couple of photos which take place in a hospital with Hughie and Butcher in gowns, and they both looked pensive. Amazon did pull those photos shortly afterwards and the aren't amongst the Ep 8 still shots, so that looks like a deleted scene.
However, based on Vought Lab's notes, damage already occurs after the first dose of Temp V. And we still see Hughie dealing with the residue coming out of his ear, so clearly there has been damage, so I"m expecting this to follow him into Season 4
I'm surprised they didn't reveal what happened to Zoe after her mom dosed her with the Original formula V, so this is still something that needs addressing. But based on how Victoria isn't grieving, I'm assuming Zoe survived
Speaking of Victoria, she's the gender swapped character of Victor, or Vic The Veep from the comics. Their characters diverges quite vastly from the source material, but it looks like she'll be inheriting his nickname.
Season 4 is slated to start shooting in August through to the end of the year. I think Season 3 completed shooting last fall, so that might give us a relative time frame as to when the next season hits the air
Think we will hear from Zoe in season 4 as a contrast to Ryan's storyline.
That would make sense as they like to do parallel arcs between characters from each camp
There’s so much to discuss here…soldier boy was true to his word 100% and was gonna kill HomeLander and then of course the Ryan incident happened, what should’ve happened is when Maeve should’ve grabbed Ryan and then leave and then butcher and soldier boy hold homelander down while he powers up his nuclear blast. Since that didn’t happen, when butcher and soldier boy squared off, butcher says “not the kid” and “stand down” soldier boy could’ve said “okay let’s just get homelander”
The thing is HomeLander does care about Ryan and wants a family since he never had that. He wanted soldier boy in the picture as well…but then of course what happened happened. Soldier Boy was true to his word 100% man what a crazy ride. Also…Black Noir will be missed.

Ryan acted the opposite of what Janine did, since both had to be lied to by their fathers for their own good, but only Janine understood, butcher never got the chance to explain. Plus man's got months to live. Very unfair towards noir
Janine live pretty normal life compare to Ryan. MM act nice to her. While Butcher as pos to Ryan at that moment. Ryan wanted Butcher to talk there, want to know what is wrong and when they will meet again. But Butcher emotionally hit Ryan where it hurt most. So Butcher get his chance to explain but He ruined it.
By the way, I hope season 4 introduces Tek Knight
What I enjoyed about this season so much was the thematic approach in having the season start of with a Movie premier about the Rise of the 7 that even saw the tower destroyed, and by the end of the season it's all about the fall of the 7, only 3 members are there, Homelander, A Train, and The Deep while the Tower is also damaged by Soldier Boys blast like in the movie. While we have at the same 6 members of the Boys now by the end with Annie joining up, so as the 7 fall, The Boys rise up and perhaps next season they will get a 7th member from someplace.
That ending with Ryan smiling is pretty much a sign of us getting a future Brightburn sheesh😥

I like that Starlight doesn’t “go super Saiyan”. It would be a lesser show if that happened. The point was that more superpowers weren’t the answer it was more about good people coming together to fight fascists.
Original V was given to Soldier Boy when he was an adult so it does work on them.
Maive is the s3 mvp along with solder boy maive has the most character growth and she ends up being a real hero by the end sacrifing herself she’s one of my favorite characters and solder boy is a terrible person but he’s funny charismatic and powerful made the story interesting knowing someone can go toe to toe with homelander
Black Noir...(they literally named this guy black black lol) will return... despite "seeing him die" we never ACTUALLY saw him die coz he's got that helmet on. The animals fading from view could just be him losing consciousness. I mean he survived Soilder boys shield to the head, the explosions at Butchers Aunts house, and the almond joy attack by Maeve, so I think, he will survive.
A-train was looking at Noir's helmet in deep thought. I think as soon as Homelander left, he ran and scooped up Noir and took him somewhere to recover. Maybe to Edgar.

That empower seen is actually fantastic storytelling looking back at the series as a whole with Hughie finally realising he doesn’t need powers and that he can be of use empowering Starlight but they made the blast do nothing 😂

There is Cindy too. Roaming around there. She escaped the lab Stormfront used to run and we never knew about her anymore. Possibly the next enemy or ally. Depending if they want to make Victoria climb even higher during next season or just present her as the main villain. Having in mind they both are pretty good at exploding...people (Even cindy looks more like the imploding kind). And she was shown in one of these last "previously" intros. Making sure she´s not forgotten.

The finale was great, the only thing that didn’t sit right with me is the way Noir died. I feel like we spent episodes 6 and 7 building up his backstory for him to die so quickly and effortlessly. But other then that it was great!
Noir's death was similar to the way he killed Kimiko in season 1! Disembowlment! Which makes me think he will return as Kimiko did. And no, Homelander did not rip his heart out!
