Hi Penn! Very interesting video, thank you for doing this. I’m 52 years old and got Bell’s Palsy about 6 years ago that left me with left eye ptosis. I have been super self conscious of my appearance ever since, always wear sunglasses when I can in pictures, and to be honest, avoid pictures now because I hate the way my eye droops. I look so much older. I am going to ask around my area for samples. If I can’t find any, I may just take the plunge and purchase some. I will definitely let you know my results. Thank you again for a very objective, informative video. Love your channel!

I spoke with my eye doc about this and didn't go there for one reason only - you must keep doing the drops or you lose the effect. The question is do you want to do this for the rest of your life? I would also like to see some studies on long-term effects.

Upneeq is A-MA-ZING! The results are spectacular. My own dermatologist uses it and she recommended to me. I first heard about Upneeq from Vogue and Elle, and then my dermatologist gave me a sample. I use it for special occasions and absolutely love it. My eyes feel so awake and alert. Highly recommend.

While I do really like the effects of something like Lumify I don’t actually like the effect these have. It is super subtle but on eyes that don’t have the issue it corrects I think it gives a kind of surprised look but not one that’s more youthful. The brightening aspect is more youthful but I don’t think the widening is unless there is real drooping.
I’m personally more interested in lifting the skin above my eyes oh how I wish a drop could do that 😅

Jeanne Moran - completely agree with you. I saw the same, a wider-eyed look, but def. (IMO) not in an attractive way. Most looked eerily spooked in the after photos.. oddly, to me, it seemed the left eye on virtually all these ladies was larger than the right eye. Idk...certainly odd, but maybe it was the camera angle?

I am 62, have ptosis, and have used Upneek. In my case it is worth the cost for special occasion use, especially for photos. That said, I have also had a great deal of success on my upper lid sagging using micro current for the past year. I have had friends ask if I have had my eyes done. I think you are on target about getting a sample and see if it works for you.

I actually have Upneeq drops and it was quite a challenge as well as expensive to get them. I have very slight ptosis in one eyelid and was hoping this would help. I’ve been very underwhelmed by these drops. I don’t notice a difference at all, even with whitening. I prefer Lumify and it’s much cheaper and OTC. I ended up using Upneeq, then Lumify after because Lumify gives a much whiter and brighter effect to the eye. I did notice a slight difference in the before and after photos but having first hand experience, I wouldn’t recommend spending the money on these drops. Thanks so much for this video Penn! I had no idea what others thought and thought perhaps it just didn’t work for me. I actually feel validated, knowing others are underwhelmed as well. 💕

Just started watching this video and saw the ingredient oxymetazoline which is actually the active ingredient in Afrin nasal spray (do not use in your eyes!) it’s a decongestant and shrinks swollen mucus membranes. It also can cause rebound congestion of used longer than 3 days. I’d be curious if same restriction is on eye drops as it seems it would rebound there too…🤔

I’m 50 and noticed a very mild ptosis developing on my right eye because of seeing myself on all of the zoom meetings. I was given some samples of Upnique and will say there was a definite noticeable difference. I think these are only worth it if you actually have a mild ptosis which is different from hooded lids. The differences in your volunteers are so subtle because none of you really have ptosis. I’d purchase one box of these and use them for very special occasions. Definitely too expensive for regular use.

I do have ptosis of my right eyelid. I had blepharoplasty of both eyes years ago. Then another eye procedure required the use of a steroid drop for several months. The steroid caused my ptosis. My eye doctor recommended Upneeq and did give me two samples to try and put a drop in each eye the day of my appointment. I saw a big difference in the right eye. I went back later and purchased a box. I only use it in the right eye if I am going to a special occasion or outing. Very happy I bought Upneeq.

I love these drops and see a huge difference. I actually do have ptosis in one eye due to eye surgery. These drops lift the eyelid so that it looks the same as the other eye. I do think you have to actually have ptosis to see a difference with these drops. They also do whiten the eyes. I'm very happy with them.

I have a droppy eye due to going through several glaucoma surgeries, was diagnosed in my late 20s. My doe eyes were my favorite feature, so living with my droppy eye has been confidence crushing. A millimeter would be life-changing for me. I was beyond excited when Upneeq came out. But, I don't think I can use them due to my glaucoma. Big bummer. I did see a subtle difference in the before and afters. Yours being the biggest difference.

    • @vivellaz
      @vivellaz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I also have Glaucoma. I use 5 eyedrops a day, 3 different types. I would assume Upneeq would be totally contra-indicated in anyone using Glaucoma eyedrops as I am advised not to use any anti-histamine type drops. I think Glaucoma eyedrops aim at increase circulation and expulsion of fluids in the eye and anything that constricts would be bad to use and counter the effects of the Glaucoma drops.

    • @dottym83

@@vivellaz Hi Vivella! It's refreshing to meet someone who knows what I'm going through. I take 4 different drops, a total of 9x a day. I also have two ahmed valves (in one eye), a removed cataract, and several lasers performed. My eye pressures like to fluctuate, so it's been a bumpy journey. And yes, Upneeq would cause my pressures to rise unfortunately. I believe that's why the side effects cause headaches and blurred vision in some. What are your thoughts on using Microcurrent to aid in, not only droppy lid, but also visual benefits?

I really didn’t see much of a difference between the before and after photos. I would be extremely hesitant in using these drops, since they are extremely new and would want to know about long term effects. Eyes are a super sensitive area and I would be so careful in experimenting with anything. I am just overly cautious with this area.
If someone needs surgery, I would encourage surgery over drops. I am sure that these drops are over priced in order to sell to people who want more of a quick cosmetic improvement than a true medical one. Just my opinion..
Thanks for sharing and informing us of another alternative for our eyes.😍💕

I took the plunge on this product a month ago. Yes, it is expensive. As you mentioned, one has to evaluate their budget when making a decision. I did did notice a slight difference with my results. The manufacturer states average resale 1-2mm. Looking at a ruler, that is a very tiny measurement. I had to adjust my expectations before dropping $200+. The single use packaging sucks. While I don’t recommend this for others, I am able to make 1 applicator last 3 days as there is a total of 6 drops in each. Storing the open package is a pain as I want to keep it sterile and prevent spillage. The dryness is the only side effect that I have experienced. Sometimes I will take a break for a couple of days. I also had a bit of a headache when I first started using. Will I repurchase? I’m not sure at this point.

I can see a minimal change in the shape of the eye wich like you said is minimal. If you had vision problems then ya that subtle lift would make a difference to your sight especially in situations like reading for a length of time or certain lighting where muscle strain is more likely. At that price to me not worth it. I wonder how much this would cost in other countries....does it really need to cost THAT much? If it was affordable maybe more people would try it or maybe they know the benefit is minimal and they need to make the maximum because you won't repurchase.....especially after we got educated by Penny's third party testing! I love learning on this channel and I myself was curious about these drops so im glad that you did the work for this video. I do love lumify every morning for bright eyes too! Have a great evening!

A bit of a tangent here but I had sudden ptosis in around the age of 20 due to Hashimoto’s (that was the symptom that led to blood tests and diagnosis) and my mom took me to get an upper blepharoplasty at that time to correct the problem. Interestingly, I noticed in my 30s in pics that my eyes looked noticeably smaller than those of others due to the blepharoplasty (I read this happens with removal of fat in the lids). Unfortunate, but it didn’t bother me a ton. However, now in my 40s, my upper eye lids are super crepey (nowhere else on my face looks anything like this) and I’m positive it’s because of the upper bleph and removal of fat that typically keeps lids looking plumper. THAT bothers me a lot - looks really out of place and doesn’t seem like much can be done about it.

I work in a dermatology office and patients LOVE Upneeq. People describe it as "a cup of coffee for your eyes". I've personally seen hundreds of women walk out of our clinic with eyes incredibly whiter and wider. The most common comment I hear is "This is what my eyes used to look like!" The boxes are literally flying off our shelves. Thanks for doing this video but I don't think it's a fair demonstration: Penn's eyes are already lifted from prior surgery and the models chosen have practically zero exposed eyelid so they are not good representations of what this eyedrop can do. Go to your dermatologist, eye doctor, or medspa and ask to do the Upneeq challenge. Chances are you'll be blown away.

So you have to have exposed eyelids to see results?
The lady at the Med spa where we bought our *two* boxes didn’t mention that.
She also happily sold them to us….so my point is these aren’t going to do much for lots of people. If the 4 of us were not good candidates that just underscores my point….before buying these drops make sure you’re a good candidate. I said that these are GREAT for people who actually need them.
Unfortunately at least one of the four of my volunteers really thought she needed them. So even if you see lots of people who love them, there are lots of people who will think they need them and then they won’t work for them.
I think you may have misunderstood my point 😊
