I think we should give Scotty a break. You never know what's going on in his head. I personally have been in the Philippines before where I'm hungry, exhausted, need some quiet time alone, stressed out, anxiety, etc. I would just shut down and not want to be around people. It's called survival mode. Maybe he was burnt out with being around Tim. Im not defending his actions but some people are just awkward socially. We never know. Most people being ghosted would be upset. I'm glad Tim didn't take it personally and kept being positive. I know Tim has a good heart.
As I wrote in my separate comment, Tim K from the start was an overbearing a-ho and didn't care at all about his "friend" Scotty. I only wish Scotty had had the nerve to tell him to get lost at the beginning.

Not only did he give him a ride on the ferry, allowing him to get to his destination, but he even paid for his own hotel room and apparently didn't ask for compensation. If it weren't for Tim's help, Scotty would have to drive back into the island, double back on the other peninsula, spending huge amounts of time and effort and money.

Tim mucho credit to you for being a helpful person and keeping a positive attitude even after things went pretty south on your adventure. Scotty, on the other hand, seems to be off his game. All of his encounters with the locals seemed a bit weird, and how he treated Tim is unconscionable.
Sometimes personalities just clash or you think a collaboration would be great and it's a flop in person. I wouldn't take it too personally. Everyone has a story, we are all in the Philippines for one reason or another. Loner, hurt, weird, stress, recovery from a substance, PTSD, broke, don't fit in....I have only been a month but it was obvious every expat has their own story and why they are escaping from the West. It is what it is....
Scotty needed more space. I think he thought TIM K was smothering him (being buddies 24/7). my guess is neither one of them discussed the specifics with each other before they got together and being opposite in personalities made one of the parties (scotty) uncomfortable. but maybe scotty should have never agreed or asked to get together with tim K if he wanted more free time to himself. hope their still friends. sometimes things just don't click between 2 people very well.
I could see the personality clash pretty much immediately also when looking at his channel I don’t quite understand him a lot of his channel is talking head videos.
Wow Tim, Scott came to you not the other way around to meet you and get to know your way of life in your hometown. You totally went out of your way to help him in every way possible to feel at home with you. You came up with a way to get on the Cargo Ferry to help him get where he was going and I did not see much thanks for that. You joked with him to keep the conversation fun and uplifting. I can't believe he would just leave you without saying a word after all you did for him. All he had to say was Tim I appreciate your help and enjoyed your company but I am moving on down the road and you would have been happy for him.

Wow, what a hell of a nice guy to get Scotty on the ferry using your motorbike even though you had to pay $50 for a room and take the long trip. It might be good for the channel but still a hell of a good guy to help Scotty out. Once again you can clearly see the difference between Tim and Scotty, one guy is a smooth operator the other is rusty and crusty, even when tired Tim was still positive, friendly and smooth while Scotty was in the dumps. Maybe there is more to this story, I think maybe they set-us-up for something to come. If I wanted to move on I would have at least thanked Tim and explained I needed to move on. Tim is a strong personality, he tends to dominate things, not that he is trying to dominate but his personality is such that he does he is so smooth but Scotty is about the opposite, rough around the edges. If this is real Tim took it all in stride and he didn't seem to miss a beat. Incredible. Always look for the positive.
It is an interesting analysis Mike. This is what happened in real time with me obviously playing it up as I anticipated the pieces moving as they did. There is no collusion hoax here. It is what it is. Scotty is not a bad guy and I did tell him that I would roast him in advance. If he makes a video rebuttal it will be from a position of weakness. I told him not to do that, but I think the urge is too strong.

Tim K is a good dude. I watch his videos for a few years now and have seen him really grow and see Crissy mature over the years. In a why I am jealous of Tim's life in the Philippines and I wish I could do that. Tim is a good host.
There's always 2 sides of a story and I will withhold judgement until I hear the other side. Perhaps the ferry to Dinagat Island left very early the following morning and he didn't want to wake you up. Nevertheless, its looks very ungrateful for Scotty to just leave without telling you. I look forward to hearing his side of the story.

Hi Tim, I just picked up your channel and enjoy the travel series with Regularguy. I would have just stayed at the hotel the entire morning, regardless of the other ferry, enjoying the ac and breakfast after a journey on the cargo ship. That looks like a solid 2 1/2 to 3 star hotel. You would have figured at least a phone call or text presuming you exchanged numbers.
Tim this whole episode with The “Regular Guy” reminded me of the movie: “Planes, Trains and Automobiles “ where John Candy tried to get on Steve Martin’s last nerve. Lol! You could call this Motor Scooters, Ferry Boats and hotels lol! Not sure about The Regular Guy. You were so kind to help him get across to Surigao only for him to ditch you. What’s up with that? Scotty will have a hard time finding a right woman in Phil. For a good Filipina to liked you, it means you have a good personal attitude, honest, maintain good hygine, knows to take care yourself including handling yourself financially, embrace local culture and be respectful to elders, be generous to others, dont come out or show being cheap, be polite and respectful, love and accept their family. If Scotty think the Filipina woman is after his money, his passport or bec. his white, his relationship will not last longer. To win the heart of the locals and gain more subscibers in Phil. embrace the locals, dont come cheap and be generous and describe why you love Phil.

Having seen many of scotts vids i know he's very fixated on hotel rates. He basically sleeps in anything with 4 walls and a bed. The cheaper the better. That said, if 700 pesos over budget throws you off big time, perhaps you shouldn't travel that often or just try to book online upfront to find the absolute best deal. Also, when money is that tight, it takes all enjoyment out of the trip itself. There must always be some leeway on your budget.

Tim, how kind and generous of you to help Scotty get out of a difficult situation. Scotty, what is up with ghosting him? You could have left him a message on his room phone and coordinated to have breakfast with him at the very least. If you make a habit of that sort of behavior, you might find your friend list gets a bit thin.
My sense is that he was triggered very soon after meeting Tim - maybe from the first moment. He definitely seems to be a troubled personality and a loner who can't be comfortable in the company of a more alpha male who takes control of the agenda - even if the agenda was designed to be of aid to him.
1) I dont think Scottie Boy as found his chill yet. He still wants to see and do everything but wants to do it all today. He hasnt figured out that it will all still be there tomorrow. I think we all go through a short period of that with anything new. 2) Part I don't understand is if we met, you helped me out, play tour guide for the day or whatever and we were just not te others cup of tea..... I think we would have ate, drank a beer or two or whatever. I would have thanked you, shook your hand, wished you well and we would have both went on with life.

I watched this collaboration as fans of both TimK and Scotty boy Tim I have a tremendous amount of respect for the way you handled yourself. We already knew Scotty was strange to say the least but that was rude to just ghost you. I think Tim is perfect. This shows the experience, I can’t think of a single person being sick of him. That guy was straight up a weirdo. You can see it in his personality. The best part of it is how Tim doesn’t let this take from his mini vacay. What an unappreciative dude. Tim is also looking for a friend too which makes him so cool to me.
I try to support as much as I can by watching his videos but I would love to actually spend time with him and his family. It’s just never boring. Even if they’re just going out to eat. SCOTTY probably should have did that. but if you watch his video's, you will know he is the biggest tight azz with money there is. he often stays in the $10 a night motel rooms. but, it will clearly help tim K. so I think don't think it's that big of deal. Scotty's YT channel will keep growing very fast (with or without Tim K's help) if he keep's doing what's he's doing (traveling all over the PH to remote places and vlogging about it). but, I don't think scotty really cares how fast his YT channel grows. he's pretty raw and doesn't care who he offends. that's one reason his channel is growing so fast.

Scotty seemed sketchy from the start. Nervous, jumpy, uncomfortable. I wouldn't worry about him.
Wow, what a hell of a nice guy to get Scotty on the ferry using your motorbike even though you had to pay $50 for a room and take the long trip. It might be good for the channel but still a hell of a good guy to help Scotty out. Once again you can clearly see the difference between Tim and Scotty, one guy is a smooth operator the other is rusty and crusty, even when tired Tim was still positive, friendly and smooth while Scotty was in the dumps. Maybe there is more to this story, I think maybe they set-us-up for something to come. If I wanted to move on I would have at least thanked Tim and explained I needed to move on. Tim is a strong personality, he tends to dominate things, not that he is trying to dominate but his personality is such that he does he is so smooth but Scotty is about the opposite, rough around the edges. If this is real Tim took it all in stride and he didn't seem to miss a beat. Incredible. Always look for the positive.
It is an interesting analysis Mike. This is what happened in real time with me obviously playing it up as I anticipated the pieces moving as they did. There is no collusion hoax here. It is what it is. Scotty is not a bad guy and I did tell him that I would roast him in advance. If he makes a video rebuttal it will be from a position of weakness. I told him not to do that, but I think the urge is too strong.

Tim K is a good dude. I watch his videos for a few years now and have seen him really grow and see Crissy mature over the years. In a why I am jealous of Tim's life in the Philippines and I wish I could do that. Tim is a good host.
There's always 2 sides of a story and I will withhold judgement until I hear the other side. Perhaps the ferry to Dinagat Island left very early the following morning and he didn't want to wake you up. Nevertheless, its looks very ungrateful for Scotty to just leave without telling you. I look forward to hearing his side of the story.

Hi Tim, I just picked up your channel and enjoy the travel series with Regularguy. I would have just stayed at the hotel the entire morning, regardless of the other ferry, enjoying the ac and breakfast after a journey on the cargo ship. That looks like a solid 2 1/2 to 3 star hotel. You would have figured at least a phone call or text presuming you exchanged numbers.
Tim this whole episode with The “Regular Guy” reminded me of the movie: “Planes, Trains and Automobiles “ where John Candy tried to get on Steve Martin’s last nerve. Lol! You could call this Motor Scooters, Ferry Boats and hotels lol! Not sure about The Regular Guy. You were so kind to help him get across to Surigao only for him to ditch you. What’s up with that? Scotty will have a hard time finding a right woman in Phil. For a good Filipina to liked you, it means you have a good personal attitude, honest, maintain good hygine, knows to take care yourself including handling yourself financially, embrace local culture and be respectful to elders, be generous to others, dont come out or show being cheap, be polite and respectful, love and accept their family.
If Scotty think the Filipina woman is after his money, his passport or bec. his white, his relationship will not last longer.
To win the heart of the locals and gain more subscibers in Phil. embrace the locals, dont come cheap and be generous and describe why you love Phil.

Having seen many of scotts vids i know he's very fixated on hotel rates. He basically sleeps in anything with 4 walls and a bed. The cheaper the better. That said, if 700 pesos over budget throws you off big time, perhaps you shouldn't travel that often or just try to book online upfront to find the absolute best deal.
Also, when money is that tight, it takes all enjoyment out of the trip itself. There must always be some leeway on your budget.

Scotty, what is up with ghosting him? You could have left him a message on his room phone and coordinated to have breakfast with him at the very least. If you make a habit of that sort of behavior, you might find your friend list gets a bit thin.

My sense is that he was triggered very soon after meeting Tim - maybe from the first moment. He definitely seems to be a troubled personality and a loner who can't be comfortable in the company of a more alpha male who takes control of the agenda - even if the agenda was designed to be of aid to him.

1) I dont think Scottie Boy as found his chill yet. He still wants to see and do everything but wants to do it all today. He hasnt figured out that it will all still be there tomorrow. I think we all go through a short period of that with anything new.
2) Part I don't understand is if we met, you helped me out, play tour guide for the day or whatever and we were just not te others cup of tea..... I think we would have ate, drank a beer or two or whatever. I would have thanked you, shook your hand, wished you well and we would have both went on with life.

I think Tim is perfect. This shows the experience, I can’t think of a single person being sick of him. That guy was straight up a weirdo. You can see it in his personality. SCOTTY probably should have did that. but if you watch his video's, you will know he is the biggest tight azz with money there is. he often stays in the $10 a night motel rooms. but, it will clearly help tim K. so I think don't think it's that big of deal. Scotty's YT channel will keep growing very fast (with or without Tim K's help) if he keep's doing what's he's doing (traveling all over the PH to remote places and vlogging about it). but, I don't think scotty really cares how fast his YT channel grows. he's pretty raw and doesn't care who he offends. that's one reason his channel is growing so fast.
