  • David Dagley and Dagley's Stoney go out to the pasture and load 8 yearling bulls into a trailer so they can haul them down to the corral where the vet will test them.
Stoney is a registered Hangin Tree Cowdog out of Trayer's Savage Sam x Trayer's Marti. He was 17 months old in this video. David has been training Stoney since he was a pup, and is very happy with how he is turning out.
It is always fun when we get a cowdog to the level where we can use them to get a job done on the ranch!

I expect there is a level of success and entertainment with this level of achievement for both you and the dog. Well done! 70 yo daughter of S Dakota farmers.

He is a fine animal, great watching him work. I never thought about y'all having so many Prairie Dogs until this video.
    Got leg breaking holes everywhere.

Thanks! Yes, we do have to watch our step with the prairie dogs. Thankfully they clear the grass away and raise the dirt around their holes making them easier to spot most of the time. It's when they are abandoned that they're a little harder to see.

Amazing dog and trainer! I worked for a fellow who ran some cattle, and he had a border collie cow dog. I watched him working with the dog, one day. He stood at the edge of his pasture and just pointed and the dog did his thing, rounding up the cows, then cutting the one out of the herd and bringing it to the trailer so it could go to the vet. No voice commands that I could discern - just the occasional whistle.

Stoney is a young gun learning. I believe he will turn out to be a javelin male. When he is mature.

I just watched an ad for Enbrel only cuz I hope you get some income for it. I’m not sure how that works but I know channels can be monetized. If you are, I’ll watch all the ads rather than skipping them. 💕 With all the hard work you do and how caring you are with the animals, you deserve it!

      @ ready to go
They do get a small/very small amount of money for watching the adds. ( not enough in my opinion)
If the channel is Afiliated with an item / company they get more
Like and subscribe will help also.
If they have a patron acct. , you can support them that way also.
I just got back into TH-cam videos, so I don't know how this channel is set up. New ipad so I don't know how to use it ( I'm like Stoney) I'm learning this thing.
Hope that helps not trying to be a know it all at all ,just my 2 cents worth

Me too. Lots of room in the cab for his working partner! Or at least he could have let this dog ride in the trailer.

@@pennystiles6961 That dog must be very expensive. It would be a shame to have him injured or killed. In my town in California it is the law that dogs must be leashed if in the back of a truck.

I looked, and the dog was eventually sold for $15,000. If there was any risk at all to the dog, he wouldn't have him ride there.

  • @MK-lz8vj

Why do you have the dog on the back of your truck like that? If you stop short, or get in an accident, your dog can be killed. Not smart.

    • @downeastjd1711
      @downeastjd1711 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Not a whole lot of risk, of stopping short/accident, in that environment. Wide open spaces, with tons of visibility, and not much traffic. The people are usually paying attention to what they're doing, too.

Them dogs are more secure on the back of a truck then we think they are.

yep. He paid alot for Stoney and spent many hours training him. so, ya, Dagley is too dumb to know what you're telling him. He loves his dogs and wouldn't do anything to hurt them. If you cant tell, either stick around, watch more and learn, or just go away.
