Excuse the severe bags under my eyes by the way! I've been working hard on a lot of different projects lately and my sleep has suffered haha

I like truth in everything. Just because we live in a second rate movie world now... doesn't mean the simple story told truthfully isn't the best.....yes.

This is a double edged sword. Yes directors should have creative freedom, so films will be more diverse and more memorable. No directors should not have creative freedom, because this can also hurt the film for most people. Look at what happened with Tenet. I loved it, but a lot of people didn't.

Ponysmasher (Director of Shazam! and Lights Out, David F Sandberg) Made a video discussing test screenings a couple of years ago.

Nolan, Kubrick, Tarantino, Herzog, Coppola, Scorsese, Leone etc. they always haved the creative control of their movies. There is no discussion for that, filmaker need always the creative control over the producers.

Kubrick didn't have control over Spartacus, and Coppola's One From The Heart, which I show in the video, was one of the biggest box office flops in history and is cited as one of the films which ended the American New Wave.

@@DysnomiaFilms Spartacus was an exception, because Kirk wanted him but at least the movie was a hybrid of Douglas, Trumbo & Kubrick ideas.
But I repeat, the question has only one answer...yes, every great director haved always the total control of their movies.
