I think the defense will be kinda shaky for the first month due to the transition to a new scheme, but also fitting in the pieces.
I think it the betting line, I’d bet on the over 9.5 wins. 11-12 wins would be my bet.

I have Packers at 11 wins. The first half of the season last year was absolutely the youth learning curve and then figuring out playmakers. Through week 5 they led the league in drops and they didn’t even feature Wicks until then also. And Mayfield is who he is, we’ve seen the sample size.

You guys really have a poor eye for football. Its a team game. Love struggled in the first half of the season because 1. The offensive line was absolutely garbage and they were still moving guys around 2. Aaron Jones got hurt and AJ Dillon was one of the worst backs in the NFL (read: teams got to sit on the pass) 3. The offense had a few rookies starting. Love is making the throws you want to see. Baker never made the tough throws. Tlaw doesn't make the tough throws. All of the fundamentals are there with Love. Barring some insane injury bug, the Packers are a 11-12 win team.

This Packers team looks to build off an impressive 2023 season with continued development from their young players and a new DC to lead a defense that underachieved. The roster remains nearly identical other than purposeful changes at OL, S, LB and RB.
That's not an exaggeration. Other than those 4 positions the rest of the roster moves are so minor that the only ones with a realistic chance of landing a 53 man roster spot consist of 7th round picks, veteran minimum type signings and UDFAs used to add competition at kicker/LS/backup QB and CB depth (Kalen King) while the only other departure was TE Josiah Deguara in free agency but Tyler Davis returns from injury to fill his spot.

@@williamhermann6635 regardless of how optimistic you are on them 13+ very hard to do and it’s the high end of everything breaking right for the packers which means it’s a homer take. The whole DC change and player excitement is a narrative as old as time in GB when they’ve changed coordinators the last 30 years, gotta see proof . Same thing with special teams and it’s even no sure thing the offense is gonna just cook like it did for most of the 2nd half last year. For as good as love and the packers O we’re down the stretch, there was still the TB, NYG, and SF games. More likely than not, those types of performances where the team doesn’t hit its potential happens a handful of times. The D and O still hit their growing pains and the schedule isn’t the easiest thing in the world on paper.

Theres way too many cases where teams do not support their players and give them the everyday confidence they need. Theres a reason why they say the game is 25% physical and 75% mental. If your team doesn't support you why would you give your all to them. Baker got traded from the browns because they needed a scapegoat. In Carolina he was in a qb carousel and wanted out becasue the team just sucks. In La he finally got a chance to play meaningfull football for the first time since that playoff run. He played really solid on short notice and earned himself the starting spot in Tampa where he then took them to the playoffs simply off the fact that they didn't just give up on him. The packers energy and confidence alone will win them games.

Once again this team continues to be disrespected. Nothing new for the Packers.
But that's a positive because this team has ALWAYS excelled when they were underestimated!
It's when they've been favored & expected to win they have been miserable failures.
Two Hall of Fame QBs for 30 years plus but only 2 Superbowl victories to show for it.
Jordan Love proved last season when he protects the ball he is an absolute baller.
With the master Tom Clements returning to coach him another season things look bright!
Can he turn Jordan Love into another great ball control QB as he did with Aaron Rodgers?
Remember he helped Brett Favre decrease his interceptions & become a HOF QB!
Kyler Murray the other young QB he mentored has turned into a decent QB for a midget!
First half of the 2023 season when Jordan was throwing interceptions he struggled greatly.
Down the stretch in the last 9 games he had 18 tds with only 1 interception & balled!
If Love can continue to protect the ball this team will be a serious Superball contender.
Next step in Love's progression now is to prove he can play in the clutch when it counts most!
He chocked late in games throwing interceptions when he needed a TD to win those games.
He did that also at the end of the San Francisco game as well. A team GB should have beaten.
Had Matt run the ball with Jones instead of throwing 6 incompletions on 1st downs 1st half.
Had he done so they'd beaten the Lions & KC for the second time last season to win the SB!
Let's just hope Matt has learned to lean into his run game & will run on 1st downs this year.
The Packers struggled start of last season winning the time of possession battle each game.
Matt is a offensive passing guru for certain but I sure wish he'd lean in his run game more!
Matt needs to do a much better job of controlling the clock & winning the time of possession.
This team made all the right moves during this off season. Kudos to Gutekunst & his staff!
They added & signed two premium big money free agents in Xavier McKinney & Josh Jacobs.
Gutekunst looks like he had another excellent draft grabbing some big names again in 2024.
He certainly looks like he hit it out of the park on day two grabbing Cooper, Bullard & Lloyd!
If this draft class is as good as last two were this team should absolutely excel this season.
They also let the underachievers walk (Darnell Savage, Josiah Deguara & Jon Runyan Jr).
Mr. Royce Newman your next! Time to cut this stiff which will gain GB 3.1 million vs the cap!
Stokes & Myers better excel this season or they also should be cut loose end of this season.
Next draft should be about replacing Kenny Clark & Preston Smith. Two Packer greats.
But both are aging & their games deteriorating. Those contracts are just too expensive now.
Youth makes more sense now so I would assume this is on Gutekunst's radar in 2025 draft.
This offense should be an absolute juggernaut this season. Improving with experience.
The backfield & strong running game can only compliment that deep WR/TE core they have.
If they can add 2 solid O line players with Elgton Jenkins & Zach Tom it can be elite again.
GB's offense is as potent as any team in this league bar none! No defense that scares me.
It's the addition of the new defensive coaches, a new defensive philosophy & scheme is key.
GB injected majority of it's draft capital into it's defense & O line where it was needed most.
I'm a very excited to see them pick up E Cooper a bonified run stuffing specialist in the draft.
Top ILB in this draft! With an improved back end should be able continue to focus on the run.
The Packers must prove this season they can finally stop the run game vs any team they play.
4 games last season vs run teams - ATL, PITT, DET, NYG all of whom went 200+ on ground!
This team needs a top 10 defense if they want to compete for the Superbowl this season.
That new backend looks to have the potential to be a top 5 secondary provided Jaire is back.
Alexander needs to earn that big fat paycheck after 2 injury riddled seasons & subpar play.
This unit needs to get turnovers. Something GB have always been leaders at in this league.
Past couple of seasons GB have struggled winning the turnover battle. That needs to change.
It's time for Rich Bisaccia to prove his worth! Packers special teams must excel this year.
With the return of Tyler Davis the Packers best special teams player two season ago.
Plus the addition of strong teams specialist in the draft & also resigning of most key teamers.
He has disputably the best returner in the NFL in Keisean Nixon new kick rules should help.
It's time for this unit to be among the league leaders & not underachieve once again!
Anders Carlson must improve in year two with more consistency in his kicking game.
Remember he was perfect thru first 7 games last season before struggling rest of the year.
This team should end up in the NFC championship game if they play to their potential.
Where they will likely face the SF 49ers their kryptonite! That needs to change in 2024-25!
    Go Pack Go!

A British Football (Sigh Soccer) talking head, very well respected former Player commenting on a certain team after a ropey game, stil won, but yeah lucky. @You'll never win anything with kids' was his erudite comment. The Team: Manchester United, the Players: Now I know most of you won't have a clue lol. but Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, The Neville Brothers Yeah that team, they went and won the whole thing and carried of for about 10 years give or take a season

I understand it's in the nature of fandom to take third party opinions that are sober but optimistic as negative, but the comments here are hilarious. Fans expecting the second half of the season to be the standard going forward with no bumps like we experienced in the first half are very likely in for some disappointment and consternation as growing pains continue to happen.

It's not impossible that some of these rookie receivers will have lousy second years. Packer fans know all too well about that--we just saw it last year with Watson, and even in the not-so-distant past people were calling for Davante Adams to be cut after his disastrous sophomore season. The thing is that the Packers had *so many* rookie pass-catchers step up in a big way--Reed, Wicks, Melton, Heath, Musgrave, Kraft. That's practically unheard of for a rookie class, and it leaves Green Bay in a very enviable situation. They're not *ALL* going to slip up, and odds are very good that at least one will take that next step. Throw Doubs and Watson into the mix (especially if Watson finally gets the hamstring injury bug under control) and the Packer offense is going to be frightening next year, and for quite some time to come.

Exactly. At least one guy is going to take a big second year jump, probalby more than one. The ones who don't can ride the bench.

IMO, everything depends on health and how the defense works! If the defense is as simplified as it sounds then Green Bay is likely going to the Super Bowl. Might sound crazy but I have watched Green Bay play my whole life which is from Lynn Dickey on and defense or the lack there of has been our down fall each and every season. Also the simplicity side of the equation is because when a defense knows exactly what their role is and plays with their hair on fire they are Always the best defenses! Look at San Fran or Ravens or the old Seahawk defense, those defenses were not fancy but extremely Fast and Sound! Hafley from interviews with Sherman and other defenders sounds like the perfect hire for Green Bay!
Common, the Offense, that's going to be lights out, who the H do you cover? How can you match up and then what happens in the running game when the running back behind center has been running against the 2nd most stacked defenses with only Derrick Henry getting more attention?
Don't stack the box, we're going to run it down your throat, stack the box and we're going to stretch the field! Try to play zone and we'll find the hole and march down the field all game long!
Packers are poised to win it all and I've seen a lot of great Packer teams but this team is special!

Love is getting all that hype.
All i see is a taller Tua Tagovailoa in another Shanahan ex-assist offense making players looking like MVPs.
If you search for the chart that shows accuracy to what percentage the receivers are wide open he is around the same as Purdy & Tua in the same system.
But they are system QBS and Love is star lol okay.
