SO, you gonna BUY one?? Or are you already LOVING one?? My favorites were Garden Story, Dreamscaper and Boomerang X! Sponsored by EXPRESS VPN! - Go to expressvpn.com/beatemups and find out how you can get 3 months of ExpressVPN free!
Started garden story, bought dreamscaper already, and want to get slime rancher eventually. Also got Mario and rabbids recently cause it was on sale. Much gaming to be done.

I know you wanted to play Calculator honestly and without cheats, but a exploit was found pretty quickly where you can just spam the 9 button (top left, right under the /) and then press x and then spam the 9 button and you can just do that again and again until you get a really high score.
I love roguelikes like Hades and Dreamscaper. Unlike games like The Binding of Isaac (not hating on Isaac I love the game and it's the roguelike I have the most hours in) when you die/lose a run it's not as disheartening. You get to go back and talk to NPCs and explore the hub world. Makes it easier and exciting for me to play multiple runs in one sitting.
Exactly! In such games, death was intertwined into the game’s fabric and feels like a part of the adventure, not like a failure. This is what I love in them.
Wood's top ten: 10. Boomerang X 9. Islanders 8. Slime rancher 7. Dreamscaper 6. Garden story 5. Eldest Souls 4. Dodgeball Academia 3. Calculator?? 2. Strange Brigade 1. Fez I just finished the whole list and realized he wrote all the games in the description :/ oh well
Wood, literally no one on TH-cam does this sort of content as good as you. I watch a bunch of game reviews and no one holds my attention like you do. You're the best. I love you.
One time his "hair flip" reminded me of Shantae and now that's all i ever think about when he does it. Anyway what I'm saying is Wood needs to do a Shantae cosplay.
Islanders was a game I saw and thought "I WILL be buying that" for other games on this list: I'm gonna wait for a sale on Slime Rancher; I recommended Dreamscaper to my brother because I know he's gonna love it; I'm debating getting Fez
Slime Rancher has got to be one of my top favourite games to kill time with. It can be so relaxing, and there's always new places to explore and unlock. Can't wait for Slime Rancher 2!
Wood, my little guy is turning 7 this weekend and we love watching you and Kim do your thing for our amusement. Could you do a Top 10 Switch Card Games? They love Pokemon, but I'm trying to broaden their interests.
I don't know too many card games but I love recommending Nexomon. It's very similar to the 2d pokemon games but is very open world and has quests. It might be a fun way to introduce them to more rpgs while still feeling familiar enough to what they already know and love.
There's something so satisfying about seeing how Wood has the exact same Switch setup I have on mine with the blue Zelda joycon and then the rest is Mario Edition. It's like a celebration of Nintendo's two biggest franchises!
Going through some stuff. Just wanted to say, since July 2020 when I picked up my Switch, you’ve been such a source of happiness for me. Thanks for keeping my inner child happy, Wood.
I love watching videos like this one, because I've just got a nintendo switch, and I'm still deciding which games to buy there's so many to choose from. 😎🤔
How can you not understand the story of Calculator? By far my favorite game. It actually started as a handheld gameboy type game. They always let us play at school. Such a nostalgic game.
i bought a game a few months ago and it's really good. it's called Megaton Rainfall and it's only like 16 australian dollars. basically you have a bunch of powers and abilities, you're immortal and you have to gain those abilities and use them against different robots and machines that are destroying the cities. the landscapes look great and you always get to fly around and you can even fly into space and go to different planets. it's really good and i highly recommend it as someone who rarely buys games off the eshop.
I’m not sure if you’ve mentioned this game before but “Serial Cleaner” is a really unique game that isn’t a terrible price. And a sequel just got announced yesterday at Gamescom!
Great additions to the list as usual! Is there any chance for a Switch Spooky Season themed list? There is a decent amount of spooky games on the console, granted not exclusive to the Switch, but somehow still seem super underrated. *Please see Death Mark, NG, Coma, Night in the Woods, etc.
I recommend Shadowverse Champion's Battle if you love stuff like Bakugan, Hearthstone, Yu-Gi-Oh. It's really fun and the characters remind me of early 4 Kids shows/Jetix shows. Very Saturday morning cartoon vibes. Oh and if you don't want to get it before playing there is a lengthy demo (about 2 hours if you want to level up your deck skill a lot) that doesn't limit you too much.
Thanks for that clarification on Slime Rancher, I’ve been really wanting to get on switch but I already own it on PC and since it was called the portable edition I thought it was a dumbed down version of the original, but now knowing it is indeed the full game definitely makes me want to get it.
Some really top titles here. Would be good to see the list of games in the description too. Missed the name of the zombie one and had to scroll back to find it. Not a big deal either way
"Dread Nautical" is a cool roguelike, turn-based strategy, horror RPG that not a lot of people talk about. Maybe because the game was an Epic store exclusive for half a year perhaps.
I hope he talks about Littlewood soon, it was in the intro and I've been playing it, Slime Rancher, and Cozy Grove a lot lately! Hope he adds Littlewood and maybe Cozy Grove to the series soon!
Wood! Where's The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles? I'd say it's one of the best Switch games of the entire year! Please pay more attention to that one, you won't regret it.
I love these so much because I’m such a casual gamer, if I don’t have a game I’m loving and super into then I can go so long without playing a thing, ily Wood 💜
You might've convinced me with Islanders. Normally I'm not into never ending games but now I'm tempted to try this one out I actually thought you would review Battle Calculator since I've had my eyes on it but no one has any content on it. Why, you ask? I teach math so I thought it might be a fun different activity for the students
I bought sliem rancher on the release day and I don't regret (but if you have too many slime (like me) or too many food (like me) than it will drop down to 20-30 fps but it was no problem for me :)
I don't know if you've included "Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos" in one of these videos, but it's a really good one. It's like A Link to the Past with upgradable items, some town building, farming and RPG elements, and randomized dungeons.
I stumbled upon fallout shelter that was for free in the eShop. Used to play it years ago on my kinda crappy phone. Really had a lot of fun again with the game on the switch.
I really think you should take a look at a game called "Monster Harvest" coming out on the 31st. It is a Stardew valley-esk game with a hint a pocket monsters. You can grow crops, build relationships, craft, etc. But you can use a tool called Slime (your uncle has discovered) to put on your crops to turn them into little monsters that you can turn around and battle them against wild ones. I would be very interested in what you have to say about the game.
I always appreciate these kinds of videos. Thanks for taking the time to try them out as my play time is rather limited. This is the second time I have heard of Strange Brigade and looks like a lot of fun. Will be picking it up. Love your videos. Hope you and Kim are staying healthy and doing well. See ya on the next one!!
The Dadish games are actually pretty great platformers that are cheap, cute, and very creative. I would love to know your reaction to these games Wood.
They did show up in one of his videos. I distinctly remember him talking about it. I think it was one where he bought random eshop games, and he was pleasantly surprised
I always love these videos. Thanks so much for taking the time to make them ❤️ it helps me be able to support smaller companies who might have just as awesome games as popular series.
Definitely going to check out Dodgeball Academy when I get the chance. An indie game I found that's gorgous and charming is The Last Campfire. I haven't finished it but it's great. Don't know when it released or if you covered it but I like it.

sus
Nah they added anti-cheat software in the last patch that fixed it for the most part.
@@BeatEmUps Oh really? I haven’t played it since launch.
It's fine, prime numbers still slow the whole thing down. It's gotten better, but is still far from perfect.
No joke saw a speed run of calculator where the person ended up have to go to the doctor for a hand injury
So happy to see you talking about our game Dodgeball Academia. Thank you so much for the love Wood! You’re awesome!
Your game is my favorite of the year. I loveeed Dodgeball and all the characters !
o jogo é sensacional cara, to zerando aqui! orgulho para os brs
Really cool looking game. Gonna check it out!
i just wish the dodgeball gameplay was some kind of round based gameplay. other than that, the game looks amazing, a mix of gumball, adventure time
I just started it last night and digging so far
Dreamscaper peaked my interest immediately, fighting at night and exploring the town in the day. This game is definitely a must have for me
Garden story has been a bunch of fun! Will have to try out Dodgeball Academia

Nah I just dislike isaac, the game is pretty gross and the shooting mechanics is just not for me.
@@MaciekGajewski Great way to describe it! That's what I was trying to say in my comment haha.

Slime Rancher has got to be one of my top favourite games to kill time with. It can be so relaxing, and there's always new places to explore and unlock. Can't wait for Slime Rancher 2!
Dodgeball Academia is a game from my country Brazil I could not be more proud of it❤️
I got dreamscaper just a couple days ago and I’m in love
Edit: I got it confused with spiritfarer lol, I’ve never played dreamscaper
I’m smart
Islanders is such a good game for road trips and just for a relaxing game to play
