Perhaps they could cordon off the five Rathas to preserve them for posterity. They way the school excursions treat them, they probably won't survive for long.
The video is well made, but I pity the monument. I wonder which school these students are from and how their teachers can be so illiterate that they lack the sense of preserving archaeological monuments. I pity these people; the students might not know better, but I agree that those children should be guided by their teachers. They have climbed on the monument wearing shoes and slippers and have even climbed on the statues. You are supposed to maintain the sanctity of the place. I’m not being religious here, but as a student of archaeology and a learner of history, I feel bad about how historical sites are kept and how some fellow Indians take care of them. We need to respect our heritage and culture. This is my opinion, and I do not entertain any comments.

the oldest civilisation in india is indus river valley which was started around 3000bc meaning 5000 years ago, so its not possible to have 10000 year old structure, infact there is no 10000 structure or city anywhere in the world, please educate yourself better
@@Indian_gae_boii Indus valley came to an end during Mahabarat, Balarama mentions that river saraswati is drying. Indus valley is part of india culture but did not continue till current day. But other places still populated

It is Mamallapuram (the Great Wrestler, for which the Pallavar king was known for) in Tamil. Not Mahabalipuram, which has no meaning in Tamil and is an attempt to impose sanskrit on Tamils and dilute their history and their identity. TH-camrs like you should follow the naming convention of the people to whom the monument or history belongs. Regards, Thevar TAMIL
I think you mistook something I will explain to you, in that place there is no god statue, no poja's or ritual are done. God statues are in museum. So technically that place is very hot, can't walk without shoes or slippers in roads, some rocks... So without knowing anything don't simply comment...
I liked this video very much.

I noticed that too I wrote a letter to the archealogical survey of india and ministry of culture hope they respond to it
@@PoppinThePig appreciate that!!
Yes the place looks clean but you should take time to show the items in the stalls instead of going through so quickly
You ‘should’ make your own video maybe 🙏🏼

I first went in 1984/5. This place has changed immensely. But Ooty now is awful.. all of its character and quaintness has been destroyed.
