My favorite installment in the series, hands down. This did so much justice to the original I just had to give it a place in my favorites it's just so well done. Thank you!
wow. I was expecting a flute for the opening solo, but this is awesome. it totally works. awesome. this right here proves the genius of Nobuo Uematsu and why FF VI has the best soundtrack of the entire series.
I did an arrangement of this once. I can't find it now, but I do remember that I had taken the strings that were building and falling and made the build and fall slower. It went from mysterious sounding to downright chilling.
This is another example of not having too many instruments clouding important melodies. That, of course, begs the question, what work of yours is guilty of this? To be honest, I had the teensiest trouble finding one, which must mean that you're really, really damn good at this. But I did find one: Final Fantasy VII - JENOVA. You kept one choir to the melody, but added another outside of it, along with some bells and whistles. You almost could've gotten away with this if not for having such heavy reverb. So either get rid of a bit of the fluff on that one, or turn down the reverb--whichever is less necessary for its epicness. For what I consider to be a near-perfect remaster, I'd like you to look at a looping version of the Tokyo Philharmonic's FFIV - The Red Wings. th-cam.com/video/kdwws-Q93Lo/w-d-xo.html Of course, the Tokyo Philharmonic players aren't exactly known for silky smoothness. But if you could just imagine there being a little more of that, then it would be a great piece to study.
Another one of my favorites in this series
