Upon unzipping the tent I was confronted by “Wonderland.” Though it was cold having been outside for a month I don’t recall even shivering. I do remember cold fingers when beginning to ride and the warmth of the cylinder heads as it warmed heating my deer skin leather work gloves I rode with. No heated handle bar grips on a 1971 Honda CB450. I am so envious of your journey and so thankful I took mine.
I never knew Zion and Bryce National Park were so close together until I rode out that way with a friend in 2017. The long tunnel running through Zion was pretty amazing.
I'm doing the 48 States in 10 Days Iron Butt ride next month and have picked up some useful tips from your posts. Thank you so much. i wish I was young and single again because I would give anything to live on the bike for a while. Stay safe.
I was just out there, next time I'll go when the kids are back in school. I also ended up taking Kolob Terrace Road to that lake, picked a spot to camp (warm and sunny when I was there), guy next to me starts playing loud rock music in his truck. Screw that, headed back, sun was going down, then stumbled on a little rock climbing place with 8 campsites, all empty!
Not to far from hwy 9 on Kolab Terrace Road there was a guy renting out spaces next to the river 5+ years ago. Stayed there for a night after hiking the subway.
I so LOL'd on your comment, "I hope the mud doesn't freeze"..... simple caption: "It Does". And I see you are dead set on night camping setup. haha. BTW, I know how committed you are to coffee based on the size of that can. A man has to have priorities and I will admit it's better than my large canister of Jack D. Safe ride my friend.
How cool! We rode Zion and Bryce the weekend after you were there. Saw the Reservoir sign and said “what the heck lets go check it out.” Beautiful evening ride just as you displayed in the video. Many time the best places you find were not in your plans. Thanks Tim. Great job. Stay safe.

Agree the East entrance is better way to enter the park with the views. Usually I think it has less traffic too but not on that holiday. Snow again, you can not get away. Very nice sunrise though. Miechelle and I did a car tour of Zion, Bryce, Arches and Canyonlands last October, we had a great 10 days. It was a wonderful trip, your Utah videos bring back so many fond memories for a couple flat-landers from Iowa!

Utah is a wonderful next door neighbor for us Colorado kids. Love Zion! That long tunnel is wild... and really fun with loud pipes. The resonant frequencies are something to behold. I laughed the whole way through. Beautiful place and great camera angles to catch it. Yeah - the weather has been crazy this year. I wanted Utah for Memorial Day but ended up in New Mexico for fear of the weather. It ended up being a cool trip and a bit warmer than yours. Travel safe!
We sat in line for over an hour when we went a couple of years ago. It was beautiful and worth it. That look on your face "winter camping". I actually laughed loudly. Looked like you had solitude though. Nice! Hot morning coffee, snow, priceless. Now that was a fun video!

I wonder if adding a simple taught tether to make a triangle in compression might reduce the cam 'rocking'? I remember, even better than the scenery, my first impression of riding in Zion: I learned what it's like to be an ant in a rock garden.
My wife & I did the Utah National Parks in late September, early October. No large crowds, cool but nice weather. Don’t know how you got those amazing videos of u cruising the park on your bike???

5:15 recaps many of my camping spot searches throughout the years racing into the sunset... Only difference other than not going during the winter is I find any dirt road with trees/foliage to hide the bike... cover it with a camo tarp, and set up camp. Now I just ask someone at the park if I can sleep next to my bike on their site. BTW there is a section of river on the way to the Subway hike in Zion where you can sleep next to but its been 6-7 years since I was there...
Looks like you went to Kolob Reservoir. Very nice, but there are tons of BLM and USFS sites nearby... Get the Ultimate CG project app. Love your videos and this music was great.
I really liked the camera angle when it was way out in front of you. It would be interesting to see what the views look like if you put it out on the pole but instead of toward you (which was cool) have it facing frontwards. Not sure it would work but it would be something different.

It was crowded over there, there were so many people in the area that weekend. I checked all the camping areas in a 30 mile radius if the entrance and I had to go even further than that to find something. That area you mentioned is really scenic by the way, great option for camping.

There are so many magnificent sites in Zion; The Narrows, Angles Landing, etc. If all I knew about Zion was what you showed, I would not be drawn to the place. Zion is a beautiful place but just how beautiful can't be a recognizable from this episode even though he shows some nice scenes. It just doesn't compare.
loose the blinking head light!!!! all it does is confuse cars, rode with a friend who has one, cars don't know what you are ,even had cars pulling over thinking we were emergence vehicles, people are confused enough, don't make it worse, headlight on and as always ride like the idiots are really trying to kill you
Kolob was hit harder by snow than usual this year and we've had a much cooler spring than usual. We ride these roads almost every weekend being from St George so it's interesting seeing someone else's opinion of them. Probably worst weekend ever to go through the park.
Awesome video! Only an adventurer goes from "Im over dressed for this heat " to " looky at the snow!" and loving it! Zion is the only park I've been to in Utah. Got my high quality t-shirt! Saving it for my Utah trip in october. I would like to see a sticker like your round logo.

His headlight doesn't blink. It's an LED, so it just looks that way on camera.
