Wow, you did such a great job with this "pressed paper furniture". It looks so good with the flowers in front and the nice drawers. Thanks Sabrina for this video.
The result is great, although I wouldn't work on an MDF furniture, but it sure depends on the price you counted for it. Thank you for the video. You are alwyas an inspiration.
A word of caution.....a few years ago, I was sanding a piece with my orbital sander. Much like you I was encountering paper and glue that had to come off. Of note, I had not only washed the piece before sanding, I had used a stiff brush because there was so much dirt. As I sanded, layers of paper and glue were coming off fairly easily, but it seemed to be endless. I was working a whitish colored spot when red emerged. All of a sudden, the sander flew to ground, and something brushed my hair as it flew over my head. The sandpaper was stuck to the dresser, and the orbiting pad had pulled off the sander and flown over my head. The recoil of the pad being ripped from the sander is what caused the sander to end up on the floor. When I tried to pick up the sandpaper, I could not pull it from the dresser. I had to chisel the sandpaper off dresser and chisel off a really dense glue/resin material that had melted, attached to the sandpaper, and stopped the orbital sander from orbiting. All this to say, be careful when you are sanding glued material. I was very lucky that flying pad didn't actually hit me in the head and the sander didn't hit me. All I had was a sore wrist. I do love the replacement sander, and I'm much more careful about unexpected substances as I sand.
Amazing Sabs! The challenge of this piece would have pushed me over the edge! Your talent for repairing and restoring is above and beyond anything I know. This piece is stunning! I love everything you did. You are so talented. Just a side note lol… your voice is so soothing and gentle.
That is a cool technique and does look like a cloud. The transfer is beautiful. It's good to know that Behr is a good option for chalk paint, totally accessible.
Wow... what an amazing job you did on this piece. I wasn't sure when you stippled the white on and thought no way will that work. You absolutely outdid yourself on this piece. I love it. What a beautiful transformation. I will not doubt you in the future. thank you for sharing your beautiful artwork. God bless.
I have an antique that I have been trying to figure out how to redo, you gave me the greatest idea how to make it over. Thank you so much, you have made a silk purse out of a sows ear. I know, old saying.
I am in Oklahoma also and it is another hot summer not unlike many of the last 60+ years. I used to do a lot of woodworking many years ago and got a lot of satisfaction from it. I recently found your channel and see products and processes I have never seen before. This grandma is almost tempered to see if you need a free labor apprentice. Really enjoy watching you. Thank you.
Wonderful restoration and I like your choice of color scheme! I have alot of family heirlooms an some antiques... keep up the good work thanks for sharing 💟
Beautiful work rehabilitating this two draw chest. The silver leafing and transfers were expertly applied and it is clear you know what your are doing...except for the tattoos. My daughter has often said her greatest regret in life was getting tatooed.
Thank you for the compliment on my work. Maybe your daughter didn't get tats for the right reason? 🤔 I am over 40 yrs old and love mine and keep getting more. Also one of my best friends is my tat artist so I probably won't stop anytime soon.
@@SabsRehabs She got the tattoos for the wrong reason...peer pressure. Ah, but all is not lost. She went to a tattoo removal doctor and had many removed on her legs and arms. The doctor had a trainee do the work with a laser and the result was two-fold: severe burns and a lawsuit now pending in superior court, county of Los Angeles. Three years of litigation that will eventually be settled but the scarring will always remain. My daughter understands German and quite by accident she heard passersby comment on her appearance (maybe tourists, LA is full of them) by using the word "scheuBlich" or "scheusslich" meaning hideous or frightful. This sent her to the remover.
This is quite the transformation! That chest looked like it had a hard life. I really like the colors that you chose and that paper is beautiful. The silver leaf was just the extra touch it needed. Great job! 🙂👍
