I am a Sikh born and lived in India and here are my observations.
1. People of India view Sikhs in the highest light and get the utmost respect.
2. Sikhs have special rules for Motor vehicles and are allowed to wear a turban on Motorcycles. No other community is allowed.
3. Sikhs are allowed to carry weapons. ( A kirpan). No other community is allowed.
4. The PM Narendra Modi dresses up as a Sikh as he is proud of the culture and the history.
