I mean they still killed thousands of people, made Paradise lose massive amounts of land, created a refugee crisis and wiped out almost the entire Survey Corps.
@@AgieSebie Marely did take out alot of paradis army but it still didn't take out their morale, and due to their training against the titans they used it to their enemies which makes them actually dangerous to fight even in small forces
@@AgieSebie True. But by losing valuable Titan assets it made Marley weaker in a military sense. And it was because of the failed operation to retake the Founding that led to Marley's neighbouring countries to go to war against them. Which during the time Marley was at war, Paradis used that time to strengthen their military and gain some Marleyan defectors.

@@runtergerutscht4401 we do know for sure. Ksavier was the only exception as he was a scientist who was tasked with using his titan to research titan science instead of going out into the battlefield, therefore he didn’t need to be brainwashed to ‘fight for the country’
No, as far as we know, they chose childs because of the curse of Ymir, which basically says that you cannot hold your powers for longer than 13 years. So if they take 12-14 years old children, when they get to master their powers they'll be in their prime at around 20-22 years old. Giving the power to someone 25 years old would be kind of bad because at the end of his titan career, they would be 38, not so good for a soldier that has to be in action on the field.

Remember they still regenerate so injury isn't an issue, so what difference does it make?
@@likklebattyman5677 I don't know, colt seems a little older to get his titan since most of this generation titans were about 12/13 when they got theirs and Colt is closer to 16/17.. but maybe being younger has something to do with it because that is true, kids are easier to manipulate as they are younger .. as for Ksavier, he is the only KNOWN exception so we cannot say for sure if he is the ONLY exception (unless the author says so himself of course)

Bertholdt is very precise and careful when using his abilities, this is known especially because he’s the best marksman out of the warriors.
He’s also the least likely to use the power against them, because obviously Marley can’t lose the god of destruction.
And also, he’s the one least likely to have a mental strain because of his abilities, especially one as dangerous as the Colossal. Well yes he suffers too, but when he was a trainee inside the Walls, his classmates said that he handles it better and possibly doesn’t even show remorse.
Oh and yeah, he’s kinda tall too.
That thing is huge, so maybe having a low center of gravity is also a requirement. Otherwise, leaning a little too far in one direction would topple it.

Even though they are from two different worlds, the Eldians and Marleyans call the titans by the exact same names (e.g. armored titan, colossal titan)
Because Marley is controlled by the Eldian Family that has the War Hammer Titan. All their Knowledge comes from them.

Armored will always be a phisically strong and straight foward person (Reiner)
Colossal will always be a more pacifist person that will use only when it has to (Berthold, Armin)
Beast will be a high intelect person (Zeke)
Jaw will be a person that's willing to sacrifice themselves for others (Marcel, Ymir and Galliard)
War Hammer is unkown to me since Lara never said much
Cart will be a chill and calm person that can be able to be a long time inside the titan (Pieck)
Finally the Attack Titan, ''No matter the era, this titan kept moving foward, seeking for freedom''

No where was it ever mentioned that the female titan has to fall to the hands of a woman .
Titan powers have absolutely 0 bearing on the shifters gender , we saw this with Ymir , Piek and Mrs Tybur, all of whom were females who were given " male " bodied titan forms with no problems, also the armored titan, the most Masculine looking of all the titans was initially planned to be given to Gabbi .
With all of that in mind, we have no reason to assume that only females could utilize the Female titan , if a Male were to be given the female titan the most likely outcome is that it will be a reverse Piek situation where the titan would be a female but the user would be a male .
The reason I feel Annie was chosen was because the female titan ( even the Jaw titan could be used for disruption instead of just all out attacking ) is a titan purely for combat purposes with little supportive utility which means that the person using it have to be the most skilled conlmbatant of the group, that ended up being Annie who was trained in martial arts by her dad since she was a toddler , the only other mostly offensive Titan is the Jaw but between the two the Female has the more destructive capabilities and since Annie was a better fighter than Marcel , the female titan naturally went to her

in the Attack on Titan book I'm writing now, the colossal titan needs a user with a strong mind. This titan needs someone who can control his mind very well so that his emotions don't overwhelm him and he loses control, because the titan's body synchronizes with his mind and if his mind is stressed or he lets his emotions to control him, the titan it may not form completely or remain paralyzed in place no matter how the possessor tries to move. That's why they decided to give it to someone like Bertholdt because he is the most mature of them all and very rarely lets his emotions cloud his judgment. even when he did it and was extremely nervous in Shingashina he still had a clear goal and knew what he wanted to fight for and that's why he was able to transform. This is also the case that Armin seemed so desensitized when he used the power of the Colossal titan because he knew that he had to be calm and calculated if he wanted to be able to use such a Colossal power.

Para todos los que hablan sobre por que berthold no uso en el primer capitulo el poder nuclear, aquí escribo las razones por las que creo que no usó este poder:
1- Puede que el fundador se encontrase dentro de los muros ( Que de hecho así era), su misión era recuperarlo no matarlo, puesto que si lo matan se acabó la misión, la idea de meter titanes puros que causen revuelo e infiltrarte es mucho mejor.
2- La coartada de sobrevivir a una explosión nuclear es peor que la de haber huido de titanes puros que querían comerte. Si él hubiera usado todo su poder en Shinganshina quizás la hubiera destruido completamente.
3- No sabemos hasta que punto conocían a los titanes colosales dentro de los muros, quizás no quería destruir dichos muros a propósito.
4- Él sabía que no podía utilizar su titán mucho tiempo, necesitaba que Reiner estuviera cerca, si creas una explosión nuclear podrías matar a tus compañeros
it's kinda crazy that Eren and his friends took them down one by one so easily , if Mahr was a bit more coordinated and attack together with all the titans controlled by Zeke , with the shifters , with the Mahr army and maybe some allies , Eren and Eldians would probably get exterminated so hard
Fortunately it was less a united effort of humanity and more one country's desperate bid for control over the rest of the world brought on by fear of becoming obsolete because of reliance of flesh mechs.
That wouldn't have been possible, Marley didn't want an all out war with Paradis, the rumbling it's basically like the nuclear deterrent in real life, so they went to steal the founding titan instead.

Colossal Titan in Season 1: Appears instantly without a gust of wind
Colossal Titan in Season 4: Nuke.
Then in my own understanding of the abilities(anime watcher)
Warhammer: ability to control its hardening at will, enabling the user to literally create their titan outside of their body, and controlling it as a puppet. Can also generate any kind of weapon, just like controlling a hardening.
Founding Titan: Could control any titan and the subjects of Ymir. Could also erase memories of said subjects. Could make said subjects into pure titans at will, making the walls of Paradis into a wall of titans.
Lastly, Attack Titan: Even with its name being called "attack" Its only ability is to see the future's inhabitants of the attack titan's memories.
Correct me if I'm wrong tho. Again, Anime Watcher only. Manga spoilers are not allowed, please.
Founding titan has flaws though
1,) you need to be royal blood to activate it
2.) it is hindered by the Vow to Renounce war making it follow the original person that placed the vow (only affected those of royal descent, zeke would have fallen to this too)
3.) if you aren't a royal descendent you can use the powers, only if you meet someone willing to activate it with you
Attack Titan can only see memories of past and future holders of that titan form, no one elses unless he eats them which then would be able to send memories back to those shifters
Attack titan has more power than only the future sightseeing. Attack titan is more or less like Female Titan. It's versatile and a jack-of-all trades.
Eren's attack titan is stronger than female titan in raw strength, more endurance than most of the titans except for cart and maybe armor, more agile than female and beast titan. If it has hardening, the hardening is stronger than the armor titan. The "Attack" tile of the attack titan means that the Attack titan will go forward and fight for their needs even after they're dead
The future inheritance titan name is actually not the 'attack titan' the title series shingeki no kyojin is named after that titan however when you translate it back onto English it is 'advancing titan'
It just occurred to me that the Marleyans don't recognise Eren as the attack titan, but rather as the founding titan.
Moreso nobody except Zeke (who was shown) and the attack titan shifter know the abilities of the Attack titan.
Man, kinda cool how they manage to use the powers of the 9 into modern warfare.

I love how both Bertholdt and Reiner have Titans that are complete inverses of their personality. Bertholdt holds the most powerful, destructive weapon in his hands, while being a timid, calm and shy individual.
Reiner wears a suit of armour that will protect him from anything, when he really just wants to die. Also the fact that he was initially pretty weak.

they probably choose him because he was chill af, so not raging around like Eren and Falco when they first transformed. Imagine a senseless raging colossal titan. Also he was pretty easy to manipulate / control so it´s more unlikely he would turn on marley

So the colossal just fucking blows everything up the second it transforms? How come that never happened whenever it showed up in season 1? That's what was so devastating about it in season 1 was that it was this massive monster that could just pop out of nowhere at any instant...
I personally feel like Piek should have gotten the colossal titan while Bertholt the cart .
The colosaal totan with its size and mini nuclear bomb like explosion and steam emission is easily the most powerful of all the titan shifter, however it is also teh most diffciult to utilize : extremely slow making long distance movement impossible that coupled with the fact that the user can only transform once a day , makes this a titan that you actively have to commit to ,you need to be 100% certain that transforming in a specific spot is the most advantageous decision , theres also the problem that this is the titan with the least longevity which makes its commitment problems even more apparent .
All of this makes me feel like the colossal should end up with the most intelligent person of the group capable lf adapting to most given situations and that description applies to Piek way better than bertholdt , eveb if she wasnt a great fighter ( in fact she seems to be physically the weakest of the warriors ) the colossal titan doesnt really necessitate much if any combat lnowledge from its host, its slow movement wouldnt allow for much combat anyways and its great size compensates for low combat proficiency.
While i do understand the logic of given it to Bertholdt who is cowardly which makes him very wary of his Explosion transformation and more likely to properly ustilize it , Bertholdts weak will will also make him the least likely candidate to defect from Marley and taking away the colossal titan who is their most valuable asset ( especially with the creeling obsolescence of the titan powers making the colossal titan and even more valuable asset as it essentially works like a small scale nuclear explosion ), however with all that i feel like Bertholdts reserved and quite personality lends itself way better for a supportive background role , his cowardly and alert nature also synergizes well with teh cart titans " Panzer " armor as he can stay far away and allow the snipers on his back to get to work.
i feel like bertholt would get anxious if he has to be stuck in a titan body for days or even months
so basically give it to someone who’s so chill like pieck is a great choice

This part always raises a question in my mind: How come both Marleyen's and Eldian's named all the intelligent Titan similarly.
Like Eldian never knew about Colossal, Armoured and Female Titan during the beginning of the show. Yet they named them exactly what Marleyen's called them.
Realistically Colossal and Armoured were named focusing on their respective unique feature. But in the case of the Female Titan there where other unique features apart from the fact that well it's female
Ironically, I feel bad for Marleyan Government, they thought that they had the upper hand however who would have thought Hitler with Attack Titan existed.
