I just want to add for my fellow multiplayer guys out there: only 1 person needs to buy the DLC and your friends can still play with you, but they can't use the new items or unlock the class. I think this is a great system that doesn't divide friends up if someone doesn't want to spend the $10, they can keep playing together and see all the content.
Similar concept as Vermintide 2, great for playing with friends who are not so invested in the game
Good to see some games doing that. Back 4 Blood did that too I think.

More Remnant 2 and the inevitable major updates and dlc are never a bad thing. I'm looking forward to actively getting into the game heavier.
Something to note, if you have the ultimate edition the DLC is just there for your taking

Yea recently went and compared how many reviews he had out this year and the games I have been completing as well.
I have 36 so far and he has around 48...The difference being that most of the games I finished were sub 20 Hour games while his...
Well they are all almost 20+ if not around 50 hour and up for most of the RPGs.

I am pleased to see a bit sized update like this. A few new mob types a few new mini bosses and a cool new main boss along with (from my understanding) dozens of new items and secrets is terrific for the price of an average cosmetic in a live service game.
I really like the increase of content for losomn and for how cheap it is its awsome stuff. I think its not a giant DLC just a bit of extra content. While I would love if they added more entire worlds I think that will take a bit more time than just 4 months after release.
Since they Confirmed 3 Dlcs packs, i think all of them are going to be like this, extensions of yaesha and nerud, with new weapons amor and archetypes. since the Season Pass costs $25 i can only assume thats gonna mean each one is going to cost $10 a pop. Now it would be cool if they do a new world entirely but, id almost rather they just have a new game, this one had 3 worlds 2 rolls a piece, so a new world at this point needs at least 2 variations on precedent alone, and then at that point its like, well instead of charging $20 for a dlc lets keep it going and do a whole new game.
This game has been one of my biggest and best surprise of 2023 and I'm super happy to get back to it with this DLC. I can't wait for the remaining 2
I'm glad they are wrapping up the storyline. But just like you, a little disappointed it's not a brand new area with new enemies like in the first game DLC.
I'm sure it's on their to do list. 2 more dlc scheduled for next year. I didn't realize how recent this game came out. I thought it was a year old... 😅
5:59 Solid point. DLC is usually more of the same, so if you like the base game, then DLC is the way to go, but DLC by itself won't change that. Onward to 300k. All glory to the algorithm.
This looks cool for a first DLC, I definitely hope the future DLCs add some new unique areas though!
I wondered whether the remaining DLCs may follow suit in simply expanding the existing 3 biomes that you can already reroll in the base game, rather than go to new areas entirely. Since otherwise it's interesting that they chose to do another Losomn biome first. But there could be many other reasons why in the mix I suppose.
@@TBelen91 i definitely assume thats what their doing. 3 dlcs confirmed, $25 season pass, $10 per dlc price tag. their gonna give us more content to enjoy the game witha small team im sure and are more than likely using new worlds for a new game. It doesnt make much sense to me to add a new world into it, where as new rolls seems like the most sense. now someone who buys a definitive addition in a year or two will have 3 rolls per region. This will be seen as a major bang for buck content mine lol then they doa new game that has 4 or more worlds to expand uipon etc etc

Sounds like it's essentially cut content sold as DLC. At least it's cheap I guess.
Very decent pricing for a new class, itens, weapons and a biome variation. Cheaper than a skin in some games.

Mort sounds happy for some reason, like he got pep in his step after listening to Ice Cube's "Today was a good day". Maybe because the DLC was short lol
I feel like people want content for their game way too fast... this leads to this small DLC ! I'm not happy at all with it because there were so much more to do... Like making the labyrinth a randomly generated area or the root earth... Also, all the area of the first game should make a come back with new stories, bosses and such ! It takes time? So be it ! At least it will be quality content rather than going back to the game for 5 hours times 2 or 3 then not feeling fully satisfied and still hearing people complain about the lack of the content of the game in a month or so.
The new class looks really cool but I hope the next DLC part of the season pass will include one which does transform and use the root more.
All in all, it's not that it's bad, TBH, I'm still happy about it but I wanted more to have a better reason to go back to the game.
Remnant 2 was cool I was surprised when I got to the final boss though as I dunno was expecting a bit more of a build up before that

Since N'Erude always flies into the black whole, there should be nothing left to add to that horrible place. I hope they bring back Rhom or Corsus instead.
The $9.99 price point for a new class + area is what we should be praising at this point. $9.99 doesn't even get you a cosmetic skin in most games, so I think giving the devs some plus points here is in order here. @Mortismal, first off love your content. Second, you said you this is "about what you were willing to pay" - I'd be curious to hear what you think the ideal pricing is. Free is always better than a price tag, but I feel like this is more than fair.

How was the ingame performance in the new areas?
I’m on series S and crashing a lot when opening map/inventory. It’s bad rn
I had one hard crash on PC and one instance of severe, extended frame drop moment when my buddy used the Whirlwind ability on the spectral sword or whatever it's called in a room that was stuffed with loads of destructable environmental items, which the game really seems to struggle to handle in general.

I'm on ps5 haven't had any crashes just a bug on the menu that's for whatever reason chooses to attempt to consume an item when I am trying to check my rings/amulets.
I’m on series S, still getting crashes in dlc, seems to be everytime I open my map, or when in multiplayer, if your anywhere near or start the fight with the one guy giving a speech.
I was really hoping that each dlc would be a new word or at least a continuation of the main story. I don't think a "Swamps of Corus" style DLC is good enough anymore. Was hoping for something more in the vein of Subject 2923
Pretty good DLC for the price, I do feel like this DLC was definitely cut content they just couldn’t finish up before the main game launched in time.
I started this game trying to understand the story, but very quickly went "Ah screw it; I'm here to kill monsters." No clue what is happening in any of the maps.

This game needs a horde mode for sure, raids and worlds first races....that would add some longevity

Not every game is meant to have longevity. Sometimes you just finish the game, feel accomplished, and move on

@@KaleRylan Hollow Knight has features like this in their pantheon i dont see why their couldnt be a boss rush mode or arena mode, its a game thats meant to be played multiple times, so it doesnt really seem off base to have something like that.
If I buy the standard edition of this game and I buy the season pass, do I get ALL dlc released in ps store? Or will I miss something that’s in ultimate edition?

It's more Remnant, more rings, what's not to like? Even though Losomn is my favorite area I do find it odd they didn't add a new planet and especially why we have any business with the Fay and Dran in the first place since the Root has no presence here.
I could have sworn I read that the root corrupted the king while he was sleeping and that’s part of why he came back and started massacring everyone. An assassination attempt is one thing but he literally was stringing up dead bodies as ornaments
Yeah i do like open ended stories, i would much prefer new worlds or returning ones like rhom or corsus. I will still play the dlc thou.
I hope the rest of the dlc don’t follow the same template of simply extending existing worlds. I really wanna see new places.

That’s such a good price for what they give but I’m really tired of looter shooters
3 to 5 hours ? >< It took me nearly 9 on Veteran to do the one shot.
Took me a bit less than 4 on veteran, build and your own pace will have a lot to do with it
How is the performance on PC now?
If I remember correctly, I had 30-40 FPS at launch at max detail, 2k resolution with a 6900xt (no fsr)
Launching the game yesterday, the FPS was averaging 70-80 in the hub.
IF my memory is good, they've optimized it a fair bit.

One new class and a variant of one of the existing worlds? That's disappointing. I'll wait for all the dlc to come out and buy it at a healthy discount.
It’s 10 dollars, don’t be cheap, it supports the devs.
And don’t exclude yourself from new things, it’s better to experience it yourself blind, than 2 years from now after knowing every nook and cranny of the dlc’s.
Obviously your choice, but you’re hurting your experience waiting purposely than just enjoying it with the community.

Did they fix the performance issues of this game ? Cause no way I'm dropping money on DLC if they didn't bother to optimize in post-launch patches.
You absolutely should check patch notes and check the work the devs have been putting into this game post launch. Like, now. They are dev or the year in my book.

My only complaint is how horribly disappointing the one true king’s boss fight was, did it first try, didn’t need to learn his move set; which turns out to be like 2 possible attacks, just reaction dodged everything and bam he’s dead. I was thinking oh this dude definitely has a second phase with how easy he is, then he hit zero and I got loot, and I thought really that’s it?
I wasn’t expecting Malenia, hammer of the true king, but Venom is a harder boss fight, and this dude is apparently a god.
Maybe it was supposed to be more of a spectacle fight? It definitely looked cool. I don’t think we have much of those in the base game either. It is a weird choice for a world boss
