this game was way ahead of its time. shame we didnt get games from the super exciting 2007/2008 seasons
2006-2009 was the period of F1 when I loved it the most. Sadly, it's very difficult to "relive" this period when only the 2006 season has a proper product linked to it. Still remember playing this game in the electronic stores when the PS3 was still new. It was one of the best games at the time used to promote the new graphics possibilities of the PS3.

When you compare this game to F1 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, then this game looks like a next-gen game.
Also the music, menu's, game modes, AI aggression, damage and gameplay of this game make's this probably until now the best F1 game so far
+The RammsteinGod I agree, this game looks as good as the new F1 games and everything about it is better. I wish Studio Liverpool still made F1 :(
+1 Codemasters are great at making racing games but from my view... they should better stick to Dirt and GRID. Love both series but yeah, i would love seeing a new F1 game made by Liverpool studios. Tbh, this year if i recall, Codemasters contract with the F1 expires so, maybe next year we get a new software house... we shall see
Literally the only criticism I have of this game is that it's too easy to lose the rear end on turn-in as you let off the brakes. And the PS3 version has no local multiplayer. Aside from that, perfect.
Yeah, very agressive AI even in practice or qualifying in carreer mode they bump you and make you lose the rear end, well... At least me >:(

Back when Alonso was at Renault, Schumacher was at Ferrari, Honda, BMW and Toyota were constructors and of course, when Yuji Ide was racing for Super Aguri
If reports are to be believed then Alonso might very well be back with Renault tomorrow!

@@asurada999 Technically they aren't. F1 CE has a totally different physics system and all cars and tracks have been redone from the ground up. 2 totally different games but they just share the same menus and music.

I regret it selling this game. Many years later I would like to play it again. Back in the day when there were barely digital copies of a game. This game was only available at retail.
Buzz I used to play this game when I was 6-7 years old but while moving to an other house it somehow got lost now I am 19 and 2-3 months ago I found a cd version on sale and immediately bought it and now when I play the game gives me pure nostalgia feelings

The only thing keeping me from playing it today is the career mode sucked because there was no performance changes, or even driver changes
@@aerospaceracecraft8954 yes but i think career mode at this game is still bether than F1 2020 game. Carrer mode in F1 2020 is unrealistic because AI is unbalanced and AI don't make any mistakes in race. It's annoying.

Also first year with all V8 (except Toro Rosso) in F1, the only one year unlimited unfortunately 😢

Do you have the PC version? If so, you can technically do it. There's a guide on RaceDepartment that shows you how to swop out the menu music. You only get to use 3 though.
Joguei mt na minha adolescência, e pude acompanhar logo quando lançou, na epoca de Lan house,povo so queria jogar , GTA SA, RE4 , e eu na maquina do fundo jogando essa maravilha de jogo, inclusive atualmente no meus 32 anos de idade ainda ligo meu PS2 pra reviver essa nostalgia que eu tinha quando adolescente
Remember playing this as the first game on the PS3. The crash psychics were good for a game at the time.
Ngl I loved playing this game 4/5 yrs ago, the fact that you could change the grid and there was live commentary and a tv mode on a 16 yr old game is amazing. The only thing I didn’t like was the language select screen when you boot the game up as I was (and still) petrified that I’d choose the wrong language (that happens to me once when I put a dvd on and did exactly that when I was 5ish and I still am scared of it 8yrs later) (oh yeah and I have autism)

This game's soundtrack has actually stood the test of time tremendously well despite it having only 2 tracks, probably in my top 3 favorite F1 soundtracks since the PS3 gen. I wish I could say the same about the game itself...
I mean it also has Jagger '67 as the intro song, so technically all the songs in the game are 3, and they are great
The graphics are great, but the "handling" is awful. Either 100% understeer, or the exact same 180° spin to reverse at 120mph in every turn. The setup options don't seem to do anything.
If only Formula One had a game that combined the tracks, seasons, and cars from all across F1. So there could be a career mode where you choose what year you start in, and the cars, drivers, teams, and season calendars all change as you play, therefore making each career mode playthrough unique.

Ik its late but, Toyota created their own Racing facility Called Gazoo Racing Toyota, they are currently on LMP1 And other endourance categories, i dunno if they have any funding to get to F1.
But if they do, Boy it'll be nice!

I think it's based on 2006 F1 game that came out for PS2 and PSP. I am not sure if its a remake.
both games are based on the 2006 seasons but CE was rebuilt (I believe) to take advantage for the new hardware at the time on PS3.
