Love this song, John. Brings back memories of us five girls after work, going on a beach side vacation. Fishing, perving and the pub scene. . We had a bloody ball. . We even cut a bill, so we could make our jigsaw puzzle to connect again, with the fabulous people we met on our long weekend. A brilliant weekend, had by all. This song reminds me why music is the universal language. It ties us all together and shows us that no matter who you are/where you are/what you are…sometimes love don’t feel like it should. We’re all more alike than we think/would like to admit. Peace and love 💙
When I used to hear people talking about John Mellencamp, I used to think they were talking about an old 1950s singer. Hadn't realised I had been rocking out to his songs for years lol
John Mellencamp has 3 number 1 hit song and they are: 1). Hurts So Good in the week of October 2, 1982, 2). Jack & Diane in the week of October 23 & 30, 1982 for two weeks, and 3). Rocking In The USA (Salute of 1960s) in April 6, 1986.
in which country? Hurts So Good was definitely NOT #1 in the USA in October of '82, it peaked in the spring/early summer... As a younger member of the rock community I would just like to say thank you for making this legendary music🙏🎸
My dad's favorite John song I lost him July 29th Rock it out in heaven Papa I love you Hoss
I grew up with my uncle Danny and I dancing every time this played. I have Cerebral Palsy and I'm in a wheelchair ♿ and now I'm still rocking my bed or wheelchair dancing every time this plays.
Thanks for the love and support, it’s nice seeing you here
One of the all time great pop-rock songs. Just classic manly, expression and fun hook you in chorus. Love john and his slightly rough edgy voice. What a great singer!
I always liked him and thought of him as the Midwest Bruce Springsteen....lol 😊
not in Muslim countries and Indian culture, they marry girls 12 years old. Mohamad married a 9 year old girl. A different time and it was sanctified by God. Now a days we are governed by modern day law. Back then and today in some cultures, when a female is at the age of menstruating, they can marry as a woman's role in life is to give birth to children, and that is the bottom line. Not about sex with young girls. it's about a man making a female have babies as it written by God.
Gosh, my brother and I wore this out in the jukebox back in the early 80s! One of the best songs ever!!! Hey John, my favorite 80s song is Jack and Diane.....still to this day....thanks for your music sir !!!!
Your's are beautiful as you look, Thank's for your sincere compliment, I would always give appreciation to my dedicated fan like you

A great song for writing or working out by. Love this song. Singing it kept me awake on many long drives to and from college late at night as I went to college 6 hours away from home.

This song 🎵 reminds me of my younger years when I was just young, wild and free and partying and just doing whatever I wanted to do.

❤O sweet Lord! Vocal powerhouse John gave an electrifying, nerve shattering once in a lifetime performance.❤🇺🇸🎸
I've finally found this song! Been looking for it a long time
Just fantastic. Some days, I just go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and find myself here 😊
Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles brought me here.
"Hurts So Good"
Hasn't aged well...
@@stevez.6805this is the second time I read this.
Why do you say that?
I remember watching this as a young teen in early 80's on MTV. Brings back memories. Such a great performer, wish i seen Melencamp back in concert years ago.
Nothing like the 60's 70's and 80's. Best music 🎶

Music today sucks
I remember a time when they used to say ....... there are no stupid questions
Well.. this here is a stupid question
LOL
I'm 80 years old and 80s music still gets me dancing.❤
This song gives me chills and it's even better now than when I was watching it as a 12-year-old on MTV. Today's pop music pales in comparison.
There's a whole mess of 80's Music I can keep thinking of . in the air tonight Phil Collins
Jack N Diane John Cougar
Time for me to Fly Reo
Eye of the Tiger 🐅 Survived I think

While I wasn’t born in the 80’s I can tell you that this is a certified banger
100% American Rock'n Roll, my young friend.
John cougar was the sheeeeit. You have no idea.
So is Jack and Diane
because you were born when you were born, enjoy the times you have the go by so swiftly. In other words, live in the moment and enjoy every moment
@@misterdudeable thanks for the advice,I can tell you are wise
I remember going to the Arcade, hanging out, passing for 16 at 11 years old, I played this, for a quarter, God, it was exciting😊
He’ll yeah graduated in 1984 . 55 now but when I hear these songs I’m 18 again.
Im from Southamerica and live in Southamerica ,I earned in school my cents to run and by this single. Just to see how far and present are this great singers all over the world
This song reminds me why music is the universal language. It ties us all together and shows us that no matter who you are/where you are/what you are…sometimes love don’t feel like it should.
We’re all more alike than we think/would like to admit.
Peace and love 💙
I have no doubts nor suspicions that the 1980s decade was the coolest era of the XXth Century.
2:07 That bit when the Hammond organ breaks through... Been listening to this song since I was a kid and that part still hurts so good
Great song off a great album 1982 10th grade in high school.
When I used to hear people talking about John Mellencamp, I used to think they were talking about an old 1950s singer. Hadn't realised I had been rocking out to his songs for years lol
+jessjess WHERE U BEEN UNDER A ROCK???
Nope born in the 90s...grew up with the BSB and N'Sync

I am 34 years old and I know real rock music because this is a melody to my ears
I remember my dad would blast this in the car whilst taking me to school in the mornings 😂 we'd be singing and laughing like we wrote it lol
Yup same, mostly after school when my dad picked me up though. Also we have the same name lol
I did the same to my boy. He'd say mom u so crazy. Lol. Good music gets played like it should!
#rocknrollneverdies
Me too! I miss those days more than anything :(
My mom did too 🤣
Take me with you
ANOTHER TIMELESS CLASSIC! 80"S MUSIC RULES!! the dj
Thank you! I always knew this song ruled. Nice to know it ruled the charts, too.
in which country? Hurts So Good was definitely NOT #1 in the USA in October of '82, it peaked in the spring/early summer... I'd be honored if some Cougar Mellencamp/80s fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of JACK & DIANE and SOMEBODY'S BABY by Jackson Browne on my YT channel in tribute to the great musical summer of 1982. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital enhancements. Thanks and keep on rocking.
When I woke up this morning, on a Sunday morning. Somehow this song came on my head so I thought I'd watch the music video. Memories. Haha
When we wakeup from sleeping or any time a song in our head it's playing on radio station somewhere lol
Kammy Snyder - haha most of the time that has happend to me but this time it really was just in my head when I woke up. It could be that I have dreamed the song in a background. I don't remember the dream anymore.
It's 4a.m. on a Sunday morning and I thought of this song ... and now I'm here. :D
'Sink your teeth right through my bones lets see what we can do.'
At least the time-machine that we have is listening to this music.
I can't turn it up loud enough!
저는 58세입니다 이 노래를 들으면 가슴이 끓어오릅니다 저의 젊음시절로 돌아가고 싶네요
