I found the only real way to counter them: 1. Create your own multiplayer map. 2. Change it to singeplayer map. 3. Disable catapults in avaliable buildings menu. 4. Change map back to multiplayer. 5. Done, you don`t need to counter catapults if your enemy can`t build them.
You can actually counter them, but only on the defensive: Abuse 1 by 1 stack-building trebuchets right behind your walls, they vastly outrange catapults and destroy them before they get in range. If your opponent starts dancing with their catapults, send knights to destroy them, forcing him to do an impossible decision of letting them stand still to shoot the knights and be hit by the trebuchets, or keep dancing and get destroyed by your knights.
I swear countering them is easy, 2 units, tower balistas and horse archers, tower balistas snipes them while you send a group of horse archers to pick off the catapults
answer is get better economy and build more of them xD but i really loved quote from Gwent the witcher card game: gods are on side of those whos got better catapults
i just finished an online game in de. i lost because of the catapults , i was searching youtube to find what i did wrong ... seems like i didn't do wrong it was the catapult itself
Those are both not good options though despite being the only ones. You'd have to have a big enough army on standby specifically for those Catapults to begin with. Which is additional micromanagement that takes away from building up your defenses. On top of that massive army of Catapults is going to have an even bigger army of Archers, Shields, and Melee Units backing them up. So whenever you send your Melee out to try and blitz the catapults. They are guaranteed to be wiped out by the opposing force. Meaning that you will need to set them up again afterwards even if they succeed in their goal. The Knights have the best chance of pulling it off though Maceman have no chance at all even with Portable Shields. As the Maceman do not have the armor to survive the Archers and Melee units.
Build... 0# ... Unused farms outside the castle, you can burn down with pitch; 1# use a lot of arabian archers {best}, with groups, scattered around a long wall; 2# some fire balistae in advance; 3# have trebuchets, protected by walls; 4# use horse mounted knights 5# use mace men or hallebardiers: 6# use your own mangonels, with a hight or moat advantage to accompany unit 1# 'till #5
Lol looked this up after seeing you place Catapults in S Tier rather than S+ I tried thinking of ways to counter them myself and pretty much came up with nothing. I think Catapults are undeniably S+ They completely negate any and all possibilities of turtling. While also being able to OBLITERATE marching armies on defense. The only thing that they can't destroy or kill are moats and some traps.
So basically the solution is to use catapults yourself :D If the enemy uses, you should too. Nice conclusion, there ain't worth the energy to counter catapult coz it's not really possible indeed :P
Fire arrows literally do nothing whatsoever, archers can't stand on top of siege towers without it attaching to a wall first, turning immobile, and siege towers as well as archers all get one-shot killed by catapults, considerably outranged, and deal little damage to catapults.
i'm talking about the siege towers (thin ones) with the fire thing on it and arab archers for incoming catapults. Really changes the game in your favour
@@zaidyounas1602 again, there is no difference whatsoever between fire arrows and regular arrows in terms of damage dealt to any hostile unit. So, no, braziers and fire arrow will change nothing in your favour. Also, catapults outrange archers so archers on any tower (wooden siege tower as well as regular stationary stone towers) can't really do anything against well-managed catapults. And if you mean the tall, thin watchtower with "thin siege tower", that one gets absolutely destroyed by catapults, it is by far the least-durable tower, and thus the worst for defending against catapults.
I found out that mangonel actually pretty good job taking down against mass catapult for defensive choice only also is really good against Shield and horse archer too
@@Jefflenious Unless you're doing an online match or Stronghold Extreme, the odds of fighting mass catapults is super low. I'm safely gonna say most people play the single player AI experience.
I’ve got the best guide, if you see your opponent with catapults, simply close your computer and walk away.

How to counter catapults?
Step 1: you can't
End of the video

Thanks for the valuable information! I will be sure to put these tips into my next playthrough!😀
Wait I thought catapult was the counter unit for catapult???
Edit: Arrived at step 3, am satisfied
I would use assasins because if they are close enough the catapults can Hit themselves
Well the way to counter catapults is by not letting your opponent build them. If they’re spamming them, you should be building an army.
Step 1: Build a big Castle and never go outside
Step 2: ???
Step 3: You defeated the catapults
with the best regards, not a literal Cataput
assasins tower balistas and knights that are made to deal with catapults: we are joke to you?
yeah you could trick your opponent all sun tsu style with horseman as i like to do or use spearman idk

The best way to defeat them is by assassin
fight fire with fire they said.
Are those catapults??? I was thinking they are modern granade luncer

Knights can dodge somewhat well, I think they are the best option, maybe macemen too cause they are fast.
Those are both not good options though despite being the only ones.

If they only have catapults, sending a dozen separate groups of slaves or horse archers might do the trick.
tower ballista is the only way
Send out any fast unit to destroy them lol
How to counter catapults ?
Make even more catapults .......
I know you don't like it, but someone has to make a meme about spamming fire lancer-siege towers in warlords...
Actually the lord can barely manage to kill catapults xd

uhm...watertrenches?
For real
tower balistas could do the trick, however, I fell 100 catapults would win against 100 tower balistae.
What about slaves or spearmen(fast and expendable)
The archers behind catapults would be very happy about that haha.
play on a map without stone and tradepost
wait ppl still play this game?
Simple disconnect. Come back when you can give reasonable reason.

knights are wffective against catapults 100 knights can do the job done 😃
and how will they get the job done after being one-shot killed by the first salvo of rocks?
Assassins can get close tho
