I just managed to locate an on-line dealer that had this same color and model in stock. So I just made the purchase a few minutes ago. YAY!! I honestly thought that I wouldn't find any in stock just yet. "Knock on wood" I guess. I had a he'll of a time locating a Microtech Glykon for my collection. That one took about 2 weeks before I could find any dealers that had them in stock. I thought I would have to take a flight out to Blade Show East to get one from Tony at Microtech LOL!!

Look, if it wasn't for you passing that important piece of information about the slight re-design of the added safety feature that Reate Knives added to their production karambit. It was going to be a hard NO on me purchasing there karambit. Safety first. Or ,suffer getting more karambit "bites" LOL!! So, Reate Knives should be happy that you gave an excellent and detailed review of there karambit. Thank you Miss Miller...

Hey Milissa,I've told others this and they look at me like a cow looking at a new gate...but in my knife flipping I have found that a balisong with the lock on the back side, dull side of a single edged balisong allows for a gravity/quick flick move that deploys the knife much quicker and allows for a downward strike motion immediately, however hardly anyone makes them this way.just an observation and maybe You could address why most of them are made this way..oh and the point is deploying this way will keep Your hand safe from nicks everytime ..thank You so much for such a nice channel..

On 1 of your shorts you showed a knife w the wave. I used to carry a balisong but it's hard to keep it 'easy access'. Plus, it's hard to keep track of where it is illegal to carry one. That's so interesting, here I was actively trying to disengage the button lock and it was still holding for me as long as I kept pressure on the grip. I did not test on foam or anything that would provide more resistance. That all being said, wouldn't recommend this as a self-defense blade as I think we can all agree we prefer fixed ha. Was thinking throughout the video, when you addressed the question in my head, around 7:30 - What do you recommend to use for lubricating every moving part on knives? Or can we simply use something like WD-40 Dry Lube?
Appreciated the 'long' video, as it explained a LOT about the product we otherwise would have had to research on our own. And it was ESPECIALLY helpful that you included the product specifications in the video description, particularly the 'handle' length... My hands are abnormally large. Sometimes any type of XXL glove is still a real PITA to get on, when they're new and most folding knives simply do not fit my hand well enough.
With that said, I'd probably buy these knives anyway - because of the deployment features, but still guess that it'll wind-up feeling like I'm playing with a 'toy', rather than a self-defense weapon. The only other things I'm wondering to address with this knife, is:
1 - Is the backside/tip of the blade sharpened and if it is not, do you think it can be?
2- Do you think this would also double as a good 'impact' weapon choice? (Using it in a closed-position to strike, rather than stab/slash...
Most of the 'cheapie' folding karambits I've gotten over the years have a ridiculously skinny handle and finger ring).
3- I think it'd be nice if the manufacturer offered a wide variety of different color handle scales you could purchase... Also - Is it possible to swap the handle scales from the trainer to the EDC?
Seeing as how this knife is ambidextrous is another great feature, which makes me think that it'd be a nice 'upgrade' consideration for the manufacturer to include a pocket tool to remove/replace both the lock button and the clip.
Blah, blah - anyway - Thank you, for sharing this content, as it actually made me interested in finally purchasing an EDC knife that costs more than 20 bucks. Ha! 👊

In Britain, we’re not allowed to carry knives which lock or are over 3” in blade length, due to all the stabbings that are going on now, which is a real shame, as over there, there are some great examples.

"Unless you have a good reason to do so." If your knife actually is a tool and you have a good reason to use that tool ("but I might need it at some point" is not a good reason according to the law) then it's perfectly legal to carry a locking knife of appropriate length.
You can't just carry them because you feel like it though. And you should be able to. Also, the restrictions on balisongs and automatic openers are just dumb. You can wander into Tesco and shoplift an 8" kitchen knife with ease, but if you even own a £500 balisong -- and don't take it out of your own house -- you're getting arrested.

Long gone are the days when you could carry a sheath knife on your belt in public, like a Scout, or someone who is simply going into the woods, or just camping. I guess the law is only there to protect people against people that simply don’t have common sense or just think they are ‘hard’, because they carry one.

I really like the content you produce. I do want to recommend you do a karambit course. Avulsion injuries are very real. the "ring" of the karambit need to be only on the first joint of the finger if not your holding your opponent's weapon for him - a finger break is the least of your worries the ring can be used to strip the skin off you finger; hence the grip need to be performed correctly.

Hey Miss backwoods, I’ve been listening to you on your TH-cam channel and I appreciate you telling the truth about all these knives and you’re not just out there selling them to make a bunch of money and I know you’d have to practice a lot with that now if you’re showing in this TH-cam video thank you so much for being truthful about everything That you are telling us about those knives. A lot of people would just say it’s a great knife by it and I appreciate you being honest and truthful. Thank you so much.

Pretty cool although the Emerson wave allows the blade to be deployed in one motion. I wouldn’t want to find and press the button in a panic situation.

YES! Yeah!!! Melissa doing a real long form video. Been a minute. Always happy to watch your videos and listen to your reviews. When I saw what you were reviewing, all I could think of was "lots and lots of band aides". I loved to see you have fun. Like a lethal fidgit spinner. Hope you keep making more videos. Glad I stayed to the end to see the blooper!

First things first! Your knife skills are really awesome specially with the butterfly! I love it! My first blade ever was a butterfly. That's twenty years ago.Meanwhile butterfly knifes are illegal in Germany. Because you can carry it concealed ! How ever! Keep on going. I really enjoying your videos!✌️

I think in a self-defense situation you would be fine as long as you did a synchronized draw with two of these😍... Just know that they will leave a brown mess on the ground before they quickly departed the encounter.

I collect Case XX knives and carry trappers, hip/belt holster- I've gotten pretty creative with the way I've cut myself... Traditionally taught- never cut towards yourself, don't use friction folders for cleaning rabbits or squirrels... They tend to close up on you doing tedious tasks that involve working the blade in directions that oppose its opening direction, etc.
I stay away from complex swingers like that... Fixed blade is the way. Strider Knives made some really great designs but I think they went out of business...
