Wow -I remember this it was kind of the OJ Simpson Trial back in the day. I was only 13 and the only thing that took it off the front page and evening news was the Kennedy assassination. Great Documentary and I love the Mick Stanhope song.

Original recording on the Danger label.---I did a web search online and found out it was featured in Billboard in 1966 "Ex-convict Jim Adams, whose sole release ("Ballad of T. Eugene") on his own label (Danger) is shocking the Twin Cities but selling well, has netted enough for a trip to Europe. The song talks bluntly about the famous T. Eugene T. Thompson murder case. My mother was friends with him when he was in prison and then when he got released. I’ve know him since I was a kid. Came to family functions all the time. Ive tried to talk to her about what happened but she says he was innocent and that’s all I need to know. He passed away 2011.

Thompson was released from prison in the 90's. He was living in a townhouse in Roseville. Don't know if he's still alive.
IIrc he was released in late 1982 due to sentencing laws in effect in 1963
