Saw all those guys at the washougal race that same year! Met my heros, Bob Hannah, Glover, Wardy, Barnett, and got to meet the legendary Danny "Mcgoo" Chandler!! What i wouldn't give to go back to that day!! A 13 year old kid, Box vans, Vaurnet's, and pit tootsies!!! Priceless!!! Oh yeah, and not a 4 stroke in sight!!! Braaaap!!!

So great, thanks for the memories.. at 0:20 is my favorite shot with Green Mtn in the background. Was a native, lived on Green Mtn (Hutchinson Homes), GMHS 1993 so I was 8 years old hitting the jumps on BMX Huffy Roadmaster (Montgomery Wards) in the gullies. Grew up riding motocross in the open space just east of that track on a 1980 YZ80.
Also thanks for the memories. I remember a wheelie that Ron Lechien rode the entire way back-up the start hill after a practice holeshot - incredible. Was also reminded of Hannah riding most of the moto with track ribbon wrapped around his back wheel...Great Stuff!
Would have been great if you had video footage of this race. Those bike sure do look great. Would have been nice to see Lechein flying. This was before he started doing drugs.
