Red Bull Sōlus, one of the most mentally and physically challenging contests in skateboarding, is back for a third year. From the mind of Ryan Sheckler, this digital skate competition challenges 17 of the top pros and amateurs to deliver their best continuous line at Sheckler’s private skatepark, the SC Sandlot. Here is Chris Colbourn’s run.
On June 6-8, each of the competing skaters were given one hour at the SC Sandlot to film their best line - no music, no other skaters, and no knowledge of who else is competing in the competition. They're just stuck with their thoughts, their time limit, and James Craig, this year's official Red Bull Sōlus timekeeper and emcee.
This competition format, combined with the new blood featured in this year’s roster, has resulted in the best Red Bull Sōlus to date.
Some people were just born to skate. Chris Colbourn (better known as “Cookie”) is one of those people. His ability to make the most difficult and creative tricks look insanely easy is just one of Cookie’s many gifts.
Cookie skates for Worble, New Balance Numeric, Independent, Spitfire, Mob, Brooklyn Projects, and Bronson.
Our judges, Vanessa Torres, Mike Sinclair, and Jason Rothmeyer, will evaluate each video based on style, progression and creativity.

I can’t believe how he can STAY that consistent after however many attempts that was. Talk about consistency and endurance while NOT compromising style at all. He’s super good!!

Smart to start off just feeling things out, warming up. Watched some of the other people go straight at the bigger stuff and get worn out faster even though they might be more athletic cookie took it easy and didn’t get stressed by the clock. You can actually have a killer session in less than an hour even if you spend the first half hour just cruising and doing little tricks

i love watching these guys and girls figure out a run in each of their own styles. they are all soooo good in they own right. it’s like they can all win because each run is a solid winning run. it’s just preference whoever you like lol 💯🔥🔥🔥 the spine work is crazy

So fast, one trick after another, so many tricks in 1 minute. Loved it. That's something I'm not very good at, I'm a 6 to 7 tricks type of skater. Perhaps because I still don't have large bag of tricks.

My claim to fame is watching cookie do a double kickflip down a small gap at the Barre town skatepark in like 2003

I love watching these. Makes me want to get on my skateboard and relive my preteen-teenage years again. Two broken legs and weighing like 50 pounds more than I did in those years is going to keep me on the ground though, maybe a couple flat ground tricks. Haha.
You definitely should. I quit for 9 years came back lost weight and never looked back. Wish i never stopped.
cookie is probably my fav street skater, at least in comps. the way he does his runs and the tricks he does are so different from literally everyone else in the game

I hate how these are edited. I've fallen asleep multiple times over the past two years trying to watch these. No disrespect to the skaters. I realize I sound like an instant gratification brat, but this is how the internet has shaped me over the years. I'm not proud of it.
“You want to see another stall or a sw tre down the double set” I guess your are doing fine lol.
What is great about that format is that it shows the different styles of skateboarding. Hope it reflects somehow in judging, otherwise it will get as uniform as streetleague and co.

I think his 47 second run could have even been a contender. If he got that one with the blunt kickflip I think he would've had this.
