Based on the profound themes of the 103rd chapter of the Holy Qur'an, 'Al-asr' is the first short-film created by the members the LUMS Religious Society. The Al Asr shortfilm is inspired by the works of Nauman Ali Khan, Maulana Maududi, and Dr. Israr

Yes. That is the point of Surah Asr. That those who are not lost are those tell each other to tell the truth and tell each to be patient.
I think this clip is about steering your brothers on the straight path so that we can all be successful in both worlds...
This story is contemplating surah Asr. Which explains that the time is running short and human being are getting drowned, going through a bigg loss. The reason the shackles are shown in the boy’s dream along with drowning is, because, it is the duty of every Muslim, to make the other person realise, about his deen as it is not a single journey to jannah, otherwise you would also be drowned along with others. Nauman ali khan has beautifully explained surah asr. It is a must must watch video if you haven’t watched it yet!

LUMS has a religious society?????? here in universities people feel ashamed when called for something religious and Pakistan's most liberal university has a religious society. Hats off to LUMS.

it has a very active religious society. LUMS is famous for its western secular values but in reality you will find all kinds of people there. I started Niqaab in LUMS thanks to the efforts of LRS. So did many of my friends. If it wasnt for LUMS, we wouldnt have developed such a bond with our religion.
It is fortunate to get good friends and companions in university, later it is very difficult...
Fun fact. The length of this video is approximately the time it'll take you to pray your Salah. Be it Fajr, Zuhr on any other prayer. Ponder upon it. How quicky the time flew when we watched this video yet we think it a big of a task to pray Salah.

Once I changed my friends and started to hang out with the namazis, I also started caring about my deen and started praying and fasting. Thanks to Allah for guiding me even at the age of 50. It's never too late to be spiritual . I now regret why I did not start praying earlier.

Even though i was born in muslim family but i knew nothing about my Deen,it was Allah (S.W.T) who guide me through Dr Israr Ahmed may Allah grant him the highest rank of jannah.ameen.He was truly a legend he changed my whole perspective of Quran and Islam.
And his tafseer of surah Al asr is just something which always give me strength to fight for my Deen Islam.

Back in the days when I started learning more about islam 7:47 is the exact concept that struck me the most that all of us are chained together. If I want to succeed in the Akhirah I need to work on everyone around me as well which is also the concept of Dawah. If we think that being a good Muslim alone and not contributing towards other people to let them know the truth (Islam) can fetch success in Akhirah then that's not the truth. This message is beautifully portrayed in this film.

In general, when we read quran we come across two types of non-believers: those whom Allah has sealed their hearts, ears, and veiled their vision, and others who are like people lost in a deep sleep of ignorance.They have temporarily strayed from their path,
جنکی رسی ابھی دراز کی جا رہی ہے۔ The fact that Omar, Abdullah, and their friends are depicted as being in a state of ghaflat, unaware of their surroundings, immersed in worldly pleasures, and driven by their desires yet, they are only one reminder away from awakening, from a caring friend who shakes them out of their darkness 8:05 How omar becomes deeply engrossed in thought as Abdullah reveals the concept of genuine success to him, abdullah has to stop him because he missed his house 6:41 and perhaps it also signifies that when Allah intends kheir for us, He utilizes the people around us as a means to it. So, in the future, don't disregard a friend's advice to pray on time, avoid sinful gatherings, or end a haram relationship.That reminder comes directly from Allah.

there often comes a moment when you reflect on a time in your life filled with spiritual highs, but now, your soul feels weighed down by sins and worldly worries, Don't waste the current moment that you have in regret rather seize the present moment to begin anew and have faith in Allah’s mercy that He will forgive what has passed if I’m sincere with my falah today.

I am really inspired by this film and it gives me the thought that how this medium can be used to spread the word of Allah. If we use it wisely with the pure intentions to serve in Allah's path then content creation can be the most effective mode to convey the message of Allah.
And that's the reason why Islam is now spreading faster.
Technology, Social media, content creation, nothing is good or bad, but it depends on how we use it.

We cannot escape and save ourselves alone. We have to struggle to save our friends and family as well in order to save ourselves because we are all tied up together and hence we have to invite others towards deen.

Hamare pass wakt kum hai portrays this life so brilliantly because we waste time thinking we have lots of it but its actually fleeting and before we know it,its time to go back to our lord - time is an asset and we need to utilise it efficiently. Allah says in the Quran (If only you could see when they will be detained before the Fire! They will cry, “Oh! If only we could be sent back, we would never deny the signs of our Lord and we would ˹surely˺ be of the believers.”)

LUMS is quite famous for its vibrant society and colorful life. When I visited LUMS for the first time, I was really amazed to see how students are attached to religion beside their studies.

The point is that we need soul purification both on and off. It's not easy to stay on a straight path throughout the life. It’s a continuous struggle that demands consistency and the courage to restart after every setback.
