      Wouldnt really say there is much difference, games in 2015 and 2022, 7 years apart, are pretty similar, there are only minor improvements in graphics and little has changed in gameplay.
      Compare for example 1986 when games like Super Sprint were the rage, to 7 years later in 1993 when DOOM was released.....

    Was pretty disappointed with the fact that you build such a system and then invest only 30 sec in explaining the overclock and the temperatures. Even worse you don't show anything about the noise of the system. This video could have been so much more.

    • @Greyghostvol1

    • @Ravenousjoe
      @Ravenousjoe 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Andrea T. It has a freakin compressor in the bottom of the of the case, and an 80mm case fan to exhaust the heat that the compressor puts out, overall sound is going to be high. As for overclocks, just check out his video for overclocking this card, cause why waste time when this is clearly such an impractical build guide.

    Well he did touch on a tough subject. Heating the room your PC is in. I started by running a water cooled FX9590 overclocked. It certainly made the room hot. So I built a box that sits on top and uses a nice fan to send all that nasty heat through a 4 inch vent pipe. Other end connects to a board in the window. All my PC heat is now exhausted outside keeping the room cool.

    An idea for a build guide... I would imagine some of your viewers(me included) live in foreign countries where constant electricity is a problem... I for one live in South Africa, where the electricity is among the most expensive in the world, to top this off the power is regularly cut off for 2-3 hours at a time(Scheduled and done to ease the load on the grid), that is obviously a problem...It would be cool if you could do a build guide for a rig that is extremely efficient(as far as power consumption is concerned) and can run for 2-3 hours without power(with silent UPS's and the like). Could you please consider this, I(and I would imagine many others) would be really grateful if you did.

      The difference is the compressor on a fridge is made for intermittent use, the occasional opening of the door, and can't dissipate heat fast enough to handle a constantly running computer. But the compressor used in the build is meant for constant use and is much more specialized for cooling a processor.

    You could lay it on its side, the oil would come back to the compressor after a few hours due to gravity... And in this case the suction and discharge lines of the compressor are on the opposite side of the compressor than the side you'd have laid it on, so it would have been safe without even waiting to power it on after putting it back up straight...

      Most people who build PCs with phase change [sub zero] cooling in mind generally choose better parts from the research I've gathered, so I'd say it's safe to say on 'no' for this exact build. However, I myself am looking into building one soon with the 2011 series or something else down the road should someone release another chipset with similar features as that particular series.

      Actually he is the one recreating. All of my 3D Mark99/Mark03 benchmarks were done with Athlon cores Thunderbird, Palomino, Barton using phase change cooling. I was not the only one either. We were able to get Athlon cores over 3Ghz easily back then with -40degF/C sub cooling. Most of us either gutted a 1ton window unit compressor or purchased a 12VDC Danfoss compressor. So yeah phase change cooling has been in play for cpu's over 20 years now.

      Now that the 13000k is out, we have CPUs with 5.8ghz stock and can achieve 6ghz fairly easily with an aio. It's amazing how fast things have changed in just a few months.

    A while back my gaming PC was getting old and always crashing with heat issues. I realised the air conditioner in the window could be an easy fix. I know everyone says it’s bad to use the AC and water damage with condensation. But I didn’t care. I moved the full tower case next to the window. Removed the side panels. And blasted the case with cold cold air. Highest fan setting. It was loud and expensive. Sure. But that PC ran sweet for another 12 months, until I retired it with a new gaming PC. Never had a problem with water condensation and all the things people warn about. It is so much more effective than water cooling or fans blowing heat around the case.

    How can there be no space for beer cans inside?

    • @pwnmeisterage
      @pwnmeisterage 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PC beer cooling is a fine idea. But the inside of this thing is actually pretty warm.
      300W cooling block on the CPU. Standard airflow, fans and rads on everything else.
      Some huge air coolers and AIO/DIY loops approach or even exceed 300W ratings. The difference is that they can only cool down to ambient instead of down to around -25C.
