Good afternoon, I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I applied to United Airlines and prepared with your content every step of the way and received my CTO on the 7th with a training start date of Nov 13th! If you ever wanted more insight/testimonials on the process I’d be happy to help. 🙌🏾
I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. I just moved to the U.S. and was looking for a job opportunity as a flight attendant. I applied for 3 different airlines: Horizon, SkyWest and United, and prepared for the process through your videos and lots of research. I ended up getting a CTO from all three airlines I applied for within a month. Ultimately, I chose United for being a mainline, having better pay & benefits, especially since I got in as a specific language speaker. I’m very grateful for all the help I got from your content while preparing. And to everyone out there trying to get into this journey, just prepare yourself as best as you can. You got this!
im so happy to have found your channel/videos. i’m a sacramento resident that got scouted by a UA flight attendant, i applied and have completed the assessment and am waiting for the webinar date this coming Monday 1/8/23. i’ve applied for flight attendant jobs twice now and am really hoping to get it this time. for now i’m watching all your videos. thank you so much. wish me luck. lolol.
Great stuff Abbie! I made it so far to the 1:1 video interview. The process is exactly as you described it. I want to add that when I did the video intro there’s a question where they ask you to enter in your passport’s expiration date. So if you don’t have it, this is where they eliminate you. It would be wise to not lie on this question. Also I am liking this interview process a lot better than my last attempt. I applied I think it was last year to United, and I made it all the way to a F2F interview. The VI was a hot mess. I logged in early, but no one showed up to the interview at all. Then I suddenly got an email sometime after that to go to the F2F. But then when I got there, it felt so impersonal. The FA who greeted us was so cold and uncaring, she just dumped us in a room and had us write messages to children on behalf of United. It was a very odd and unwelcoming experience. I felt jilted during the process. I was very disappointed when I did not get the CTO and thought I wouldn’t try again. But I decided to try again, and this process is so much better.
I had a friend ask me about the current process (I’m a United FA) so I watched the video to give her a better idea! Yes, they (sort of) still do the cart service every day in training. They have 4 trainees or “the working crew” do a beverage service for all of their peers before they can grab lunch!
Congrats on making it to F2F. Question , so after the on demand video interview , were you invited for another video interview with a recruiter this time before you were invited for F2F?
Thank you for all you do to be helpful with the application/interview process for United. Just completed the On Demand interview this afternoon. So I'll be checking my email a bunch starting Monday. Thank you for all the information regarding the Live Video Interview.
thank you so much for all the info. I have my Q & A with United Jan 8th ..Can't wait to get my link for the !st video interview..Sending you many blessings for 2024
Hello Wendy! I just received my Q&A invite for united! It will be April 15th! How long after the Q&A invite did you receive the video interview invite? Thanks
hello, i have my F2F interview on the 17th and applied with the last open job posting. The webinar was first for us before everything. The job posting was only available to people who attended the full length of the webinar which then they sent the exclusive job posting to our emails.
Thank you Abbie! It's my first time to apply in United, and I have been invited to a VI yesterday, and I'm thankful to see this video today so I can prepare the VI tonight. I was an ex-crew but in different country so it's just good to have this info to prepare myself to a different FA hiring process esp here in the US.
It went well guys! I am doing my Live interview tomorrow Aug 30. The questions that Abbie shared was almost the same so I had prepared for the answer of those questions in the Video introduction
My interview is in 2 weeks! I am so hopeful ill get hired! However, i am a little nervous on the start date of the training. Can anyone give me an idea of how long does training start after the in person interview? Thank you 😊
@@paulinaloha I don’t remember them verbatim. But they’re really easy! One is asking you why you want to be a flight attendant now? Like what makes now a good time for you. Also they ask how would you feel being away from family for 6 weeks for training. And your plan with having possibly but highly likely based in a different city. Also they go over red areas where you can’t have tattoos and you have to provide them with your passport expiration date and the number.
This is very helpful! Thank you for your tips. I am thinking of applying for a language speaking flight attendant position and wondering how different the interview process will be for that compared to general FA
Good morning Mrs. Abbie. My question is, I just tried to apply for Southwest Airline. I know that it stated that it will be open for applications on Tuesday 09/26/23 until 1300 but when I just tried to apply it said there where no openings? Please assist me. Thank You Mrs. Abbie
Thank you for taking the time and making this video! I would like to apply to the Portuguese LOD position but I am not native. My proficiency level is high but never like a native speaker. I am thinking about hiring a private tutor to flow as close as a native speaker... Do you know if United only hires native proficiency levels for their LOD positions? TIA
Our friend is asking ….If you recently went for face 2 face interview… to Houston and don’t get selected, then for a 2nd chance when are you invited for that face 2 face? Do you have to re-apply? And start over? Please help us explain.
Hey I applied to inflight supervisor based Boston, I had my video interview 7 months ago. I still have my candidate login which I check everyday my status changed from in progress to applicant about 3 months, but yet I haven’t gotten update for the next step. I come from a previous airline so I know if you didn’t get the job I would of been gotten an email stating they chose a different candidate. But I’m just curious by any chance may you help me understand why it’s taking so long or is it a freeze on hiring right now?
Hello, for the future opening, I will apply to united.. I have a little of mole behind of neck near the head (size is more than quarter) is this ok (acceptable)? or do i need to cove this?
It is sooo nuts, that you get hired online. When I started years ago, every interview was in person ( yes they weighed you and took your height) which would never fly today. All airlines are missing out on a lot of qualified candidates doing the hiring this way. Cattle Calls I am sure are not the most pleasurable way to hire, but at least they saw you in person, and you saw them to see if it was a fit for both. Remember there are a lot of actors and actresses that slide by in both interviews and even through training, and once they get online they are a horror show!
They give you a test while you’re in training. They have you speak to a language person on the phone that will ask you questions in that specific language. They grade you with your proficiency and send your report card to the training center with a PASS or FAIL letter.
I am currently living in India and i saw an opportunity for Hindi speakers.. It says that you can apply even though you have an international passport. But i am confused as whether it is for those intl passport holders living only in the US or is it also for people living anywhere in the world. Can someone please help me out over here?
You need to have a work permit in The U.S or green card. I just applied for Hindi speaker and I am waiting for my 3rd round which will be next week. Well I have my green card with me along with my EAD. The entire team of United Airlines is super helpful and so are the recruiters.
I had an interview with United back in June & was sooo disappointed when i didnt get it because i couldn't pass the reach test. F2F was chef's kiss. But after that disappointment of not being able of reaching 82", I thought it was VERY UNFAIR!! They preach D.E.& I but i felt none of that! I'm 4'11" & I was told they have some applicants that are my height that can reach 82" because they have "long arms". Either they have monkey arms or they're doing some serious yoga to reach. Left feeling really not included.
DEI does not apply to basic reach tests. You simply have to reach. If you can’t, then you are not who they are looking for. It has to do with you being able to reach certain emergency equipment, depending on where it is located on the plane. But, you can try applying for other airlines. There are some where you don’t have to reach as high.
As a united employee, i will tell you this: Unfortunately, if you do not fit the vibe, they will not hire you. The reach test is bs. They are only putting it out there just because you passed all the q&a. This only applies for in-flight and management position. But, they will hire anybody for customer service agents, and ramp since they are disposable. The core 4 value is strictly for marketing purposes, so the company looks good and that brings more revenue. It's all about numbers for united.
Sorry that happened to you. Safety is a major component of the job and not being able to reach safety equipment could be a hazard. I went training for a mainline once and, tbh, there were a lot of girls in my class way shorter than me and I'm only 5'3. Try again!
