This must really depend on the airline you’re working with, can’t really tell if it is actually this rough in the USA. Having my both parents working for the Finlands largest airline company Finnair, most of these things were accurate but in an exaggerated sense. Most crew hotels are 5 stars, minimum rest hours after long flights are mandated by laws and are usually several days in nice locations (in case of long flights), beverages and food are free for pilots, there’s definitely enough time to rest well, and when it comes to the airport security procedures, almost always they have their own lane to get through them quickly. But like said, I don’t have any experience on how it is in the states. Also the wages here are nowhere near as high as in America.
I always thought that Pilots had a glamourous lifestyle, getting to fly to foreign nations, getting paid lots of money, but now I know. Pilots can live a stressful life at times, especially being away from home for days end and whatnot. Much respect to pilots out there
I'm a pilot for air ambulance (medivac) This is too accurate. Our lives are not glamorous and airline pilots have some rough jobs. Thank you for exposing this haha
Becoming a pilot requires a lot of knowledge, experience and effort because flying a plane is very complicated due to the various buttons. Flying a plane also holds a risk because it's not only a risk to your own life but it's also a risk to the other passengers. So, be careful and avoid impulsive behavior!
From what I’ve heard, regional or short haul pilots have it a little easier. I went to an open house event at a flight school where they gave us an introduction and at least here in Denmark it’s possible to get a job as a pilot that’s basically just a regular 9-5 where you end up at the airport you’re based at so you get to go home every day after work. Sounds pretty cool. They also told us about how long haul pilots have this exact experience you brilliantly showcased in this video.
It’s certainly easier on the body, and you’ll get to sleep in your own bed most nights. However you get paid much less, fly way more takeoffs and landings, and in general short haul flights are more preparing for less flight time. On many airlines, short haul flights will touchdown, unload, and in 40 minutes be back in the air with passengers and fuel. It’s not the best environment for a pilot. It’s most likely why the Ryanair/Spirit airlines bad landing stereotype is around, as doing 8 landings in one day is going to make you care much less about how gentle you are.
I am starting flight school soon and I'm hoping I will enjoy flying commercial. I am planning to start regional and then go international whenever I can. Are the hours really hell or not tho? How much can I expect to make when first hired?

I want to be a pilot since a long time and i'm currently doing classes, and with this i know better what awaits me in the future. Nice video, as always!
i love your dedication even tho u are well aware about the upcoming struggles
To me flight training was a pleasure, we were finally flying. The struggle started at the low paid professional flying jobs trying to get experience.
@@essel23fly but you go to the regionals to get experience? Or are you talking about before that when your grinding for your ATP?
@@sohumpatel3364 yes being a CFI or flying for small operators is not that great. The Regionals are a bit better but it’s not for long term.
@@essel23fly Im guessing your a pilot right now. Im in high school going to be applying to universities soon do you have any recommendations regarding what I should major in (Trying to make sure I have a degree that allows a backup career in case i lose my medical) and any universities I should look into? Thanks
I love it how the checklist has landing gear down three green while the aircraft is still on the ground 😅 - great video though! Very accurate description of what most pilots go through!
its on some manufactures checklists so that the gear doesn't suck up if you hit a bump taxiing or preemptively on the initial rotation
Good work on the research done on these vids , surprisingly accurate
bro, your animations are really very good and even very interesting, even when I'm just sitting eating something, I immediately watch your videos, keep up the good work, I hope someday you will gain 300k subscribers or even 1 million :)
2:33 if I ever heard that coming from the pilot cabin in real life, I wouldn’t make it to the destination I’d die mid air 😂😂😂😭😭😭💀
Always watching your Videos while working on my business, keep up the great work ❤️
I love how Wojak has 3 bars and is the Captain, while his Co-Pilot has four bars and is the FO.
Maybe he is on IOE 😂
But he should still be seated in the right seat
Hell yeah, dude.
And then at 1:28 they both have 4 bars
I’m training to be a pilot and honestly I’m just trying to enjoy the process. General Aviation is usually a bit more fun than airline operations.
My moms friend made $400,000 in one year his final year as a pilot
$80-100k in debt is nothing when you factor in the pay you’ll get with seniority if I could start all over I’d do it. But I’m 27 and don’t have a college degree which most airlines need on top of pilot school
@@Kylewraps just do a WGU IT degreee - takes a year. Also, getting a job where you work 4 days a week 2nd shift (for me weds-sat) is perfect for training to fly and working FT

As a kid I thought this is what I wanted to do be an airline pilot for a living. I sometimes wonder how my life would have turned out. I work for a big corporation now and fly 172s on weekend for fun. I enjoy the business hours and being home with the family. Career as a pilot sounds harsh.
you got the best of both worlds cherish it!
0:47 this is not correct actually. all piolets get to go in a separate line out of sucurity.
It's minor inaccuracy, overall the gist is correct: why they have to search the crew so thoroughly anyways?
Being a pilot is my dream job and i keep hearing that it's not as easy as it looks but what's life without a struggle right?
+the pay is high so i think I'm gonna adjust to the life style
Can any pilot give advices whether on how did they find their flight school price schedule etc i would really appreciate it 🙏
You gotta make an episode for student pilot who spend their life collecting hours with minimum wage before getting to become a real old pilot.

What's the reason? Maybe you can help me avoid a mistake in the future

@@Cristian-vh5fh Oh. Well in your situation, I would try and save as much as possible for flight school. It may take a long time, but you could try saving up. By the way, I love Spain and have visited several times. Very beautiful country! :)

It's incredible how much love you put in those videos. There are so much lovely details. You are definitely one of the best Wojak creators
This is very accurate (to a point lol) I fly cargo for Mountain Air Cargo and this is pretty much the same thing we do every day but its a lot easier since I don't have to deal with passengers or anything. Im actually ok with the repetitiveness, you get used to it over time. Only part that sucks is the fact that I cant have a family or a pet or anything, but I came to terms with it a while ago so its all good. I chat with the boys on discord from time to time so that's always fun
You mean chat with the boys on discord whilst flying?
“Cant have family” concern to that sentence, I’m 23 and just started the PPL+CPL+IR+ME courses, got a woman who wants into serious relationship till we marry but she wont wait for me and wants a man who ready to marry her, so its like a racing competition, should I focus on my career first?

the most accurate description of being a pilot. I was blown away by prices to become one, thats why choosing Poland where its 60$k and not 120 is a good option :D
The airline life in the US is excellent by comparison to this video. The schedule depicted would be absolutely illegal for a US based pilot to fly
Student pilot here, can't wait for this life lmao

I always thought that Pilots had a glamourous lifestyle, getting to fly to foreign nations, getting paid lots of money, but now I know. Pilots can live a stressful life at times, especially being away from home for days end and whatnot.

The European carriers seem to definitely lag behind in the work rules that protect the American pilots, hopefully they catch up
It’s certainly easier on the body, and you’ll get to sleep in your own bed most nights.
As a real, 737 pilot, this is insanely accurate… we always get alarms to check deeper and need a full on pat down… First few seconds and im shocked lol. Cheers mate! - Australia 🇦🇺

I just watched about 50 airplane crash report videos in the last 2 days - still didn’t instill a fear of flying in me.
But seeing one video depicting a co-pilot playing candy crush has got me completely shook.
