this is really great content and I really want to watch it, BUT THE MUSIC!!! please please please put out another version of this that doesn't have a repetitive soundtrack running underneath it. I just can't concentrate and hear what you are saying with that music going
Great content, but he asked you to get hired by the company that handles most of your flights in IMC. Even if cargo carrier, you still need instrument rating because IMC flying involves
100%! I plan on getting back into editing as soon as I pass my commercial. I got the second one produced but the cutting and moving takes forever and it feels more like procrastinating than actually studying for my check ride.
My understanding of logging night time and TO/L is that it’s during evening nautical twilight. Since this is typically before sunset and after sunrise, you aren’t wrong but you could be more correct. Thanks for a great video !
For the logging of night time flying for your flight hours, that time starts at civil twilight... which is different than sunset or sunrise. Civil twilight is found in the Naval Air Almanac for your area... or just google it. It is defined as when the center of the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon, which occurs at different times every day and thus that's why you need to look it up daily. For the currency and carriage of passengers... you have one hour after sunset or before sunrise. That is the time you must do the 3 take off and landings to be current for night passenger carrying. So if sunset is at 8pm, and you are not current for carrying passengers at night, you have until 8:59 to be on the ground to be legal. To legally carry passengers at night, and sunset is at 8pm, you must do the 3 take off and landings 9pm or later.
@@TheFlyingZulu is correct: The general definition of night from 14 CFR 1.1 is used for logging day/night flight time. The use of position lights is covered in 14 CFR 91.209 and currency to carry passengers is 14 CFR 61.57(b)
The FAA has funny rules about flight instructors “teaching” for hire and not flying for hire. I don’t know the details for sure, but from an AOPA video I saw, we’re able to instruct with basic med even if we need to act as PIC for a brand new student. Hope this helps.
IFR needs instrument rating obviously. You dont Instrument rating when flying commercially under part 91 while flying in the night or greater than 50 NM if you are only carrying cargo and not carrying any passengers.
Really solid content and good pacing. But it’s very distracting when you slap your leg or hit your fist after every single answer. If you can avoid that, there is little to find fault with.
I thought you can take a check ride with Basic Med…..I don’t know if you need a third class certificate as you’re exercising nothing more than private pilot privileges when doing the FAA practical
Yes, you can as long as you follow all of the requirements and limitations of Basic Med. The Commercial ACS includes a practical test checklist that lists either a "Current Medical Certificate or BasicMed qualification (when applicable)" as one of the requirements.
@@williammickelson403 Will not auger that... But must ask your self is a lazy 8ight or a Chandell going to get you there? NOOO.... If you perform either the paying Passenger will never fly with you again....Am I lying-in??? Gotta love the ATP study guide;)
This actually made me LOL, I can not confirm nor deny😂

Almost helps calm me down waiting on a check right. Good info.
I’m gonna have to come back to this once I start my commercial
Great video! Got a commercial checkride in a couple days. Helping me brush up on areas and jog my memory. Moving onto part 2 & 3. Thanks!
More videos like this please !
This video is clutch! PT 2 pleeeaaasseee
I like how you answer with a "yes" or "no" when able. It's better than blabbering and digging yourself into a hole.
Great video! Wish there were more parts. You knocked this out of the park.
Thank you for your content fellow pilot.

Thought for sure night landings needed to be 3 full stop not touch and goes 🧐
I believe he said Stop and goes, which counts, so the airplane will fully stop and take off again
Correct me if I’m wrong: if your under basic med, youre a flight instructor, that is flying for compensation or hire. Or did I miss something?

13:52 wrong, your 1st class would expire Jan 31st 2021, your 2nd class Jan 31st !!2022!! 3rd January 31st 2025

Forget this worthless Certificate unless you wish to Banner Tow, Ag fly, or Flight Instruct for peanuts. After your Private get an Instument Rating.
😂😅
Well you sort of need this to get any flying job
