This quest just goes to show, you don't always need deep and thought provoking concepts to make a story good. Sometimes just a simple emotional story with good presentation is enough to leave a solid impression on someone. Kuro has proved this time and time again with their quests, they don't have the most deep lore or the best written characters but their presentation and story telling is one of the best in the genre.

I can agree with orion that the story is simple and with good enough presentation even if the lore and writing is mediocre would still be good because Kuro's story telling is the best. I think it's the general feedback that made Encore's story very solid because of it's storytelling, music, ambiance and visual aspects. Though I agree with you and everyone else that the other aspects should be improve in terms of story writing.

A small detail i noticed with the cutscene when encore sees her mom you can see her mouth Moving in the motion as if she's saying "Mom" my lord this quest had me in so much tears. (1:26:29 heres the time stamp btw)
Just realized when she says Little Warrior its Ying and when she says Wooly Warrior she means herself and I'm dying inside now. The story hit me with that true feels damage

The only reason why I build the characters in companion stories and play with them together to make it feels like the actual story. Such as Encore's story, I played a team with Encore and Havoc Rover.
I have played Kuro Games for a long time and I will say this. They are at their best at story that makes you care about the character. So for sure their character story will always be the best part even beyond main story.
this was the best story they had so far I like it better than Goalkeeper's wuvy duvy quest wish we saw Encore's mom though at the end. Hope they keep this up in the future this actually motivated me to build Encore. Love your reaction to the story too lol

i'm just hoping they will use different approach. People already deppressed irl, also deaths bs is becoming cheap tactics of tearjerker so people call it "dark". PGR has enough depressing and PTSD stuff, wuwa can touch the audience with wholesome story and still make you cry.
About encore speaking in 3rd person, i don't think it means anything significant, klee in genshin also talk like this. Surprisingly, my 2 nieces 5,6 years old they both talk in 3rd person.
tbh i really like verina desgain i know its not on the level of rest of 5* resonators while encore is just a really good small character i will even said the best outside of genshin and wuwa but i think verina can be worse so what you will change with verina about her desgain?

I genuinely never understood those that cry during Shorekeeper’s main quest. This one however, has all the right materials to make you cry.
For Shorekeepers, it’s like reuniting with your love after a long time of separation, that’s probably why.
