All these songs are played in our auspicious ceremonies like Weddings upnain mundan etc. Devi Seeta was the daughter of Raja Janak but she was not his biological daughter. Raja Janak found her in his field while plowing. The front part of the plow is called ‘seet' and because the Goddess was found with the help of seet, she was called “Seeta”. So coming back to your question, Mithila is an Indian subcontinent that now has become a part of Bihar but earlier Nepal was also a part of Mithila. Collectively it was called “Videh Kingdom”, it was called Videh because the father of Raja Janak whose name was Nimi aka Mithi had a curse from sage Vashishtha, which resulted in the churning of his body and it became mithi (loosely mitti). Raja Janak was the son of Mithi so he was called Mithil. In his and his father's name that subcontinent was called Videh (without body) and Mithila (that belongs to Mithil) . Devi Seeta was the daughter of Raja Janak so she was called Janki, Vaidehi, and Maithili. Devi Seeta also known as Mithilesh Kumari means daughter of the king of Mithila. So this is why her janmabhoomi is called Mithila, and Maithili is a majorly speaking language in Bihar. Devi Seeta was born from mother earth and went back to mother earth, this is why Devi Seeta was a born healer, she had knowledge of herbs and she had an affinity towards nature, animals, and birds.
