I could skip the fried donut-y things. The sausage sandwich looked great tho. The antiquarium in the palace looked beautiful. And the church was spectacular. The duck was my favorite of your meals.
I've seen this behaviour now in many travel videos about holding a fork. Could you explain to me why Americans hold the fork upside down, when shoveling food on it? I mean, there is a curve and its prongs need to face up and every time I see Americans doing that the prongs look down and instead of a valley to fill easily up, you have a mountain to balance stuff on. Why though..?
Not sure about how Americans hold their utensils tbh as we don't live there 😆 We use the fork both ways how you describe it so I guess we just do whatever feels right at the time haha doesn't really feel awkward to us
I see prices for pastries and bread has doubled since the last time I was in Germany (Stuttgart and Munich) back in 2011. Schade---alles ist teuer geworden.
A joke, right? ;-)) Rice wouldn't go with any food here, otherwise it would be Asian ;-)) I also love Asian cuisine, but then I don't go to a restaurant that only offers German cuisine.
@@wallerwolf6930 You rarely see rice in German restaurants, at least back in the day when I lived there. Potatoes, dumplings, spetzel, noodles, and potato salad and cucumber salad were popular. Don't know about these days.
@@resa.walters There are a lot of rice dishes in Germany, but you're right, you probably don't see them in restaurants as much. For example, a good chicken broth with rice! Paprika-tomato mince pan with rice, championing, chicken, cream pan with rice, Königsberger Klopse with mustard sauce and rice, etc. pp. Why this is so rare in restaurants is not clear to me. As a German, I often prefer to eat rice rather than potatoes or pasta.
It is traditional German Food..... over 2000 years old.... what do you expect??????? Beside: if you do not want to eat Poison-Asia rice BETTER buy European Italian Rice: th-cam.com/video/Sa5IJkFsWdg/w-d-xo.html Italians have got a "rice-culture" for over 600 years and in Italian Earth there is no poison like unfortunately n asian earth.....
Haha I was just joking with Aleana as she doesn't really enjoy beer in general. She doesn't lie that she likes it on TikTok 😅 It's just dad and I that enjoy the beer!
Good choice. Beer is a special drink in Germany. ...you can get huge "Mass" in Bavaria, and tiny " Kölsch" in the Northwestern of the country.... and something in the middle and in north and east....I think Germany has a kind of history with beer 😏 What does Alena like?
@@bettinafroh4707 Yes, I'm not usually a huge beer drinker but I actually really enjoyed all the beers we had in Munich! Aleana is more of a Korean soju and tequila person 😅
@@locavore_eats I to google "Soju" 😏 omg! - so she likes the stronger stuff 🙃 I remember my 18th birthday when I got a bottle of Tequila as a gift.... it was awful 😜 Nice that you tasted and enjoyed our beers. It's not sauerkraut, it's red cabbage. Not fermented or preserved with vinegar. :-)

I get an Australian vibe from you, Have you lived there before?
Haha we live in Auckland!
Red cabbage is not fermented…..so no Sauerkraut, but prepared with vinegar, sugar and spices.
