The weekend out of time brought me here. That's what I love about sampling. It gives you new information on music or the artist you never heard before
That’s if people make the effort to investigate. Most don’t. I know it’s a skill finding samples (sometimes) but I do wish The Weeknd would put in the effort to come up with original melodies instead of always mining the past (specifically the 80s)
@@waynedexter the weekend does come up with his own sound actually, and a true original. He has his own soundscape and own melodies with his own unique way without sampling for the most part. You do sound kind of a little anti sampling. There s nothing wrong sampling a couple of tracks at least. And yeah, I m not like most people. I just enjoy the art of sampling. And how certain artist can create their own originality around it. For the record, the 80s rule!!

Something about 80s Japanese city pop music is so beautiful even tho ion understand any of the words. Not gonna lie, I came here from The Weeknd but kinda disappointed that this man took the whole instrumental and just looped it. At least he credited her tho

@@Doomfloyd how is he an ass? hip hop and modern r&b samples a lot. i love it, it’s brought me to appreciate music from the 60,70,80s so much. if it wasn’t for the newer songs sampling them i would have never heard the originals. I know many others feel the same way.

Thank you for this music video. Midnight Pretenders has been my favorite song for many months now, and this movie works so well with it. Enough to make me want to watch it (which is a compliment coming from me since I dislike most things before the 90s... except cars)

That is to this song we got “out of time” although out of time is much better in sound quality, The Weeknd did a fantastic job with the voice and the way the sound was remastered and enhanced the original is an amazing song as well without discrediting at all.
